I use TS as a blending/transition color on the cheeks and/or as a statement blush. The sheen is quite apparent, so IMO, it doesn't work at all as a contour.* TS will work as a blush on special occasions where you want to stand out with a very unusual blush color. It also makes a stellar 5 o' clock shadow where you don't want to be completely matte (a bit of a sheen will emphasize beard stubbles but I guess that's not what you want ;-)

For proper contouring, I'm sticking to Bon Beige, Sculpt or Coffee Walnut as a contour as they are neutral/cool and matte. A shiny contour defeats the purpose of contouring; in fact, in most cases it will just look wrong.



* I think it works on the models/fashion week images as they have very high cheek bones, in which case the sheen doesn't bother the contour.

This must be why I don't see the sheen on my cheeks, unless I turn my head on the side so the light can hit that part of the cheek.

You have divine cheekbones, thus you can get away with TS as a contour

I reach for my Stereo Rose all the time! I am 'NC 20 for reference and it doesnt look metallic at all on me... I think I will get a backup

Do you have any of the MAC sculpting powders?

I really like TS, but as a contour, it fails due to the very apparent sheen. For contouring, I prefer Bon Beig, Sculpt, or Harmony.

Funny, the sheen wasn't apparent on me, but I used it without foundation. I wonder if that has an impact - it sure did with the MBs from Apres Chic (no way I'd wear those over even medium foundation). It's so nice to have something that needs minimal effort like TS does for me. I couldn't wear it as an actual blush, though.

I've got Coffee Walnut as my main contour, or sometimes the creme blend blush from the Desert Camo compact - normally, I'd rather have a cream contour, because of my dry skin.

I spent years never contouring because I felt my face was too pudgy and flat to figure out a convincing way to do it, but since I lost a bunch of weight a couple years ago, my bone structure works much better for it. If the texture's right, I'd try more powder contours again, since I've had good luck with TS and Alpine Bronze….always up for something new!

Ok I have been doing some major MAC hauling. In Orlando I went to the Vineland CCO and purchased Lightscapade, Vile Violet, the beige Cruella eye color sorry forgot the name, and the Volcanic Ash face mask. just placed my order for Winter Oursuit, Ice, Fireside, Alpine Bronze, Pink Porclain, Rosy Romance, slightly Nude, Pure and Tender, Candy Yum Yum, Nicki Minaj, Haute Altitude, and Pro Concealer Palette in Meduim. And a friend is sending me Stereo Rose. Merry Christmas ya'll!

I think once the products launch in stores some items may sell out. I think there was a bigger hype over Strength with the bright lipsticks. Not to mention some items were repromoted so they already had some hype from their previous launch last year. And Strength is MAC store and online only.

One Apres Chic launches in stores and people are able to gauge swatches and whether the products will work for them, items will sell out.

I think it will do well. People will be at the malls tomorrow with their Christmas cash and gift cards! Personally, I'm passing on this one and Strong Woman. I'm saving for Archie's Girls.

That's exactly what I'm thinking, I've been feenin for stereo rose for so long I freaked out and rushed to order 3 for fear of selling out lmao.

so am I! But as everyone stated, after people see it in stores , I'm sure items will sell out! I know I'm waiting to check some things out before purchasing I'm shocked stereo rose is available, I also ordered 3

Not only are people waiting for stores but mac still hasnt sent out the email notifications saying collections are up. But i bet by thursday most things will be soldout in this collection

Also, the quantities on the products in this collection were much larger than the ones for Strength. I know my usual store got in dozens of everything.
