MAC In Extra Dimension Collection 2013 (April 2013)

You probably aren't leaving prints because the product is already baked. The prints probably happened before and cooked right in. I loved L&O for years. At one point I watched it 4x/day. I swear I've seen all the old ones. I can always tell you who did it. :lmao: Beep boop beep beep boop domo arigato (Actually the Small Wonder theme song is in my head although Vicki wasn't shiny.)
I guess it's possible if someone touched it while it was still soft but not yet hardened. I don't think you can leave a print in a liquid. They would have to use a mold of some kind to create the design so the apparent fingerprint could be the impression left from some machinery part or something, like a stamp. It's just very strange that this seems to be happening to more than one person.

How could several of you have fingerprints on your product? That's gross. Take it to the police and have them identify the perp!

I got Smoky Mauve in the mail yesterday. It is so pretty, and I can't wait to play with it! I'm still waiting on Double Def, STF, and FC from Nordies. I really hope I don't have any fingerprints on my SF when they get here. That is just mad.

Once I get all my stuff I'll post swatches for the NW43s (I know there's like 5 of us)

Girl, I looked at BH yesterday and convinced myself that I didn't need it. Why did you have to go and mention Light Year MSF?!? Haha. I guess I'm going back to swatch the blush again today!
If this helps it's a pretty standard color. The formula is the unique part of it. So if you have peach blushes you could prob pass.

I'm such a weirdo. I bought Blazing Haute in my first haul, loved it. Bought a backup in-store and then returned it because, well, honestly idk what I was thinking. I wore it today and I think it's a holy grail peachy blush for me sooooo now I gotta get another backup if I can find one -.-

IN the criminal justice systems, the people who touch your MSFs are considered especially heinous.

Seriously, I was ready to head down to my MAC store to give this collection a second look, but now I'm a little skeeved by the fingerprint issue. Or intrigued. Or both!

I just wanted to update.

Macy's was really really kind about the experience. They said they are going to look into their warehouse and see what is going on, and thanked me for including the photographs. I don't want anyone to lose their job or anything, but if someone IS handling the products like that, that's unacceptable.

They ended up shipping me replacements of Def. Def and Double Def., but Shape the Future is OOS, so they refunded me the money for that one.
They apologized in the email and I feel it's sincere, not just some form letter.

If you got one with fingerprints in it, please let the store know how disappointed you are.

If it IS a manufacturing defect, MAC should have said something or had QC for that, they are a large enough company! If the items are supposed to look like that, a note included in the box, kind of like how they put a tag on jeans that have been hand dyed, would have gone a long ways to help everyone.

The CS lady told me to discard the fingerprinted ones that I received. I feel wasteful throwing them away, maybe I can just scape off the top layer a little bit and put alcohol on there? That's what I was going to do if I couldn't return them/as a last resort.

I'm also glad I ordered a replacement trio from Nordie's just in case, so I can still get a Shape the Future. I'll just return the Def. Def. and the Double Def. I ordered from Nordstroms.

Thank you all for being super nice about. Generally I don't like doing returns and I REALLY hate making a fuss about things, I always feel like I just should suck it up or something, especially when it's "just makeup". I didn't post on their FB page because I am sure I would have gotten flamed on there lol.
I do think that Macy's acted appropriately and I am really grateful that they were so nice about it.

k, some of the pictures posted totally look like fingerprints! I'm wondering if the products are partly assembled by hand, not just by machine? someone pushing the product pan into the plastic compact to assemble? If that's the case it doesn't look like they wear gloves!!!!!
This is my guess--the two colors are baked separately then assembled into a single pan maybe. Or it happens while its being taken out a mold?

Wow, just catching up on this thread and this fingerprint mystery is strange!! Glad to see some people are already having the issue resolved, and I hope everyone else will soon be able to say the same! What's going on, MAC? First the delay with the FS e/s, then the online delay with the EDSF, now fingerprints? Balls are being dropped everywhere! Too many collections at once, mayhaps?

Anyway, as intended, I got one and only one blush from this collection, At Dusk. Plan on wearing it out today to give it a test spin.

Hi everyone. I believe Rainbunny to be right. Since a mould is probably required to stamp the design onto the product pan, I think the mould mastercopy itself has the fingerprint, and not that someone touched your products... To verify this, maybe two people with the same skinfinish can see if their fingerprints are at the same spot?

Nordies told me to either try exchanging it at my local store or return it by mail. I am currently unable to go to my local store, so I guess I will mail it back instead. I just hope they don't run out of stock by the time they receive my return. The "Online Beauty Stylist" then commented, "I see how much you love the MAC products!" Yeah, lady... I love my MAC products without grubby fingerprints on them! (Not her fault though, so I didn't tell her that.)

Yesterday I wore Smoky Mauve with Too Faced Shadow Insurance as a base and I applied SM with a damp brush... The colour showed up very well and didn't budge all day (I tend to get slightly oily lids throughout the day). I was really happy with the result. Applying it dry, it was quite sheer, but with a base and a damp brush the colour was much more intense. HTH!

So my EDSFs came from macys today (3 days earlier than tracking showed), and my order was messed up too! My invoice was correct (2 Def Def and 1 STF) but they switched it, and sent me 1 Def Def and 2 STF! Needless to say, i contacted them, so hopefully they can send me the right items before they sell out. Oh, and all 3 of them had fingerprints! Here's the clearest one i could get a pic of. I don't think it's the molds as someone else mentioned, as they'd all she prints in the exact same spot if it were.
