MAC for Marilyn

Holy crap!!!! Such a beautiful shade on you. I am praying it will look as nice on my lips as it does yours.

Love Goddess is such a bitch to photograph!! It was fuchsia while I wore it at work, this morning it's dark cool toned red with slight pink undertones, and yesterday night it was a red pink with warm undertones. WTF?

Anyway, here is a pic of it on my lips, natural lighting with a bit of sunshine so slightly warmer. I hate doing lip swatches when the colour change like that. And my review is on the blog, link is in my signature.

Thanks for the review Cartoonchic. I swatched Palpitante next to the YSL Rose Crazy when I was searching for a new lippie and Rose Crazy was a bit more pink just like you say Love Goddess is. Now I'm even more sure Rose Crazy could be a dupe except that it's matte and Love Goddess is a satin.
I was able to get my money back for the wrong lipstick instead of waiting to exchange it and I could buy Rosy Crazy at another counter, so I already got it yesterday. It's such a gorgeous pinky red! I didn't have time to take a picture but I will do later. I bought Beet the day before yesterday to go with it, but since I didn't have it yesterday morning already I tried Beet underneath Runaway Red. Why didn't I get Beet before?! I love love love it underneath Runaway Red!

I've swatched the three YSL mattes we have here in the US and they're on my to get list. Now I'm curious about the other shades. Rose Crazy looks beautiful on you! I need to get all 3 of the liners. I didn't have a lot of red lipstick until only the past few months, so now I need to invest in red liners.

But TBH, I only post a lippie pic when I love it! So I don't capture the ones I've tried that didn't work! LOL!! TRUST ME, there have been lots of lipsticks that I still am trying to figure out! (Yung Rapunxel comes to mind!)

And Pinkdollface... you are making me search darn YSL lippies! That's pretty much the only lipstick brand I have avoided so far! (Have some of their glosses and they are wonderful!!) You and your darn pretty lips!

BTW... I'm LOVING Beet liner too and was just asking myself the same thing today! HeeHee

But around the holidays there are a lot of discounts so maybe that would be a nice time to get some of these YSL lippies or ask for them as a gift. I'm slowly getting into high end lipsticks. Luckily there are only 6 lippies in this YSL formula.
Funny that you were thinking the same about Beet! I was thinking about it for some time, but I always thought why get it when other liners are working fine. Well now I know why!

I think I've decided to go ahead and get Pure Zen now instead of waiting to get it later. I already know I love the color, so might as well pay the extra $1.50 to get it in the Marilyn Monroe packaging and complete the set.

I was having skipper's remorse about not getting Deeply Adored...even whined to a friend about it. I passed on it because of the deep hue, not realizing it was my fav formula...Matte. My friend has it but doesn't wear red so she's sending it to me. Such luck!!!

It's amazing to me that there was a lot of trash talk about this collection and it sold out in record time. I guess that proves that in spite of negative reviews, we makeup enthusiasts will decide for, and amongst ourselves what we choose to love.

It's seems weird to me that YSL only gives you 3 colours. We have a darker colour Prune Virgin that is more purple than the one sold in the US Grenat Statisfaction and I preferred it because of the purple. Than we also have a red Rouge Scandal that is darker than the red Rouge Rock sold in the US. I want that one too I think, but I'm waiting for the Marilyn reds to see if they are close. I kinda want Rouge Rock too because it's inspired by Queen and looks lovely, but I have something close already I think.

Omg LG is so beautiful! I hope I can manage to get my hands on it! Only Concern is, I already have enough fuchsias, I was hoping it would pull more red with pink. And it feels like a lot of times colors are bolder and/or brighter on me compared to most people. And I think that would pull out the fuchsia more.

I'm in the same boat. Reds and pinks are so tricky. I actually want LG to pull pinker on me, but from what I can tell it's redder than Moxie and Moxie is quite red on me. Maybe if you use a red liner it would help it not look fuschia? I'm afraid LG won't look exactly how I'm wanting it to, but it still seems like a must-have because of how people are saying that it transforms in different lighting.

Lol, you're not making the wait for me to get these any easier. Oh no, a matte purple you say?! I only have two YSL lipsticks and they're both purple. Pourpre Divin and Violet Singulier. Pourpre Divin is still my HG purple. I had three, but returned one - Forbidden Burgundy only because the Rouge Volupté formula doesn't agree with me. I think YSL does purple extremely well. Please post comparison swatches with the Marilyn reds if you can. I would love to see them. (And a swatch of Prune Virgin too!

eyes I used nyx milk on lid with pure flash over it, soft brown on crease, pure flash on brow, black fluidline, and loreal voluminous million lashes mascara, nyx milk on ducts

Okay. Some may find this a tad weird or OCD, at best but, I catalog my products. I have a database of every product that I own. Why do this you ask? To keep myself from unintentionally buying more than one of a particular item. I also have them categorized by color so I can identify my stock at-a-glance. Anyway, for October I thought the hardest part would be coordinating pink lippies, eye shadow and nail polish with my wardrobe choices. I will wear a lot of monochromatic looks...all black, all beige or all winter white or all burgundy clothing with pink accents. For casual looks I have pink sweaters to wear with jeans etc. And then I thought, woman up and wear pink and orange if you want to and even burgundy with pinks. I guess the only limits are between my ears...the ones that I impose upon myself. Like you, I love pink and have no problem wearing all pink in varying shades and hues, which is probably what I'll end up doing. Actually it will be a challenge and even fun to see what combos I can come up with.
