MAC - Holiday 2010 A Tartan Tale Discussion

Yesterday, I picked up Moonlight Night pigment, The Family Crest pigment, and Undercurrent pearlglide eyeliner at the store. The MA gave me a tartan bag, I mean a clear bag with a tartan ribbon. Did anyone else get this bag?

Salina, I thought about She Who Dares MES when I got the Moonlight Night pigment, too.

Still thinking about The Faerie Glen. Also Vain And Glorious and Viva Glam lip bags have started looking good, but I have to stay strong. I should focus on what I already have. This is not always easy though.

I might go back for more, but I'm not expecting going crazy. I hope.

I know, right? She Who Dares and Moonlight night go hand in hand.

Glad you like your stuff! That is the bag they gave me, too.

Wore Courting Lilac and Gone Romancing last night....LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!
I tried them both, and I guess I just can't pull off a Lavender lip......funny because I got Radiccio(sp) and Lavender Wind from the Sprint Color Collection and they work fine.....must be my stupid undertones.......

I LOVE Courting Lilac on!!! Its a really pretty plummy lilacy mauve & def. not frosty looking on me. Its beautiful with plummy blushes or Pet Me blush.

I picked up The Fairy Glen ls today. I think it was the lighting in that particular Macys that made it look a different weird color on when I tried it the first time.

Also, for you Chanel lovers - I bought the new Splash liquid eyeshadow (holiday 2010) today and put Moonlight Night pigment over it - OHMYGOODNESS can we say Gorgeous! It made it so intensely smokey beautiful!

I b2m'd for Courting Lilac today. I like it alot - it doesn't look overly frosty on me at all as I've read alot on MUA. Haven't really kept up with this thread so I don't know if that's the feeling here too. I think my natural lip color is a bit purple-y to start with so that may be why.
same here - but I think we have the same lips

YAY!!!! Thanks to LittleMaryJane I got a TT booklet coming. I called MAC and if you order at least $75 you get one while supplies last and she said they still have some. Also it DID show up in my cart. A SUPER BIG THANK YOU to LittleMaryJane

I picked up the Viva Glam lip bag yesterday! Nothing from this collection really spoke to me... but I NEEDED one of the gorgeous bags. Thought I might as well support the cause and get the bag! It's gorgeous and such good quality!

Love Viva Glam VI and the lipglass. It's my first lipglass from Mac and I love the texture. I've HATED lipgloss in all incarnations for the longest time so I hope this doesn't become an expensive new addiction :p

I have been so busy with work the past few days and I have missed so much here on Specktra! Missed you guys!

I ended up with:
The Family Crest Pigment
Moonlight Night Pigment
Sir Teddy (he was just too cute to pass up)
Radiant Jewels DGC
Black Swan PG
Reelers & Rockers palette

I still have to actually go pick up my pre-order but just have not had the time. I can't wait to play with those pigments.

I have a questions for you all. Do any of you use the pearl glides as a base before pigments/shadows? I want to use black swan under moonlight night but I am not sure how to do it. TIA!
Kitten, I used Undercurrent as a base for Moonlight Night tonight and it is GORGEOUS!!! I have really crappy lighting so it's hard to capture the colour, but here's a try:

Don't mind the crazy wings - I'm Rainbow Brite for Hallowe'en, so I was going for space/cartoony - very little blending involved!
cutey.gif

Edit: The slight tackiness of the pearglide helps the pigment to adhere. Use densely bristled brush to pick up a small amount of pigment, then pat it in.Tilt your head back and use a loose powder under your eyes to minimize and catch any fallout.

hey, by the way, did you get the clarisonic? talk about that came up in the VV thread.  before F&F is over, i am going to haul the MIA

Yup. I got the Clarisonic about a month ago I think. I love it. My face is smoother than a baby's behind. I just take off my eye makeup and the Clarisonic does the rest. It leaves nothing behind.

I love the bag I got with the dazzle the lads set. I am going to use it to hold my lipstick and my ysl touché éclat or whatever else I need with me. I carry huge bags and sometimes stuff gets lost.

I've only purchased one MAC product in my life haha. Never got into it cuz it's not easily accessible to me but this collection is so cute and I love tartan! I don't *need* anything but I think I might order the Vain and Glorious lip bag and that cute little Sir Teddy keychain thing since it's for a good cause.

The Family Crest was my MA's choice, but glad I got Moonlight Night, too.

I agree with you. This collection is not stellar as a whole, but has some great individual pieces.

I love my sparkles!

Moonlight Night and The Family Crest are both must-haves, IMO. I love them both.

I'm a little peeved right now.

I went to pick up Sir Teddy yesterday since I ended up having the time, and I was in a hurry when I got there since after all, I did have class, and I guess I didn't watch them put him in the bag, but they sold me one without a box!
angry.gif
I mean, I wouldn't usually care, but I see him as kind of a collector's item, and I want the box. Silly, maybe, but that really pissed me off. I'm going tomorrow to take it back and I'll order online since that was the last one at my store.
ssad.gif
Oh, well. So long as I get him, I'm happy, I guess.

^ Wait, is it possible? Sir Teddy without a box? Was it a store sample?
th_confused_new.gif
You should get him with a box.
