Chanel Fall 2011

I am still on the fence about ordering the blushes from the Byzance collection b/c I am wondering how easy they would be to use. Also I was wondering how the rouge JC would look on lighter skin tones. If anyone has modeling pics (that they are willing to share) of either blush that would be wonderful!

Just a quick note since I am out the door again.
I am so frustrated AGAIN with the poor service I get from the Chanel counter at the flagship Nordie's store in Seattle.

First the good news, I have my Byzance goodies and some things from fall. I got the JC in Rouge, Byzantine l/s, Ebouli e/s and Peridot and Quartz n/p.

I have to travel by bus from another county to get to this store. It is a hassle but they are boutique so they usually have alot of cool stuff.

Since the Byzance goodies were a preorder they were rung up and waiting for me. Except the SA put in the wrong blush. She put in OR. I caught that before I left. Then I decided I wanted the Topkapi quad. Should have checked the bag because she put Prelude in. This would be easier to take if I didn't have to put up with "the attitude" they give every time I come in (these girls act like their customers are beneath them and a bother) and if it weren't such a hassle to get out there in the first place. I have now decided it wasn't meant to be. Will probably cancel my Anniversary order as well I am so steamed.

Quick question about Rouge JC. Is it just me or does it look more raspberry in the pan than red?

^^ So sorry to hear about your experience! What a pain. I hope you get the Byzance quad. So frustrating!

Elegant -- I bet you are looking like a hottie with your new makeup!!

^^ April, I'm so sorry for your hassle! You should seriously talk to the store manager about your experiences! You never know how they'll try to make it up to you

. They shouldn't be allowed to get away with that behavior, and in a FLAGSHIP store!!

Rouge does look a bit raspberry-like in the pan - I described it as a cool color with warm-ish sparkles that sort of cancel each other out - so it's more neutral. It swatches really pretty neutral on my arm - not warm, not really cool. I love it!

Have you seen these? She is fairly pale:

It is really not difficult to work with on pale skin using a very light hand and a smaller skunk brush.

Geeze...sorry for my spelling issues

and I wasn't even drinkin

That had to be the latest UPS delivery - EVER!

April - its not Raspberry, it's more red. I do think that everyones own skin tone may change it a bit. Its still beautiful. I would be soooo ticked if I were you. Call & let them know it. I ALMOST placed my order from that very store! I ordered online instead & now I am glad I did! I feel so bad for you!!! hugs

Okay, back from Nordstroms! lol I went to get out of the house and swatch some lipsticks and RC shines, none of the ones I wanted did they have! So, of course, I had to be foolish and buy other things. They know me by my first name now and treat me like gold, stuffing all sorts of samples in my bag! I ended up getting 2 n/p in Quartz and Graphite and the new e/s in Illusoire. Then off to Bath and Body Works for more stuff on sale. Love stocking up on the lotions, shea butter and hand creams for the winter! The place was mobbed!

Yes, I agree about the blush and am glad of it. Still red, but with that pink tone that makes you think it leans cool. But swatched it is neutral and wonderful. The gold is amazing. Is it fall yet? I want to wear my stuff, but really it does call for sweaters, autumn leaves and crisp days!

Elegant -- sadly, I didn't even notice any spelling errors LOL I have to wait until Wednesday to get mine (the 4th of July is putting it back a day). Can you just hear my fingers drumming while I am waiting??

Elveneyes -- sounds like those Chanel ladies totally have your number LOL Let's just say if I lived near a Chanel counter it would be serious TROUBLE!!

lol If you lived here we would both be constantly talking each other into things! Actually, that is what I like about the saleslady there that I see the most. She is young, sweet and never pushes anything on me. Instead we both play with swatches and colours and if she doesn't like something on me she says so. She doesn't try to persuade me to buy it or anything else.

I could get really hooked on these Chanel e/s's. At first I wasn't sure I liked them. They are dark and pigmented like crazy! But here I am with Prelude (yes, and in my nightgown...time to wash up and get to bed!). The browns, taupes and greys of this quad match my brown and white hair. lol Perfectly! What a riot!

Gorgeous! I really can't wait to get Prelude next. What is the pretty pink color you're wearing on your lips??

Thank you! Mac's Pink Plaid lipstick with Chanel's glossimer in 144....not sure which one that is! They didn't put names on the actual containers, only the boxes which I have already thrown out. Grrr!

^^Isn't that so annoying? I can't stand that so I put a little piece of tape with the name on the side of my glossimers...looks really classy...NOT! Anyway, you can look up the numbers & names on Chanel.com. 144 is Rose dilemma. Love that one.

I agree, I think that's why almost all JCs go a bit warm on me, because I have yellow in my skin. Amy at Cafe Makeup is also warm and you can see how Rose ecrin swatches on her. This is how it looks on me too...very different from the cooler pink pics that I think Michelle posted the link to yesterday comparing RE to Orchid Rose:

Ahh, I do see that difference. I really like how it looks on Amy! So then how does a really pinker blush work/look on you? Do they come out fairly pink or not?

Euro Narcisse looks more cool pink on me, as does Pink explosion (which is the Euro formula too). I haven't tried a US JC yet that looks cool pink on me, just warm pink. I don't have that problem with pink MAC blushes - cool is cool, warm is warm - so either it's something in the US JC formula that interacts with my skin chemistry or it's the sheerness of them that lets my yellow show thru? I am not *that* yellow either, I consider myself more neutral-warm. I know the consensus was that Euro Narcisse really was cooler than US Narcisse anyway and you can see that in pan comparison photos, so I'm not sure that's the greatest example. Anyway, I should try really piling RE onto my cheeks just to see what color it is.

Does RE look as cool on you as in that second link?

Elveneyes -- I will have to try that combo! I love Rose Dilemma glossimer, too

Gail -- it drives me a little bit nuts that they don't put the names on the glossimers, too. I have an index card with all of the names and numbers in my makeup storage. I have amassed quite a collection of them by now and I need to keep them straight. Like your idea of the name right on the tube!

I wish that Rose Dust was compared by Rose Petale and Rose Ecrin -- I think the differences are enough for me to warrant owning all 3 (hopefully LOL).

^YES! do that - I wanna see

do it do it.. Seriously, I was going to say that from your pics, you do not look like you have that strong of a yellow undertone at all.

No, not that cool - somewhere in between :)

Oh you are making it hard to resist the Prelude Quad. I have so many neutral quads & colors but this one looks really good. Fall is really killer!

Oh and I have only one glossimer right now and I keep checking the box to find the name of it because I keep forgetting. I loved it so much I bought a backup.

I just bought another color. Blaise???? I used to have quite a few glossimers but left Chanel for awhile. But now I'm back!
