You skipped Obscura? The whole combination of products looks great. Was Obscura one of the GP pigments?
This!It wasn't all that for me either. Just too frosty for me and the fish scale cheek look. I like Redhead (Naturally collection version) WAY better.
Silly me, missed the link. I skipped because of the negative reviews on the Metal X products. Me and cream e/s products usually don't get along, Paint pots and Fluidlines being a rare exception. My wrinkly eyelids just create creases and I end up looking like the cryptkeeper...
I have to agree so far. I had higher hopes for Stereo Rose. I really wanted it, due to the hype of past release(s) that I missed out on. I expected and hoped it had a little more pink in it, but it is more orangey. The colour itself is pretty though. Yesterday I wore it as a blush and in daylight I had to take my Kabuki to wipe some off, because, wow, it was like I poured some metalish stuff on my cheeks. Waaaay too frosty. It is probably better for me to use a blush and then layer a bit of SR on top so there is a balance in colour and not too much frost. Or perhaps it is even better to do it the other way around: SR and then some blush on top, to take some frostiness off.It wasn't all that for me either. Mehr, velvet teddy, hmm maybe pink plaid but it may be darkerIf I like Haute Altitude, what similar lipstick shades would you recommend from the permanent line?
I was going to name this one too but it comes off light on meIt reminds me Please Me
I forgot what color I am in MAC but I usually get a golden medium and can go as far as medium tan in bare minerals.
I really dig the sense of humour of some Specktrettes: BuickMackane and martiangurll to name but a few: you crack me up
From my permanent stash it reminds me most of pink plaid and please me.If I like Haute Altitude, what similar lipstick shades would you recommend from the permanent line?
I just got pink plaid for a holiday gift and haven't used it yet but I love HA and Mehr. From my permanent stash it reminds me most of pink plaid and please me.
Just my 2 cents, but honestly, the newer MSFs from the past two years (not the repromotes) are SO much better than the ones that came before, it doesn't pay to "catch up" and try acquiring all the old ones - just get the new ones every year plus any EDSFs or other new beauty powders, etc that might trickle out. The newest technology is so much better than stuff from even a couple years ago. Although it's true a great color is still a great color, a great color plus a great texture beats a great color with a heavy texture by a mile!!I have to agree so far. Porcelain Pink is the same deal so far. It is ok. I got it because I didn't get it at the time of the Cindy Sherman fall 2011 collection. My first impression is that it is pretty but it doesn't make my heart skip a beat.
In all fairness I have not taken te time to experiment with them, but I chucked them in my traincase for now. I will reach for them later on. After reading the Heavenly Creatures thread, I decided to grab Star Wonder today and that one comes closer to.
Compared to many Specktra peeps I have a pathetic amount of MSF's, but I am building on them.
I have (not including beauty powders and EDSF's)
- Soft and Gentle
- Lightscapade
- Pearl
- Blonde
- Redhead
- Light Year
- Star Wonder
- Center of the Universe
- Earthshine (yes, I caved in the end, and it proved to be usable too)
- Stereo Rose
- Porcelain Pink,
which I mostly gathered last year. I was happy with all those repromotes, because that way I got a chance to get those too, after missing them during the original releases. So far, I gues Lightscapade is the one I reach for the most. I recently rediscovered Soft and Gentle, which I find very pretty too (fell back in love again) and Star Wonder also felt really good this morning. Yup, just checked in the mirror: it still looks great
Must... reach ... for the others... more...
SR feels custom made for my colouring - that's a nice treat when even neutral colours typically run too cool for me.Just my 2 cents, but honestly, the newer MSFs from the past two years (not the repromotes) are SO much better than the ones that came before, it doesn't pay to "catch up" and try acquiring all the old ones - just get the new ones every year plus any EDSFs or other new beauty powders, etc that might trickle out. I'm in the anti-SR camp, btw, and always warn everyone that it's pretty outdated looking, compared to all the new options out there. At least I tried to be the anti-enabler on this, hehe - I promise to keep that up!
