oh god, have you seen Carrot Top lately???

Plastic surgery + steroids nightmare (plus crappy makeup on top of it all). He was kinda boyishly cute way back when he was first starting out (not that I want to comment on his comedy act, lol).
So I'm having serious trouble falling asleep tonight, and I've decided to blame this picture. I hope you're happy, liba! I can't sleep for fear of nightmares about that face!

she got really negative with mac all of a sudden and that;s the kind of people she attracts, negative people. if you read the comments they havent liked any of the past mac collections, because they never get to test the products for themselves. all the do is repeat what she says.
Sooo true. That's why I moved to Specktra. All that toxic juju in T just drove me away.

oh noooo she stole yo shhhhhhyt??? i must say i been crackin up at ur last few comments esp when she does call out other folks for not crediting her!! she has been pretty harsh on mac lately but i dnt necessarily take her word cuz i like to go n swatch n try for myself for a final verdict. she totally dogged out n TRASHED their office collection! i was like well dmnnnnn

Nah, she didn't. And from what I've seen, a good amount of MAC's products have been going downhill in a huge way lately, they have completely stopped caring. Their eyeshadows (singles and palettes) have been especially bad, almost always dry and having very little pigment even over a good base. Some of the blushes have been bad too, and the Office Hours collection never should have been put thru with the horrible quality all the products had. I was pretty sad because I really liked some of the colors. They should just give up and make all eyeshadows Extra Dimension from now on, those things are amazing.

T didn't steal pics? But why are a couple of girls on here saying that she did? Why would they lie about that and if you're so sure how do you know? I'm asking because I was not around when all of that stuff happened and honestly believe the girls on here before I would believe T. I hope your don't feel offended, because that's really not how this is meant. I'm just wondering.
I do not agree that so many products were bad. I actually thought this was a great year for Mac

I feel like often the problem with for example quads is, is that people swatch them with their fingers and some textures just can handle that and you really shouldn't touch them at all with your fingers. When they are swatched with a brush and never before touched with fingers they can be great.
I do hope Mac will release more EDES, because indeed those were amazing!

In addition, strong pigmentation is not necessarily a sign of quality. Some of my HG products are low in pigmentation, but that's exactly what I like about them. While we've seen a lot of bold lips, there has also been a growing trend for sheer eye make up that is much more subtle than in previous years. Personally, I love it. It allows you to contour your eyes with a much wider range of colors w/ looking made up. I don't care much for bold lips, but I love that so many were available last year and I enjoyed all the lovely swatches and FOTD images of bright lippies.

What I don't understand is that so many people leave negative comments on T's site when she posts about MAC. If you don't like a brand, why do you even bother to look at what they offer? It seems a waste of time that 90% of the comments are about "how much one hates MAC." Sadly, T's reviews just feed into these comments and it seems that her site thrives celebrating how disappointed she is with MAC. I think she would be better off reviewing the brands she likes. And if there are colors that are clearly not suited for her complexion, she needs to stay away from them. It's her robotic swatch routine that turns me off.
On a positive note, she has still the best lip swatches. They might not be color true due to various issues (lighting, photoshop [?!]), but her lips are perfect for swatches.

Yup I agree with most you said.
I also don't understand why someone would review a brand or look into it when they don't like it. I mean you want to spend your life doing thing you like, don't you? It is ok if you don't like a certain brand, but just leave it at that instead of repeating that you don't like it everywhere. I'm not just talking about T here, but mainly the people that put the comments there. I do understand that T might feel like she needs to review every Mac product that comes out, because people ask her, but if those same people leave comments that they hate the brand and don't like this and that why does she still bother? I feel a bit sad for her that she gets all those comments, I mean I would not feel so happy anymore reviewing the brand if people that comment don't like it anyway. I still read her reviews, but also use my past experience and reviews on here to make final decisions. Her lipswatches are indeed great.

I haven't been on Specktra for long so I don't really know much about the swatch stealing thing unfolded, but I find it hard to believe that anyone would accuse T of stealing their swatches for no reason. On the other hand, T should be the last person to resort to such behaviour because she has been blogging long enough to know these things don't go unnoticed.

I do most of my makeup shopping without seeing the products in person so makeup blogs, including T, are a godsend. The more different swatches around, the better. I think she's done an awesome job over the years and I don't think she's necessarily being unfair to MAC. It's her blog and she's perfectly entitled to her opinions, even though I don't agree with them half the time. What I find bizarre are the worshippers BTL, singing her praises and wildly affirming her every word. It's almost like a strange little cult.

Yup. Her lip freckle really helps me assess how opaque a lipstick is.

I agree with this. I have a couple a couple of office hours e/s and they are perfect for blending out the crease. I can't have all my e/s the same finish even though I loved edes.

I heard through the grapevine that by the end of next week, most stores and counters should have received their stock for this collection. This means you can go and swatch in the backroom. I know I will!
