MAC - Wonder Woman Discussion

I've been up since 11am, waiting for my package. The UPS man better hurry the hell up because I want to scram and get a new laptop. I was up too late last night, started watching WW hauls on youtube and almost decided to order Marquise'D and the Valiant palette. Now you know that was insomnia induced madness.

Hey all,

I popped by one of my local MAC stores last night to hang out with my sister.

When I walked in one of the MA's pointed me to the back room and said WW is set up. Go take a look at it.

So I moseyed back and took a look. And looked and looked and looked and looked and looked.

I had them hold Heroine l/s and Secret Identity l/g for me. The l/g applicator is huge!

My sis and I had a good laugh over it.

I wasn't wowed by the e/s (nothing at this point wows after Peacocky - Mega Metals) or the blushes or anything else in the collection besides the msfs.

One of these days MAC is going to send me my Golden Lariat msf and I may pick up Pink Power just because I collect msfs.

I have to agree with what the poster above said about Pink Power=Stereo Rose msf. That MAC store only received 3 of them but lots of Golden Lariat. I think it is ridiculous they limit quantities of certain items.

Please don't tell me they cannot produce larger quantities - MAC can get their suppliers to do what ever they want!

The lipsticks are nice but how many times is MAC going to release different shades of the same colors? Heroine is unique enough and I have not seen a shade like it.

I'm not into pigments and glitters and all so I passed on those.

Next up for me is the summer collex in May.

I hope there is something interesting there.

Overall, WW was an ok collex - nothing really super - just ok. It didn't make me jump and down like Style Black, for instance. It was just ok.

It'll be very impressing if someone can get through a blush or MSF from this collection, considering the huge size (and all the other cheek products we have and love!). I find it very hard to hit pan on a blush even when it's a normal size, not to mention these!

I'm sure I won't hit pan on these. I have yet to hit pan on a msf - besides the natural ones.

They are gigantic! and a bit bulky to hold in my hand.

I really like Golden Lariat - the shades are gorgeous.

I wan't impressed with the center shade of Pink Power though. The brown is not highly pigmented like the brown in the center of Golden Lariat. It was disappointing especially since the other two shades are highly pigmented and beautiful.

Strange MAC would shirk on the quality of the center shade of Pink Power especially since it takes up so much of the compact!

Sigh,
with the weather here in TX, I don't know when I will see my packages.

UPS picked up my first package on the Feb1, but there has been no activity since on my first package.
the second package shows it was picked up, then disappeared, now it just gives the notice about adverse weather..
I would like to see that it arrived somewher and was scanned though.
I'm not hugely stressed.... yet.

Elegant - Can you repress it the way that people do eyeshadows when they break (also the same process basically as pressing pigments)? I know it is a hassle but if they aren't making you send it back and you'll have another one soon it'd be like a bonus backup! Just wanted to mention...
Oh man, I guess I could if I knew how. The large pieces especially the darker coral side is ok, but the rest of it just blows away into the air like baby powder - its a huge mess even after I cleaned it up. So, is that even possible for me to do?

I did my WW haul yesterday. I live right by the Toronto Pro Store and they get everything a week early. I was waiting outside right at opening, they'd just put out the display! I was really not impressed with the eyeshadows, msfs or the gianormous l/g! I ended up with Marquise D' and Russian Red l/s and the Mighty Aphrodite blush. I missed out on Marquise D' last time it was released and I'd been meaning to get Russian Red for awhile. Overall though, I'm kind of underwhelmed. I love the packaging and the concept but the products themselves are kind of meh.

Hey Elegant,

Man, what a headache!

I hope MAC does the right thing and send you a new one!

Funny about the MA not knowing the exact date of the collection's launch.

I find that same problem with at all of the MAC stores and counters I frequent.

Perhaps the MA's don't care, have too much to think about or MAC is just rolling out too much product for their staff to keep up with!

missminikat,

I agree with you about being underwhelmed by the collection.

Maybe this is what happens when you have mac on the brain all the time!

I'm happy I'm backing off of MAC purchases until the summer collex comes out.

Like I stated before, I hope it is interesting.

Fiberluver - I know right...geesh I so hope the other arrives & arrives in one piece. Chanel is the same if not worse about having any knowledgeable info about their products & launches. You would think it would be part of their jobs to know

berryjuicy - Marquise'd is a very very beautiful nudie peach with a slight pink tone to it. I bought a WW one because the one I have is in the old holiday 3 lip pan set & I hate those. I will never ever buy those again. So yeah, I NEED it in lipstick form.

[/quote] I am tempted to get it, but I feel like it won't work on my pigmented lips. I just don't know. On some people it seems so light and sheer, but on others it shows up well. I just can't call it. My package came! To my relief, Heroine does not look like frosted poo on my lips. It's actually pretty nice. I am used to brights, but this is fine. It wasn't totally necessary, but this isn't the first time I've bought something I didn't need. I can't post pics because I wasn't able to accurately capture the color. It just doesn't photograph well. It looks like a weird reddish copper and super frosty in pics, but not in real life. Ah, well. Amazon Princess is gorgeous. The smaller side of it plays head games because to me it looks kinda bronze but when you swatch it, it's like this deep berry red. Very nice. I don't use blush colors like this often, but I will make room for this. MA is still the best, though! Thanks for the pic love, elegant :frenz:

More/ better shots later, but I thought I'd share this look I did with stuff from my haul:

That's Amazon Princess on my cheeks and Spitfire on the lips (I also used Noir Plum on my eyes, although it's not that clear in this shot- it was part of the haul).

Yeah for the "No poo" looking lip

I know that if you love AP that I will too. My lips are really pigmented purple-ish & it make them a soft nudish slight peach pink. It doesn't change them in a huge way, but its really pretty.

Shontay,

I didn't think about it while I was at the store but do you think Heroine look like Dark Deed from VV?

Thanks!

Elegant that is awful about your blush! Haven't been in this thread so this is the first I read of it. How does it even get *that* messed up?! Glad they now say you'll be getting a new one!

Katred - that is VERY very beautiful on you!!! love it! Spitfire shows a lil bit deeper on my lips due to my lip color. I love it
