MAC x Archie's Girls (Betty & Veronica) Collection Discussion (February 2013)

Yup, it first would take from my balance or use my credit card. I called MAC and they said it was something on PayPals end. I called them and they are closed. I didn't think their customer service department closed. I run a business online and use PayPal to receive my payments and they have gotten several hundreds off me from fees and now for the first time something like this happens? I have been stalking 3 days straight. If they answered the phone god they would get a mouthful!

So now I am just placing my orders from my CC but missed out on DLG and can't get as much because I was keeping my funds from my online business in PayPal (and not spend it if in my bank acct) so I could use it towards this collection. I see it still all sitting there in my balance. UGGGGG

It might have been the amount you used. It may have been a security measure, I'm just guessing. But MAC is suppose to be the ones in control of cancelling the order not paypal. The CSR told me they will suspend your order(for a short time) until it is resolved. I'm sorry. If it was me I would still call paypal and you'll prob be able to get DLG from nords&blooms. I wouldn't count on Macys or Dillards to much, they tend to receive the most limited amounts online for collections, from what I have noticed.

I didn't quite stick to my tiny list, but i still only ordered 3 things. This collection was just never doin' it for me all that much.

I got Boyfriend Stealer lipstick as planned. I like it. It was just different enough from all the other dark purples i have. I'm trying to avoid too much redundancy in my makeup collection this year...

I wasn't sure about Feelin' So Good lipglass before i saw it - i worried it would just be another dark plum, of which i have too many. But it will be nice to add to those lipsticks in the multi-deep purple swatch.

And in an unanticipated move i got Mall Madness lipglass, because i liked it after i tested it - loved the glitter! I have Strong Woman in the swatch (looking redder/pinker than it does in reality) because i think they will play nicely together.

I skipped Veronica's Blush Pearlmatte because i REALLY want BOTH Pearlmattes in the "Baking Beauties" collection in April. That collection is gonna kill my wallet.


I want both of Betty's pigments because i wear both lilac-pinks and aquas. But i decided to pass, at close to $25 a jar after sales tax (9% where i live), unless somebody nearby wants to go halfsies with me...

Aw, who knows. I may show up on the local MAC doorstep at 9:30 AM and give in to the call of silvery-pink Pearlmatte and both Pigments...

I am so pleased with MAC that they at least had enough stock for a little while & not the usual crazy 30 second sell outs. And, that their site handled the load nicely!

same here, i'm surprised the only thing i wasn't able to get was DLG lipstick

I end up spending hours and hours looking at various websites, then coming here to get the skinny on all the goodies! Well, over the last few days I have ordered both from the Year of the Snake Collection and the Archie's Girls Collection. Here is what I have ordered so far:

I also threw in Engrave Powerpoint Eye Pencil, Prep & Prime Highlighter in Radiant Rose, Sweetie lipstick, Heritage Rouge pigment, Shaping Powder in Lightsweep, Paint Pot in Frozen Violet and Mixing Medium Shine. I figured that might come in handy with this season's dewy look Any excuse will work, right?

I agree!! I did go to bed late for the last two days and nothing. I was bummed out this morning when I read some comments about people on pro (not all pro of course, but one here and there) were making huge purchases. I went to work sad and knowing that I would miss out but when I checked the site during my break at 3:00 and saw everything in stock...... ahhhhh :cloud nine:

Sounds like quite the haul! I love Lightsweep powder, it is the perfect natural highlight powder for me.

Thanks I didn't think of MAC possibly holding the cancelled order for a day until I talk to PayPal tomorrow. I am going to call MAC right now and see if they can hold it until I talk with PayPal tomorrow when they are open and get this whole thing resolved.

Update: I just called MAC and orders get placed on hold when CC's don't go through but with PayPal it gets cancelled completely.

The girl on the phone said these are being released in stores tomorrow and not the 7th now? What the heck? She said the dates were moved up. I called my local MAC and they said nope still the 7th. All this conflicting info.

I forgot too.. planned to add Nicki 2 to my Archie order but I was trying to go through checkout as fast as I could while I was hauling Archie so I completely forgot! lol

I think I may go check it out in stores tomorrow! Looks like a bit of a tricky color.
