LOL sorry bout that haha. Yeah It's a vicious cycle. You dont want break LE products cause if you dont have a BU you'll have to wait till its repromoted. And who knows when that will be! I also broke my prep and prime powder a couple days after I bought it! I was pisssed. Thank goodness its perm. I think the only face product I've ever backed up was Lightscapade, and that was just because of the beigescapade fiasco. I sooo wish I would have backed up the peach blush from Quite Cute and Oh So Fair bp from VV. I can def see me hitting the pan on those!

I don't think a cardboard box will help much. When you carry mineralize products in your bag (or worse, your suitcase), they will get traumatized resulting in micro fractures that inevitably will cause the product to break over time.

If you are skilled at depotting, I'd say go for it (saving space sounds awesome!) but leave your MES/MSF/MB at home when traveling. I hope that cosmetic companies will develop a technology that makes mineralize products less fragile. I really like MSF's for the beach, but it's just not worth it.

THIS is my ONLY gripe with these products! I love them so much, but they are stay-at-home-items FOR SURE!! Which is SO disappointing when you love one so much and can't take it on vacation or a work engagement. I feel like I have my pretty mineralized home face and then my travel face... Travel face always seems so lost w/o a gorg MSF!
(I DO travel with my VERA Pearlmatte though and that highlight shade always tieds me over until I get home! FF's outer rim highlight is so yummy!)

Haha Pinkdollface, did you call around noon? I was at the Counter back then and somebody was swirl hunting for Light Year and Star Wonder by phone. That must have been you. I couldn't resist my HC hunger and bought Magnetic Attraction (never should have swatched it, it's so lovely!), Earthly and Center of the Universe. I've asked the MUA to apply CofU on the one cheeck and Stratus on the other. We both did like CofU, but Stratus didn't suit me. I bought Pleasureseeker as well. Now I am officially done, however, Celestial Kiss is calling my name...... (it is nice on top of Pleasureseeker).

Liba, I've swatched the see green colour of Bright Moon, but is was too cool for me. The tester of water didn't contain any green, so I could not check the lovely shine you were referring to.
The tester definitely reminded me of my Jade's Fortune, so I decided to skip as I also own Unsurpassable. You mentioned that Water with lots of blue veining is quite similar to JF and you are absolutely right. Thanks very much for your help.

You were a very big fan of the Semi Precious collection just as I was and I could have written your post about lying wide awake during the night thinking about al the beautiful SP veining myself, haha. For that reason I really was curious about your baby! I am really happy you got a healthy boy. Yeah, small children are really time consuming but like you I also make time to do my make up every single day.

an mua told me when I went in to buy these eyeshadowsstat since they are so fragile she recommended traveling with them in their cardboard box...for those who are traveling with them, hope that helps!

When I travel I always have towels with me so I can wipe off my dirty brushes. I use those towels also to keep fragile products safer.

I am leaving for summer holiday this Saturday and only have a couple of days left to play with my new HC goodies. Almost made me wish to stay at home. ;-) But like you said, Mac-Guy, better safe than sorry, so they will stay at home.

I asked a colleague once to pick up an SP eyeshadow for me with a special veining (I was too ashamed to go to the counter for the sixth time in a week, haha) and she helped him. He told me she was doing her best to look for the best veining they got!

When you called I was just thinking "hey there is another Macaddict like Pinkdollface and myself who also is looking for the best swirls, not knowing it was you.

I couldn't resist the lip products any longer.

Is there anybody who bought Celestial Kiss? How do you like it?

Yes she's so sweet! I talked to her and Veronique a lot. Do you know the name of the darker skinned girl (I try to learn all the names)? She's also nice, but I speak less with her. I'm so happy they understand the importance of getting the best swirls

The pearlmattes are pressed so hard, they are definitely safe to travel. I love FF. I wouldn't mind more p/m in the near future.

You are making me want Solar Ray! Lol. I swatched it at the store but I thought it was too shimmery. Maybe it was the tester?

Naw, SR is a shimmerbomb. :/ But somehow it's magic on me and gives me these really pretty, sunkissed and glowy cheeks. I'm very fair and use a light hand, so I think that's the key.

Mac-Guy, ah, the Pearlmattes are going to France together with me then! I haven't had the chance to play with them a lot, since there were so many skin products released over the last couple of months. They are going to get all of my attention the coming weeks.

I bought the last Magnetic Attraction at my Counter, but the swirl is horrible: it is kind of heart shaped lacking the bright yellow colour which makes it so special. It does have a lot of orange instead, but it is the yellow that does make it stand out to me.

Thatkanojo: do you have both Light Year and Solar Ray? How do they compare?

I'm going to check at my counter to see if they still have Solar Ray and try to pick up a back up with the least amount of gold. I really love the peachy-pink base colour.

This is EXACTLY what I did lol. With a big orange swirl it looked too similar to NARS Luster on my cheek so I looked for the one with the smallest/thinnest gold veining. I ended up buying one with a thin gold vein. I'll try to post pics.

Over the weekend, I lost my MES virginity! I wanted to wade gently into the waters, so (thanks to Pretty Kitty's lovely FOTD enabling) I started with Earthly.

Holy smokes, when I was at the counter on Friday, their Earthly was already broken! Made me so sad (and overly cautious).



After triple checking that my MES was safe and unbroken (knock on wood), I brought it home and was itching to try it out. At first, I thought I would try the Jaunty/Earthly look that Pretty Kitty posted, but decided to go w/ a smoky-ish eye since I was going out later that night.




Earthly (used dry) on the lid, Mystery to deepen the crease/outer third, Soba to blend it all out and I think Blanc Type as a highlight (can't remember). I also used Soft Ochre PP as a base and TFSI as a primer. (sorry for the weird pics, only had my phone with me that day). Loved that I was able to smoke it out without being overly dramatic.

I always avoided MES b/c I thought they'd irritate my eyes and fallout would be a pain, but Earthly was surprisingly easy to work with! I'm really excited to try more looks with it and can't wait to see how it looks foiled (which I've never before! Exciting).

Thinking about picking up Neo Nebula next. Pinkdollface posted a lovely look using NN with Sketch!

I use FF SO much! I have a BU thank god! I also grabbed SA but haven't tried that one yet. FF is definitely the perfect shade for me... so I'm not sure I'll like SA as well as FF, but it was still for sale on the MAC site so I added it one order just because they are so nice! I like that they are so sturdy for travel. I would probably buy BU's of my BU's if they come out with more Pearlmattes like these too!

I just called my Mac counter because I wanted a BU of Light Year and Star Wonder and luckily they weren't sold out! The MUA was sweet enough to look for a LY with the least amount of gold and a SW with the most pink. I can pick them up tomorrow! I think I'm going to order a BU of Earthshine as well, because mine has a small crack. I love COTU as well, but not enough to get a BU, I think...

Ahhhh all these breakage posts are making me feel a little anxious.


So both my Starwonder and Earthshine have small cracks in them, about 1/3 of an inch or so, does that mean they are more prone to breaking? I didn't think it was a big deal, now I'm not so sure...

If you won't travel with them you won't have to worry as much. My By Candlelight has a small crack too and it has been there for over a year and it's still fine. But I want to take these with me sometimes so that's why I got back ups.
