MAC - Holiday 2010 A Tartan Tale Discussion

Hello everyone!!

it's been mentioned several times now that the single eyeshadows are easily dupeable -- can someone please tell what these possible dupes are? I quite like some of the colours, but I'm not sure if I'll be happy to spend 22 Euros or so on one single eyeshadow (that would be arround 30 $)

Edit: oops, I was mistaken they are roughly 20€ here, but that's still around 27$ which is a lot of cash nonetheless

I'm hoping some of this collection sticks around for awhile so I can get more stuff at a later date when I have extra cash. I wasn't a mac nut at this time last year but it felt to me like that holiday stuff was around foreverrrrr so maybe there's hope.

I think I will be getting the 2 nps only -- the whole collex does not excite me enough to spend actual cash for it and I get watery itchy eyes from the liners -- everything else, I either have or don't need

I think I've decided on Moonlight Night and The Family Crest for sure.. then Black Swan. I'm going to fight hard for Black Swan though! The first two will be my first pigments ever! I can't wait

Does anyone know if there is a good way to test for a bad reaction to the pearlglides in-store that doesn't involve actually putting one around your eye? There is no way I'm going to put a store tester anywhere near my eye.

After seeing karla's swatches i'm superexcited for this collection! I love the look of Cut a Caper and Courting Lilac and even the shadows look great, which i didn't expect!

well I just called to confirm that my order for FC went through (I want no BO surprises ) & indeed, its packed & ready to ship

I am also considering Courting Lilac. Nordies didn't have that in either when I got to see TT. It does look like a lovely lavender color.

As for Undercurrent, everyone needs that one!!! It's so gorgeous!!!

I agree! Weird thing, though: I bought two Undercurrents when they were released the first time. Mine look more GREEN than teal! Don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful color, but the swatches I've seen of Undercurrent this time around have it looking noticeably more teal. Am I the only one?

Not really. If I were you I would hand the tester to the SA or MA and have them sharpen it for you right before you put it on your eye, that way it is clean.
