OKAY so I need some opinions please! I have fallen in love with Center of the Universe and Earthshine msf's from this collection! My only problem is.........to back up or not to back up?
I don't know if I could ever get through an entire msf.... but you guys know the feeling of not being able to sleep peacefully without a backup of something you love and LE, right?!
Orrr, should I save my money to get the other 2 msf's in the collection?
What has everyone been doing? I'd love to hear!

I felt the same way about Starwonder, I still feel the same way, but logically I know I will not hit pan for years and years. I did like you said, and used the money to get other items, specifically supernova and solar ray, products I originally was thinking of passing on. I'm so glad I bought them.

Though I DO have to admit, earthshine is SUPER unique. That burgundy is sooo gorgeous.

andabri- awesome :) Star Wonder is one I'm interested in and its good to hear you love it so much! I will remain strong and resist the backups! After all...I have backed up 2 things from MAC before and they're both lip products that are still sitting in my drawer untouched.. :/

Warm Blend is my favorite MSF EVER!!!

Mine has a major dip in it, I hope to see MAC repremote this baby soon!

To b/up or not, that is the question.

Well, I have b/ups and am glad I do. Some of my favorite msfs have not been recently re-promoted: Warm Blend, Brunette, So Ceylon. I have b/ups of them. I also just picked up another Petticoat from an outlet because I love that shade and have already used one up and have turned other folks on to msfs with it.

It is up to you. Buy all 4 and rotate or buy b/ups of your absolute favorites.

But don't forget that there is always something like it in the MAC pipeline.

Another thought, If you don't have a lot of msfs, for example, you may want to back these up (if you are not a collector and have a ton of them).

My sister, for example, has used up 2 Warm Blend(s) during the past 2 years. Needless to say, she doesn't have that many msfs.

MAC is cruel! Cruel, cruel, MAC! My wallet hates you!

Wow, I can't even imagine finishing an MSF. How long did it take you to finish Peitticoat?

I guess if I wasn't into MBs—and so pale that I wear just a swipe—I probably could. I only have four MSFs but I touch them sparingly.

I've never dreamed of spending so much on a collection, but this has been right up my alley. MAC is cruel lol

The cremesheen glasses! I want all of them! I got Astral to being with, next one my list are Galaxy Rose and Meteoric, we'll see. Astral is stunning, and there's never been a CSG similar to it.

Venus and Fire Sign are amazing as well. Everyone seems to be gaga over the swirls, but IMO the lip products are the best in a really long time - I just wasn't into the super bright coral craze.

I'd rather BU a product that I know will be used regularly than use it and need another one without the ability or money to buy a new one(ie Metal Rock or Pleasureflush). And if I don't use it I can sell my unused or used MSF without a problem. I won't get into the rest of it but whatever floats your boat!

You know, I was BTMing for two lippies last Thursday.

Venus was one of them, and I swatched it and thought, "ok, it looks just like any other medium pink lippie, but I will get it". No big deal...BUT then I put it on when I got home,
and OMG... I couldn't stop staring at my lips. LOL!

Don't know what it is about this damn pink lipstick, but I like it!

I have backed up 3 MSF's. The first was Stereo Rose which I absolutely love. I use it as a blush, and I have hit pan on my first one. There is still some product around the edges. The second was Lightscapade. I really wasn't planning on getting a BU, but this was during the "beigescapade" release. I was ordering and hunting for one with great veining. The third is COTU. I put it on the first time and was hooked - just like I was with Stereo Rose.

I say if you love it & know that will use it, then back it up.

I've never backed anything up, although I've used up and replaced both basic items (foundations/powders/etc.) and old favourites (certain lippies, eye and lip liners, etc). This is the first year that I've bought LE items and my collection has really grown. I've found so many items that I love this year that I don't doubt that the same will be true next year (and the one after). I seriously doubt that I'm going to hit pan on many (if any) of the ridiculous number of blush I now own; it took me years to hit pan on a couple when I only owned three. That was during a period when I didn't always wear makeup (I was a SAHM for a few years and rarely bothered), but I haven't even made an indentation on any of the ones I'm using now.

I already feel that I shouldn't purchase much more and I know if I had backups then that would just make that conviction stronger. I know there will continue to be products I just love and want to get so I feel no desire to buy backups. I think I'll get more pleasure out of enjoying something new later. I'll replace some favourites if they're still available, but I honestly can't imagine getting through most of what I have now. I enjoy everything I have, but I have to believe that there's a decade of blush (at least) in my drawer.

I had no highlighters so I know I'll enjoy the two MSF I bought and they're very different from each other.

For those of you who back up your favourite products, do you find that you actually go through them all?

The only things I have hit pan on or had to buy again(not including foundation, makeup removers or Fix Plus) are: MSFN in Medium Plus and Fig. 1 e/s.

None of my LE products I have actually gone through and wished I had a replacement (so far).

NOW on that note, I am getting close to pan on By Candlelight and Warm Blend MSF.

I'm with you on this Richelle.... ESPECIALLY with ANYTHING mineralized! They are SO fragile, so I feel it necessary to BU the ones I love the most not JUST out of worry that I will finish one, but also out of worry that one could VERY EASILY break! I dropped an MSF on CARPET one time from chair seat level and it cracked to pieces! There is no way I'm going to feel bad about backing up a product that I LOVE... Breaking, misplacing, losing... NEVER need that stress over a GREAT product. And I HATE when I feel like I can't really use a product I love as much as I want out of fear of using it all up and there being nothing on its level to replace it... If it's LE and I fall in LOVE with it.... I'M BU! Better to have a product to swap or sell than mourning the loss of a HG item.

PS.. My Shellcat wanting more of her beloved Warm Blend comes to mind here too! You can't even find that sucker on eBay!

Here's the look I wore on my anniversary yesterday wearing my HC goodies. I just realized I'm wearing all of my fav things from this collection lol
I have Neo Nebula on my lids (I put a light layer of Young Venus under it), Star Wonder on my cheeks (woh this is really pigmented! I had to use powder to tone it down) and Venus on my lips

Right?! I dont know what it is either! It just has something about it. I just love the sheen it gives your lips.

I have to say, I really gotta stop reading this thread after my first haul I ended up going back for more I now have all the lipsticks, all four blushes and skin finishes. I only have two of the cremesheen, and I am almost tempted to go back and get the rest. The only thing I haven't purchased are the MES I'm just not a fan of those. Now I have a couple of questions:

1. Do any of you recommend the volcanic ash exfoliator?
2. Can any of you recommend a good sun block with at least a 35 SPF that won't leave my skin looking white so that I may use it under my make up?

I am currently in Florida for the summer and my skin is not used to this extreme amount of sun, anyways thanks in advance.

I broke mine! I was so upset, I just loved that color! I cant wait till it gets repromted. My Light Year reminds me of it though, just not as shimmery
