I still haven't managed to get my head around those. They freak me out. I'm sure I'll eat my words once they're actually out, mind

Agreed. I think they're something different that mac wants to put out there, and they seem, to me, to be a waste of time and money. I don't believe they'll sell well, and if made perm, will eventually be discontinued. Next!
im scared wit the bottle being so small i'll phk around n use too much   but i'll give em a try! which one is best for my medium complexion?
Pink rebel if you're an NW, sun rush if you're an NC. Just a few drops will do ya!
I know that this is the wrong thread for this but I just recieved a text alert from MAC about SCENE SPOTTED??? What is this? Sorry I'm a noob:(

Just mac tryin to fool peeps into thinkin it's something new. But it's not.
Lustre Drops are pretty intense - a little goes a looong way. You only need a couple drops to brighten up and highlight a fairly large area or mixed in with another product. Pink Rebel is cool, Sun Rush is warm.
Yup yup! :nods:

I'm not a huge fan of the Lustre Drops texture. I'd rather use an EDSF with a damp brush to get a similar (but more flattering for me) look. I think they're best when mixed with moisturizer for a wild metallic finish on the arms/legs/decolletage for a night out.

How pigmented are the lip balms? Anyone have any swatches I could see of older ones?
If they are like the ones from Apres Chic, they probably aren't very pigmented. Many of them end up looking the same since they are so sheer. I would imagine that these would be milky.

From what I remember, they weren't very pigmented and all sort of looked the same when applied
True. I'd describe the sun tints from the Hey Sailor Collection the same way. This is just my personal opinion, it's really nice to look at but you only really need one.

These may be the only new brushes we've heard about lately. Haven't heard MUCH about them but, yeah...

The brushes in this collection already exist WITHOUT the blue ferrules.
Is it just me, or does the big one look like some dish-washing tool?

The peachy color is way nicer than expected. I thought it'd be more like Playing Koi, but it looks like a more orangey Cozy Up, which is awesome, since that's one of my favorite nudes. Also, I'm still excited for Devil's Food, since it's a frost. The only one that's not for me is the Barbie pink - 'looks cute, but that's a color that's never flattering on me.

I'm interested in the Pearlmattes, since I'm really thrilled with the new improved texture of Veronica's Blush. I really don't care if they look silly if the color is good, but I actually like the retro look on them.

I'll probably get all the balms, since I've been super happy with the ones from Apres Chic. The white pp and Chocolate Eclair are probably coming home with me too. I'm ready to spend!

I thought I was going to skip the lipsticks (except of course for a few LW back ups) but now I am curious about the peachy nude. Thanks for scouting that out for us. I know I will skip the Barbie pink and the frosty plum one. Pearlmattes are a skip for me, I am not feeling the retro pattern and I have both from Archie and both from Vera, how different can these be?

Lip balms are on the list, at least the lavender and the blue one. I am probably only going to focus on PP withOUT glitter and that are not repromotes. Should be a modest haul. Well, except for those LW back ups. I could restrain myself and just get one...but probably will get two or three!

Several in the Apres Chic collection were rather similar in color to begin with - although if they were lipsticks they'd have been more different - so they looked similar on. But the plummy one was noticeably different. I got the bronzy one with gold shimmer, Nice & Simple, and it did not look just like the warm pink or the cool pink - but the color differences were subtle.

I expect that, while subtle, with the Mineralize Lip Balms in this coll. the blue will not look like the pink. Not strongly blue, but not colorless. The blue lip glosses MAC has brought out in the past few years have been REALLY subtle. I'm hoping this will be a little less subtle.

Plus, i really like the way these Balms feel (and i am NOT normally a lip balm fan), so i'm in line for the blue and the lilac.

How they look on will also vary with the color and pigmentation of your lips. But for swatches of the five Apres Chic balms, Temptalia had 'em all:

I have 3 of the mlbs...the bronzy one, nude one and the plum one. I LOVE them...but they do look similar on. The plum one looks the best on me (nw20). My lips feel fantastic and I wore a tendertone also this week and while I like the scent of the tendertones better, these keep my lips moist more than tt.

I agree. I loved Best of Breed and I am thinking this will be less pigmented than that but any blue gloss goes on my must have list. Maybe we'll get our wish and get a really blue gloss or lipstick for layering--like a really pigmented Glaze or Lustre in a future collection. I like the Peacocky KLC and its the bluest MAC gloss I own but I haven't tried layering with it. I just scored Butch OCC lip tar, so going to try layering with that.
