MAC - Wonder Woman Discussion

I bought my MA instore and when I took it out of the box in the car (in case it was broken I could run back in), it was covered in pink powder too, but intact. Strange that so many are packaged this way.

My Wonder Woman goodies have arrived!

I must admit, having read about the broken blushes, I opened Mighty Aphrodite with some trepidation, as it was covered in a film of pink powder. I was relieved to find all was well :) There was a little powder on Amazon Princess as well, but again it was intact. Not sure how they manage to do that.

Pink Power looks enormous sat in my hand lol.

I'm looking forward to trying these out later, as well as the Ivy fluidline and Ego mega Metal which I ordered with them.
I am so tempted to get that tote now after seeing pictures. Shontay - does it have a zipper or snap on top? Without that, I can see my stuff flying out and a lot of cursing from me.

I got SI yesterday and I love it. This really may be my HG neutral gloss. A hint of color, a hint of shimmer, not sticky at all. Even though it's big as a mutha I still want a back up. Must resist.

Since I can't talk about WW without a story about my little boy, here's the most recent funny. I showed him my lipgloss and he asks "so that's what WW lips look like?" I say sure (I mean he's 4 he doesn' know). Then he gets real close to me and says "is that what WW lips smell like?" (The lipgloss probably has the strongest scent of vanilla that I've had in all my years of buying lipgloss from MAC). I start laughing and say yeah. He get's a big smile and says "Awesome!"
girlhaha.gif

Now if I can just get my shirt I'll be done. Maybe. Anyone get their shirt yet? I know they've had drama with the sizes (it didn't take when ordered so you had to respond to an email) so I was told yesterday some were still pending.

ETA: I'm wearing the pink side of AP with Briar Rose and it's turned out to be a fabulous combination. Takes a bit of the brightness out of the pink but still looks like a true pink and not berry.
honey, your boy is so cute, I am sure he will grow up to be a heartbreaker :)

i have played with my goodies tonight and i must say that MA blush is stunning! i wasnt that fussed when i swatched it on my hand but on the cheeks it looks great. very pigmented though so i must be careful! the green mascara is awesome. it's not obviously green until you are close to me. hubby thinks the effect is cool. i then topped it with the benefit prowwl teal glitter mascara - very pretty! marquise'd lippie is so nice, feels great on the lips and i think would suit most skintones. the msf i havent played with too much yet. but my 165 brush is perfect for it as i suspected.

Mighty Aphrodite is straight up a cheek only blush. Swatching on the hand does no justice for it!

You know what about this collection... It was just perfect for a small haul. A little bit of WW was all I needed! Got the comic strip in the mail, love the art on the packaging. All good!
I agree 100%. I was worried when I got MA in the mail and swatched it. It's a disaster on the hand, unlike AP. It's so gorgeous on the cheeks, though.

I got my first compliment today on my blush and I was wearing AP. This is becoming an everyday blush for me.

I also have to say Heroine is incredibly wearable for me even though I tend to gravitate to more cool toned lippies, this works. I imagine I use a lighter hand in application than my more pigmented sisters but it is really lovely and unique, and not too metallic of a frosty finish, if that makes sense. If anyone has Coconutty, it is like that but more coppery and slightly ruddy toned but gorgeous.

thanks for the Style Warriors comparison versus SI. I think I may have to get SI anyway, although I was hoping for more microshimmers in it.

Am I the only one who loves the huge tubes of gloss and the ginormous applicators? I mean, I love the "one swipe, done" application. And my lips are fairly thin but I have not had a problem with too much. Maybe its a Freudian thing, me liking the bigger circumference or something?

I think I may have to get all the lipglosses just because I like the size.

So far my favorites have been the AP blush (and to think I almost skipped that, until I saw swatches on dxgirly and katred), AK gloss and Heroine lippy. But I have not tried the MA blush yet or the mascaras.

finger.gif
lol this is what i got

Lipglass:
Athena's Kiss (so pretty!!!)
Wonder Woman
Secret Idenity

Blush:
Mighty Aphrodite

Eyeshadow:
Valient (Even though the eyeshadow has been getting loads of crappy reviews I'm a sucker for greens and as soon as I made a look with it, really easy btw, I got loads of compliments a teacher even asked where I bought it so she could grab some lol)

Lipstick:
Marquise'd
Spitefire
(May get russian red when I stop in for Pink Power, but im not in a hurry since its perm. I got flustered from cham-pale and it seemed similar so unless im told otherwise heroine is a skip)

Mascara:
Army of Amazons
Victorious
Themyscira(for those of you who are wondering about this name, it's the traditional name of the island where Wonder Woman and her Amozons live)

Love everything (Thanks Mom!) and (this surprises all my friends at school) This is actually a light load for me, the economy and all in US it's not that were struggling but yeah gotta buddget more but hey better to be on a budget for mac than no mac at all

I am so glad everyone loves MA & AP!! I adore them both on. They may be 2 of the prettiest blush colors on that MAC has done.

I'm considering for school bag but my dad works for Abercrombie so I could get one discounted there, but I love the bag so.... yeah i just wanna make sure its good quality like it wont be destroyed the first week

I just got my AP in yesterday, and I decided to use it today so I could take pictures. It is seriously gorgeous and pigmented! I'm uber pale so just the lightest touch is the best for me, but I did get the courage to add a few layers so that it's brighter, and will show up a little better for you on camera! :) (Excuse the hair, I'm getting ready to go out... and excuse the awkward positions and looks, they were an attempt at capturing the colours! lol)

MAC unless stated otherwise...

EYES: TFSI, Orb (all over lid up to browbone), Girlie (Lid), Jest (inner third + corner), Haux (outer corner + crease), Brown Down (deepen crease, upper & lower lashline), Quarry (brows) Fluidline in Dipdown (upper lashes and lower tightline), Dior Diorshow Waterproof Mascara

FACE: Shiseido Dual Balancing Foundation in I40 Natural Fair Ivory, Benefit Boing in 01, Benefit Erase Paste, MSFN in Light

CHEEKS: AP, Cubic (contouring), Lustre Drops in Pink Rebel (highlight)

LIPS: Pink Treat Cremestick Liner, Lovelorn Lipstick, Tinted Lip Conditioner in Full of Grace

(lol, excuse the weird expression, I found decent lighting and froze! :p)

For me, to make this wearable I need a fairly neutral eye and lip and use the blush as my pop of colour - the palette of pinks worked well here too, though :) I think it would also be gorgeous with browns on the eyes and a nude/neutral lip, or a dramatic silvery smokey eye, a touch of this blush and again a nude/neutral lip. :)

Hope you enjoy, and hope I enable some of you to pick this up! (Thanks HG, Elegant, katred, dxgirly and everyone else on this thread... you didn't let me down! :p)
I find the bag to be very durable. I stuffed it to the max today. It suddenly got hot around here, so I had to throw my sweater and my peacoat in there. Yeah, it held up. Like I said before, though, it's like a cloth material and since the base of it is a very light color, it could stain easily.

I actually really like the bigger lipglass wands as well. I'm thinking about getting the other glosses as well for this reason

Jenn- You look beautiful! AP really works on you. I'm loving it myself although I agree that, yes, it takes a light hand on a fair complexion, but it's worth the added caution. I figure that given the size of the blush and the small amount that's needed, I'll have this for the rest of my life... So if anyone wants to find me in 30 years, I'll be the crazy old broad with a house full of cats and vibrant pink cheeks.

I really loved everything I bought from this collection, which I was surprised at given all the bad buzz. I haven't bought any MAC since VV, but there was no way I could miss Wonder Woman! (Much to my boyfriend's disappointment -- just when he thought it was safe to let me walk past MAC at the mall!)

MA is absolutely gorgeous, and I even enjoy the crazy huge lipgloss applicators. Even if they are ridiculous looking at -- I showed a co-worker and fellow MAC fan one of my glosses the day I bought it because it was just so funny! But I find that I'm getting used to them -- I echo whoever it was that earlier said now the regular applicators feel too tiny!

I even bought two of the quads (Defiance and Valiant), and they've both worked nicely for me this week. I don't regret getting them at all.

Having said that, it's a shame that MAC didn't knock this one out of the park. I was expecting to buy everything in this collection just because it was Wonder Woman, and I didn't.

OTOH, I suppose that's good on my wallet -- I've only bought what I actually plan to wear instead of going nuts and buying things I'll wear once or twice.
