Hey ladies
smiles.gif
I'm so glad to see everyone posting their hauls! I too just got back from MAC and I am an insanely happy woman right now!
I ended up getting the Vain&Glorious lip bag set and the Gone Romancin' Dazzleglass. (popped the DG cherry today and don't think I'll
be looking back after this!
love.gif
bring on the dazzle baby!) I will post pics of things if anyone would like just let me know

OT.. I went to my local Shoppers DM and found some Essie n/p for $3! They are normally priced $12 here so I was quite happy about that
too! A little cherry to add to my already spectacular day!

Alright, I got a problem here. Courting Lilac is a bust. It shows up as some shimmery nude only pigmented lips. Also, I swatched DBG next to MN and I prefer DBG. MN is more sparkly, but not as vibrant on me. I may try it in a look before I pass it along. Courting Lilac, however is getting passed to a friend ASAP. My Highland Honey is great, though.

I have to say I'm not surprised much by this though dawling! I too had the same problem with the lipstick and if I had to say one thing about it... I think maybe most girls with pigmented
lips are going to find CL a failure. Of course everyone is different though... *shrugs* I am wanting MHH but I'm on the fence... what do you think for a girl who's NC-NW 10-15 ?

Well, I went on my crazed TT binge. Spent a little more than I was planning to, but I put it in perspective that this is likely my last haul until the end of the year (and even then, I'm not planning on getting much from either Cham-Pale or Stylishly Yours). Have to say that nothing really surprised me here. I concentrated on the colour collection, although I did pick up my two eye sets. I also tested Baron's Rose, since it's been getting some love here. It is a lovely colour and, yes, I would say it's almost exactly halfway between Thrills and Funbathing. It's different than either, but I couldn't justify the spend with everything else I was getting. Here are my rough thoughts on the colour collection part:

Eye Shadows- I agree with those who were a little underwhelmed by these. Yes, the texture is gorgeous and the pigmentation leaves nothing to be desired, but most of the colours seem like they could be duped by regular products. I know a few people asked about what the dupes were, so here's my best guess: Golden Crown= Nylon, Follow Your Fantasy= Paradisco, Enviably Fun= Juxt, Semi-Precious= Hepcat. There are colours close to A Wish Come True, which is a light, frosty baby pink, but honestly, I couldn't think of one that's exact. It's a surprisingly pretty colour and I think it would flatter almost any skin tone. Glamora Castle, the one shadow that seems to get attention, is pretty special in my opinion. It's like if you took Tilt and made it predominantly grey rather than blue. It reminds me a little of the starflash colour Fashion, but they aren't quite the same. GC is cooler and a bit darker.
Hauled- Glamora Castle, but I might have to go back for A Wish Come True.

Pearlglide Liners- I have no idea why I've never tried these before. Perhaps it's because I've always had trouble with liner pencils, so I was shy. Or because liners tend to smudge and disappear on me. With these specifically, I think it was because I was expecting them to be dry and gritty... How wrong I was. They're super-creamy and soft with intense pigmentation and I seriously think I could have gone home with all of them. All of the colours are beautiful and quite different from one another, so there's nothing stopping you from getting a bunch. I'm seriously in love and I just hope like hell that they don't make my eyes water and itch.
Hauled- Black Swan (which looks different enough from a plain black liner to justify the purchase) and Undercurrent (which is, as Erine put it, mermaid in a stick and was beautiful enough to make me overcome my mixed feelings on teal)

Pigments- You need all of them. Seriously. Nothing I'm going to say is going to explain how cool they are and the swatches, through no fault of the photographers, can't convey the nuances to these shades. Just get 'em already.
Hauled- Moonlight Night, The Family Crest (I already bought Later with A + O)

Blushes- Her Blooming Cheek is exactly what it looks like. If you have Full Fuchsia (which is being discontinued) or Azalea (which I've been told is also being discontinued), you really don't need this. If you're choosing between the three, I'd choose Azalea, because it gives a nice sheen on top of the intense colour. If you just want a hot pink blush (doesn't everyone need one?), any of them will do. My Highland Honey was actually a nice surprise. I was worried it was going to be an overly warm peach colour, but the colour I'd most liken it to is actually the inside of a perfectly ripe cantaloupe. Seriously, that's the kind of orangey tone it is. It probably runs a little warm, but it honestly looked good when I tried it and all I did was brush some on with my fingers.
Hauled- My Highland Honey

Dazzleglass Cremes- Have to admit, I barely looked at these. I gave a half a second's thought to Gone Romancin' and then I reminded myself of how anemic the colour payoff is on the other ones that I own (Chillin' and I Want Candy). They're all pretty sheer, although Radiant Jewels has enough pigment to show that you're not just wearing a clear gloss. Maybe there's a point to these that I'm missing- I quite like the couple of Dazzleglasses that I own, even the light ones- but the DGCs just don't excite me.
Hauled- Nada

Lipsticks- This is always my domain when it comes to collections. I have a stupid number of lipsticks and I keep getting more. I tried all of them save for Full Fuchsia, because I already have Show Orchid and Fusion Pink, both of which I prefer as hot pinks go. Although there are five lipsticks, somehow the selection seemed a bit smallish. Maybe I'm too used to these massive, multi-part launches like SCF, FF and VV. Anyway, I'd originally been looking forward to Cut A Caper, hoping that it might be like a peachier Lustering (it kind of looked like that in the first photo I saw of it). I'd realised since that it's much more peach than pink and I was prepared to be disappointed. It's good to be prepared. The colour reminds me of a watered-down Vegas Volt. There's something almost plasticky about it that I really didn't like (aside from the fact that it was unflattering on me). I also found the application to be pretty streaky and uneven, no matter how much I tried to smooth it out.
Speaking of which, I was surprised to find that Deepest Wish was also a little streaky on application. Not something you'd normally expect from an Amplified Creme. I agree with Temptalia's assessment that it's a much lighter type of AC. In this case, though, the streakiness went away with a second layer of colour and boy did that change things. With two layers, the colour was much darker than either Kittenish (which I was wearing) or Underworld, which I would say are its two closest cousins. It is very simliar to Kittenish, but more intense. Kind of like what would happen if you mixed Kittenish with Tribalist.
Salina already gave a great description of The Faerie Glen and there's nothing I really have to add to that. It's a perfect neutral pink with very good pigmentation and I think it would be flattering on a wide range of skin tones. Sort of reminds me of a lighter Blankety, or a more neutral Plink! (I don't own Hug Me, but from what I understand, they're almost indistinguishable.)
And finally, there is Courting Lilac. It swatched dark on my hand, which made me a little leery. It looked too much like some really frosty light purple colours I've seen and disliked. However, on the lips was a totally different matter. It was a lot less pronounced against my medium-pigmented lips, but it definitely added a pretty purple-gold sheen. Strangely enough, it reminded me a little of Riveting, only with a lilac rather than taupe-plum base. Like Riveting, it's fairly pigmented for a glaze (although Riveting is darker). One of those moments where I was glad I took the time to try it on rather than relying on my hand swatch.
Hauled- Courting Lilac, The Faerie Glen, Deepest Wish

Plus, of course, I grabbed Reelers & Rockers and Play It Cool. That's it for me, I'm happy with my haul and I hope you ladies are as well.

Swung by my favorite counter and came home with super sexy Black Swan, MN, & TFC. I LOVE BLACK SWAN! It's different enough from Black Russian to absolutely justify the purchase. If I weren't so broke I'd back it up for sure. The pigments are really pretty too

Where are you where they have Essie for $3!?!? I just came back from mine at Spadina and Bloor, and they def didn't have that deal!
shrugs.gif

I am also insanely happy with everything I got!
th_DANCE.gif
It's dangerous that I'm having like 3 shopping trips for this collection because of the preview and Chapter 2... easy to forget how much I'm spending!!
oh.gif

I love my Viva Glams, and Layla, your bag is waiting for you untouched!!! PM me and we'll figure something out
th_thstars.gif

I have not tried on TFG yet, but I am extremely excited for it, and I pre-ordered Black Swan and Lord It Up without swatching - so happy I did! Man, these liners don't budge at all!

Erine, I also picked up Undercurrent, and I have to say, it just may be my favourite of everything so far. You are totally allowed an I told you so!
cutey.gif
They were almost out when I went at lunch though. I was so peeved - I was stuck on the TTC for almost 45 min waiting to get there in between class! I was 20 minutes late, but it was totally worth it lol

Was really worried today that by the time I got to my MAC store after work that stuff would be sold out. I got there at about 6:45 pm and it was
tumbleweed.gif

Besides the two MA's, it was just ME in the store....they let me borrow some brushes and I went to town with the Play It Cool palette....just to be sure. I
eyelove.gif
it!! I can easily see me using it several times a week. I lined my eyes with Black Swan (another GREAT pearlglide) and fell OVER with TFG lippie.....OMG, it's SO GREAT of a color for my lips! I did decide to trade back my Semi-Precious e/s for TFC pigment, which is GORGEOUS! So in all, I came home with

Play It Cool palette
Glamora Castle e/s
Black Swan pearlglide
The Family Crest pigment
Radient Jewels dg creme
The Faerie Glen lipstick

They already have my two lipglass sets on hold for Nov 11th (Corals and Pinks) and I added a Sir Teddy keyfob.

By the time I got home, I realized I *had to have* a backup of TFG, so I called my store, and they will let me B2M for another when I pickup Chapter 2 on the 11th...YAY!!

Now, I'm off to use my Sephora GC for my F&F stuff.....yay for plastic money!!

Im surprised Later pigment isn't sold out. I was thinking because of how popular it was last time, that this time people would be going crazy to get it.

Hey ladies! Got back from my MAC counter a while ago and bought a couple of things.
smiles.gif

Moonlight Night pigment
The Family Crest pigment
Full Fuschia lipstick
Black Swan liner
Petrol Blue liner
A Lady and Her Tricks brush set

I felt a bit underwhelmed with this collection. :\
Or perhaps I was just a bit burned out from VV lol
I thought Cut a Caper was going to be a beautiful pinky peach but it just didn't appear on my pigmented lips... bummer.
I didn't try TFG on my lips, but on my hand it turned an ashy color... not very appealing.
The only one that stood out to me was Full Fuschia, so I scooped it up.
greengrin.gif

I already had Later. from A+O so I bought FC and MN since I'm starting to become a pigment fiend. :p
Undercurrent was sold out when I go there, so I randomly swatched Black Swan and OMG
th_drool.gif
I had to have it!
I was SO tempted by Petrol Blue, but I had another liner... but when the MA told me they had one left I told her I'd have it and it definitely didn't disappoint, it's so beautiful.
love.gif

Everything else was passable (for me, anyway).
My mom bought me the brush set (earlyyyyy Christmas gift lol) and hopefully they'll have Sweep Me Off My Feet at the end of next month; if so, I'm going to buy it.
smiles.gif

My mom bought Lord it Up and Soft Dazzle DGC (slowly but surely getting her hooked on MAC lol).

I am in Kitchener-Waterloo. I found them in my Shopper DM... they were on a clearance shelf and most of them were pale/spring colors, the SA said they had some other colors but that they had been raked through... I got the color Waltz. This also happen to be my first Essie purchase. Also! Found some Revlon n/p's too and they were like $1.69
but they too only had pale/spring colors, got the color Peach Nectar

Yaaaay! I'm back too!

Answered my own question but I know someone else wanted to see FC and Gilt by Association swatched together as well. They're nothing alike.

I stopped by MAC after work but left empty-handed. I think the pigments and liners are beautiful but just not things I would get much use out of. I so rarely reach for the beautiful pigments I already have. The polishes are both nice but didn't really suit my skintone.

The one thing I loved was the Budding Romance lipglass but it was in a kit with things I didn't really want. I hope they bring that one out again with another collection.

I hope everyone is enjoying their hauls:)

Going to my MAC counter and finding out Bon Jovi is coming here on his 2010 tour, is like having a piece of red velvet cake w/ cream cheese frosting without the calories!

Someone posted a link to this blog on another forum i frequent. Looks like the tartan print is an overspray.

http://www.britishbeautyblogger.com/2010/10/mac-tartan-tales-correction.html

I wouldn't cut a £15 eyeshadow in half but thats just me
I called yesterday & the SA said that the print is only on the surface & wears off after a couple of uses. So tom., I'm going just to check out the Crown whatever e/s (I'm a sucker for yellows & golds) as it's the only thing that interests me. May also pick up the still-in-stock Sweet Joy which I previously passed on. My mu collection is coming along nicely so I'm being steadfast & buying only those things on my w/l. Really looking forward to several items in the 12/26 & Jan. '11 Collections.

Blahh I've been playing with the Play It Cool pallette... and I don't love it.
It might go back. I dunno. All the colours looks so BEAUTIFUL online, and I've been wanting purpley eyeshadows for ages but I just don't know about this kit.
The shadows are really small, the included brush is fairly useless, and the pigmentation isn't all that great on a few of the shadows.
That being said; I quite like Heather Bells and Hold My Gaze.
I was really looking forward to Altered State, To The Ball, and Magic Moor - but they just aren't doing it for me now.

I don't know what to doooo.

I was disappointed when I swatched the Play It Cool palette...the colors looked dark on me. I wanted to love the palette and add more purple shadows to my collection, but it fell short for me. I do agree the colors looked beautiful in online swatches though!!

Im really happy with the Dashing Lassie palette I picked up

Got some stuff today. I had to cancel my preorder on a few things because my paycheck sucked this week. I ended up getting Moonlight Night piggie, Later piggie, The Family Crest piggie, Semi-Precious eyeshadow, Glamora Castle eyeshadow, and Gone Romancin' dazzleglass creme. Very happy with what I got, and I plan on using some of it tomorrow!

I might go back for a few more things if they have anything left when I get money again. We'll see.

Oh and I love the free cloth tartan baggies they give you for purchasing from the collection. I got two because I had the three pigments pre-ordered, and then I bought the other three. They're so cute!
