Yeah I'm seriously into Veronica's side of the collection. I don't know if this has been discussed before but how in the world do lippies from this collection end up on Ebay a month before it comes out. That blows my mind.....

I'm on Team Veronica as well. I do, however, like that Betty is an animal lover, but besides that her colors are a little too "sweetie pie" for me. Veronica is more of a vixen and her colors are more my type.

So I was at the MAC store the other day and heard a MA telling a customer the AG collection is coming out, "based on the comics from, like, the early 90s."
blink.gif
I was never really into Archie comics, but I'm pretty sure they started sometime in the 40s. Now, I don't blame the girl for not knowing when Archie comics were around (and, btw, I'm pretty sure they still make these comics today, don't they?), but I kind of feel like if she wasn't familiar with them, there would've been nothing wrong with simply saying the collection is based on the comics. Why give a random decade? Just give the information you know, lol.

on me.

Yes they still make Archie comics, they actually got a reboot in the 90'd but they are old! The style was finalized in the 50'd but yes the first serials where in the 40's ;)

This is the first time I heard of this Carrot Top personality and I honestly thought the pic was someone's idea of a Photoshop prank.

Poor chap. It must be awful seeing that in the mirror each day.
I just looked at a bunch of pictures

awful! But he is nearing 50 and not all gingers age well, he's trying too hard.

I feel like I want a few things from this collection, but I am justn ot sure I am in love with the packaging. I think I am like the only person who is not a fan of the archie theme lol.

Goodness. Peeps on T's site talk so much s**t about Mac everytime she posts something on them. It's quite annoying. Cmon color story!!!!
I've noticed this too! A lot of hate for MAC over there! They spend so much energy hating. Move along then and stop wasting time!

This is my first time back on here since the madness of the holidays! I'm still so excited and saving my pennies for this launch it probably is the most sentimental value of launches for me that MAC has put out since I've been buying from them. I'm glad to see pictures leaking out of the collection. Has anyone been invited to the launch party? I wish I leaved somewhere in reasonable distance to attend one. I think the closest to me is 3 hours away:( (Boston or New York)

How weird! Yes, they still make the comics. I work near a comic store and see the comics every time I walk by to get my coffee. They are cute little mini-book comics.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE his hair and color. I don't like very long hair on men (my own personal opinion), but it looks good on him. He also seems like a "pretty" boy. I like my men a tad bit more masculine looking. Brad Pitt isn't my type, but someone like Liam Neeson is.
I normally have no interest in the young'uns like this guy (or long hair on a guy, for that matter), but his hair is indeed glorious and I'm sure in 15+ years he'll mature into some excellent masculine looks. He's got a brother who's got the same hair too…

When I was younger, I did not like gingers at all, but now I'm definitely equal opportunity

I like the packaging for this collection. I think its cute., but I know what you mean. Before I was into Mac, I noticed the packaging for other collections and thought they were tacky as hell but they are some of the most popular collections mac has.

I'm probably in the minority, but I don't like heavily pigmented eyeshadows. I hate the Naked palette, and it seems to be everyone's HG. I found it challenging to get a light enough application.

I don't like a heavy makeup look, particularly now that I'm getting older. I rocked 80s makeup looks when younger but find a more subtle makeup look to be more flattering now. That doesn't mean I won't wear a bold red lip or that I have a no makeup look, but simply that I find a more subdued application looks better and is more appropriate (professionally, etc).

I love EDES - I have five. I also love MAC's standard eyeshadows; I have two complete 15-pan palettes, 3 duos and a few loose singles. There's nothing wrong, IMO, with their regular eyeshadows. There's no question that I think some shades are easier to work with than others, but part of that is personal preference (I don't like overly frosty/metallic wet look shades as a rule) and part application technique (I use a VERY light hand when applying some of my fave uber pigmented shades like Peacock, Bottle Green and Indian Ink and don't like shades that can't be applied in a sheer way). Having said that, any company with this many launches and products WILL have some duds. I expect that. I've really come to love NARS e/s and blush, but I think the entire Andy Warhol collection is a massive disappointment. I didn't like some of MAC's launches this year either. That doesn't mean I hate MAC or that others are 'wrong' who liked them, simply that we all have preferences and use products in slightly different ways and that will play into our perception of a product's quality.

Whether or not T's opinions reflect many of those here has been debated multiple times since I arrived. I personally greatly value her swatches and pics; they've been tremendously helpful to me. As for opinions, we're all entitled to our own and I have no problem with someone having a different one than mine. Reading a variety of perspectives on a product is helpful; in the end I make up my own mind. I don't think that she gives MAC consistent low marks; I've seen plenty of A ratings lately. She posted an update earlier this week to let people know that the Strength lippies had been restocked so those who missed out could get them. She doesn't care for MES and is pretty up front about that while acknowledging that some others love them. The woman is entitled to her opinion and I've never understood the distain that is sometimes heaped on her for sharing her thoughts on her own blog . It's impossible to please everyone and I think that a blogger should be true to his/her beliefs and values. People are free to read or not. If I consistently don't agree with someone's opinions or don't enjoy their blog, I just don't go back. Problem solved.
Well said!

I honestly don't care for the packaging either, I'm just hopping there are products I like from it as I can only see myself getting maybe 3 things.

  oh noooo she stole yo shhhhhhyt???  i must say i been crackin up at ur last few comments esp when she does call out other folks for not crediting her!! she has been pretty harsh on mac lately but i dnt necessarily take her word cuz i like to go n swatch n try for myself for a final verdict. she totally dogged out n TRASHED their office collection! i was like well dmnnnnn
She sho did! It was actually fellow members who pointed it out to me, as i had no clue at all that she did. They called her out on it and she either removed the image or changed it just credited specktra in general. I stopped posting swatches after that (this was before there were watermarking apps on phones).
Nah, she didn't.  And from what I've seen, a good amount of MAC's products have been going downhill in a huge way lately, they have completely stopped caring.  Their eyeshadows (singles and palettes) have been especially bad, almost always dry and having very little pigment even over a good base.  Some of the blushes have been bad too, and the Office Hours collection never should have been put thru with the horrible quality all the products had.  I was pretty sad because I really liked some of the colors.  They should just give up and make all eyeshadows Extra Dimension from now on, those things are amazing.
I'm not a fan of the prolongwear glosses or blushes, but the shadows i do like. And the office collection shadows...:heart::heart: uninterrupted :heart::heart: Mauveless and always sunny are gorgeous too!

Oh don't get me wrong I have no prob with T. Yeah I don't always agree with her, but it's her opinion. I was more talking about the people commenting. All they seem to do is bash MAC. Even when her reviews are positive ones. And her coloring is way different than mine. So a lot of things on her look different on me. I don't always agree, but still love to see her swatches and see what she thinks about them though. But I'd never base my whole decision on it. I'd rather come here, I value all your opinions more. I so agree about the pigmentation thing. I've found that some of UD's shadows are super pigmented but then don't perform well on the lid, and are pain in the butts to blend. And strangely almost disappear when you try to blend them! Same with kat von d's. So less pigmented shades can be good! Just because something doesn't have amazing pigmentation doesn't mean it's not a good product. And it's sad that T jumps to the conclusion that just cause they aren't pigmented they are bad. But hey, I see it as the more people listen to her negative reviews, more makeup for us! Hehe
