Rave for Real Techniques brushes

I'm in love with my Real Techniques brushes put out by Samantha of Pixiwoo. They have some unique brush cuts that aren't like anything I've seen from MAC along with some standards that every line has. They are all synthetic but feel delightful. They are every bit as good as my MAC and Illamasqua brushes for sure. Their stippling brush is a slightly larger version of the MAC #130 and it is $9.99. They sell eye brushes in sets of 5 for $15.95 and face kits of 3 for the same price. I know in the US you can get them at Ulta. There is a Facebook page for them where she's posted a couple times about how to find them in other countries. I bought mine during one of Ulta's buy one, get one 1/2 off sales so they were even less expensive. I imagine if someone was patient enough to wait, the deal will come around again. Also, their $9.99 powder brush puts my #150 to shame. My only complaint is that their "skinny" liner brush is way too thick for liquid or gel lining..I've been using it as a booboo fixer and for using shadow under the bottom lash line.

They are really nice, I especially love the stippling brush! Need to get a new one because mine go knocked out a window and into the gutter lol (darn cat).

I have to admit there are a couple of misses in the sets but like everyone else has already mentioned that stippling brush is awesome.

I have the largest powder brush with the goldish handle. It's alright. I mostly use it to apply loose powders and it works fine. I like how the tips of the bristles are white so I remember to clean the brush more often.

I love the buffing brush. I only wish that they sold each brush individually. I would love a few of hte buffing brushes so I didnt have to wash brushes everyday...I dont like the tiny little foundation brush that came with the face collection, but I definitely would like to cehck out the stippling brush!

Now that they are sold in boots I finally got to try them out! I love the stippling brush. It's like the 130 & 188 had a love child. Perfect for applying my face & body foundation. Only gripe is that because they have a flat bottomed handle so they can stand alone it means it too ackward to store with my other brushes in a jar or brush roll.....

The quality is awesome, but can I be the first to say I'm not a huge fan of the look of these? I totally applaud Sam (who I love BTW!) for giving the line its own unique look, but pink, purple, and gold isn't for everyone. But maybe I'm just being shallow...I wish all brushes looked like Illamasqua's. =)

I bought the core brush set. 3 of the 4 brushes are great. The buffer brush is fantastic for foundation. The contour brush is nice for highlighting. I have not contoured with it yet. The tiny concealer brush is great for blending out liner or applying paintpots to the lid (then blend with your finger). The only brush I have not used is the foundation brush because it is too small. I wish they had included an eye shadow brush in place of it. Overall, its a great buy for the money.

I love, love, love the buffer brush perfect for foundation. I also love the blush brush that's kinda small. I had to get used to the size but it keeps me from over doing it. I think they come in the "core" set. I won't bother with the shadow brushes, but I covet those two face brushes. I want to get my hands on another buffer brush.

Ulta has three new ones available now. Setting Brush http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=xlsImpprod4260019 Expert Face Brush http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=xlsImpprod4260015 Fine Eyeliner Brush http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=xlsImpprod4260017 I do wish the ones in the sets were available separately, though. Seems to me like the Buffing Brush, on its own, would be a massive seller.

I love the real technique stipple brush - it was my favorite foundation brush for a while, though I now prefer the sigma f80. But it is a great foundation brush, and it's still my favorite stipple brush for cream products and for super intense powder products that need a light hand! I'm thinking about picking up a second one.

I ordered these last week, including the kabuki brush. They should arrive on Monday!

Even though I've had the other brushes for some time, I've just discovered the contour brush and I love it! It's perfect for both highlighting and contouring. I, too, wish the set brushes were sold separately - I want another contour brush! I may just buy the set in order to get it - I love the buffing brush so I wouldn't mind getting another one of those.

The only that I truly dislike are the brow brush and the pixel-point eyeliner brush. They're too thick for how I want to use them.

I actually ran out to get the Expert Face Brush and the Setting brush after I saw this post. Lol. The EFB is really lovely...it's fat enough that you can buff your foundation in or paint it on the way you would with a normal brush. I love it as an alternative to the best brush in the universe, Coco Beau's Big Fat Firm Foundation Brush.

I tested the EFB with a few different foundations, from a very liquidy foundation to a cream foundation. What I found is that the more liquidy the base, the streakier it will apply with this brush. That's not to say you can't get rid of streaks...it just takes a bit more work to get an even finish. It is absolutely BEAUTIFUL with cream and thicker foundations though.
