MAC Heavenly creature discussion

I like the fact the swirls are much chunkier looking than the Semi-Precious MES for better color selection; and I bet the texture on this will be even nice, with that less glitter overall and more of the texture of my all-time favorites like Hold That Pose and Daylight. Even still, I don't want to dupe colors I still have plenty of from SP. There are a few I know I don't have straight dupes for, though, and if I get a few that are similar to ones I already have, it'll only be if the texture is dramatically better than what I already have (which is why I got a couple of the ED shadows, which were very similar to MES I already had, and I feel OK about that hehe)

HEAVENLY CREATURE (Eyes) (North America - July 5, 2012/ International - July 2012)
Mineralize Eye Shadow $20(USD)/ $24(CAD) - all frost finish
Aurora - Peach, green, and brown melange - I don't usually do well with pale olive greens like Modern Pewter and Dalliance, so if this one actually works on me, I may get it.
Magnetic Attraction - Orange, pink and gold melange - looks warm and glowing apricot. Don't think I've got a dupe and will probably snag this one for my green eyes.
Neo Nebula - Cream, warm amethyst and warm pink melange - may be dupeable, but will get based on texture and if I can get one with plenty of amethyst.
Universal Appeal - Gold, bronze and violet melange - sounds lovely, may be close to Daylight. With the right swirls, may break down and buy.
Invincible Light - Icy white, lavender and warm gold melange - not sure this will do anything for my coloring. will resist unless it's magical.
Earthly - Beige, peach and cool brown melange - I skipped Havana, since it was the wrong cool brown for me. Probably won't need this either, fingers crossed, especially if it's not nicer than Twilight Falls.
Water - Yellow, lime green and blue melange - Looks like a combo of Jade's Fortune and Unsurpassable, but with bigger swirls to pull from. I don't honestly need it, but it sure is pretty. Will probably resist.
Bright Moon - Grey, silver and icy green melange - one of those colors that usually doesn't look good on me. 'Looks like Hint of Sapphire, which is also a color I usually can't wear, but somehow works on me - so the verdict is out for reason of possible dupe and/or if it works.
Sky - Green gold, turquoise and cobalt melange - for sure getting this one - the cobalt shade is perfect and is going to be a huge color going forward into Fall. Here's hoping it's nice and dense, rather than being too sheer.

I'm going to finally get the duo fiber eye brush, I bet. I'm not interested in the VAE, so all you other ladies can have mine! 'Still going to be an expensive haul for me, whatever way you cut it.

so many of the med sound amazing to me but sky is also the one that will be jumping into my cart! :) i'm still undecided on if i want to buy the VAE. can you believe after all these years i have never tried it?! but i tend to just use my clarisonic for exfoliating now - no need for an actual scrub of any sorts :)

I'm so stoked for this collection, it's unbelievable. Usually, I order everything I'm pretty sold on online to avoid the hassle at the counter and then go to the counter on the weekend and scope out the "maybe" items, but with HC I don't care what I have to do I will be at the counter on release day to look at everything (and buy everything:) as soon as the mall opens. If I'm working that day and I'm late, my boss, she will just have to understand....:bigstar:

I haven't tried it either, but I'm a little leery of mechanical exfoliants in general. They leave micro-tears in the skin, which never sounds like a good thing to me. I usually use chemical exfoliants on my skin. I'll need to see how rough it is before committing.

I just realized my regular MUA is going to be on mat leave when this collection comes out, and probably when testers come in too—darn it. I hope we get some good swatches before the release.

Thank you so much for the descriptions! Although if Bright Moon looks like Hint of Sapphire, I wonder if I'll really need it. I passed on HoS last year, although I did give it some thought. You've made me consider Universal Appeal, though, since I regret not getting Daylight when it came out.

I really don't like the CSG formula, but I'm tempted by Venus, since it's my astrological ruling planet.

I usually don't look that great in pale blue shadow, and HoS is one of the very few that not only works on me, but enhances my eye color as well. It's one of my favorite SP MES, for sure. Bright Moon sounds like it could be very similar, but maybe with a little more greenish cast, which actually might make it less workable for me than HoS. Time will tell.....

I'm through with scrub exfoliants for my face - there are products out there that are so much better, it's a total no-brainer. If that had been the volcanic ash mask being repro'ed, I would have been excited, though. I've had some fantastic volcanic mud body mask treatments in the past - so wonderfully detoxing and relaxing.

Does anyone know what size the VAE will be. I would like to think it will be a larger size than what was released years ago, its $8.00 more.

If its the same size as before I won't be too surprised since MAC is increasing the prices on some things.

Here's a picture of one of the MES and also Lazy Sunday from Casual Colour. She does not really say anything about them:

That mes looks awesome! I also do not see big glitter particles so maybe these won't have much fall out.

Yes....that is perfect!!!

And that is the reason why I will get them even if a few of them might look similar to the ones from SP.
Also I really like the swirls, it means you'll be able to pick out the colours individually.

Team Swirl! I won;t mind if we have a Hint Of Sapphire repeat, I missed too much of the MES on Semi Precious. I will definitely need to go swirl hunting though, so I have a feeling I will have to see these IRL and pick my preferred swirl pattern at the counter. SHeesh, I hate going to the mall, but sometimes it is necessary.

Collection news from my MA!

Yesterday I asked him a few questions about this collection. His usual attitude is a little mixed about Mineralize products, but he feels this is the best Mineralize collection he's seen overall. Not all products are created equal in his mind, since about half the blushes and MSFs have glitter, which he isn't a fan of. The best blushes have sheen instead, but they all have the pigmentation and performance of the Naturally blushes. I guess it'll be up to you if you don't want glitter, whether you will be getting them all. He couldn't remember which colors had the glitter vs. which didn't, but I'm hoping the one that looks like Fresh Honey is one of the glittery ones, just because I wasn't going to get that one anyways

.

The MSFs are in the same boat - the glittery ones he didn't care for, but the sheeny ones he says are as good as the EDSFs - just as smooth and sheer!! I'm excited for them - even the glittery ones maybe!

Thanks for the update! Glitter and my pores do not go together, so I'll be skipping those. Sheen please! And I loved the Naturally blushes, so I'm really excited about this!
