Hi ladies this is off topic but have any WOC tried the Hourglass ambient powders and if so what color would you recommend.

I swatched the Blazing Haute tester while I was looking for SF replacements in Macy's today. BH barely showed up on my skin even after a couple of swipes, so I'm not going to keep mine after all. So glad I didn't buy At Dusk yet - I'd have to build up that color a lot just to get it to show up at all.

I'm so excited to try different looks with Zestful. Curious about using it with Dark Diversion as a base. I also recently purchase a green Laura Mercier Caviar pencil that may provide a beautiful base for this shade.

Just a reminder, the face ones aren't meant to be used wet. Just the eyes. Unsure about the blush as they're a new product.
thanks for the tip!
the assistant i spoke to made it seem like you could use any of them wet...glad i didn't rush out and do it!

I was still with mac when the first round came out, and they made it a point to tell us that the face ones weren't meant to be wet. They weren't sure exactly why, but that's what they were told.

There are some MES and MSFs out there from the newer batches that get kind of messed up if you stick a wet brush in them - maybe these fine milling techniques create a surface that's too porous to be subjected to additional wetting after being baked - could melt the surface in a bad way or even create a breeding ground for bacteria in ways you wouldn't normally get with a less water-based or porous product?

I've applied EDSFs with a brush that I spritzed after I picked up my product (no double dipping) or by spraying my skin after applying dry and one thing is, you get a crazy intense metallic finish that way - you can get it almost mirror-like. I'd say most people wouldn't want something like that..it'd probably photograph kind of haphazardly too, at least for standard snapshots.

After much debate and research, I finally grabbed one of the last Blazing Hautes left at my local store (actually I had to hunt it down). NO regrets. It shows up very nicely on my NW15 skin. A nice peach glow. Skipped the MSFs though. They looked crazy shimmery. Thanks ladies for all your swatches!

I posted this pic in the Fashion Sets thread as well, but since I´m wearing a couple ED items I thought I could post it here again. I´m wearing Zestful on the lid, Kid in the crease as a blending colour, Sketch in the outer corners and Vanilla as a highlight. On my cheeks I´m wearing Coffee Walnut to contour, Blazing Haute as a blush and the light part of Definitely Defined as a highlight.

MAC Newbee! I'm NC44 and I purchased and love 'Radiant Light'. That said, you might want to swatch the powders in person. I took a wild guess and lucked out. I wouldn't want to mislead you because as I understand it, more than one of these powders may work well for an individual. In fact, I will probably purchase another at some point.

I really like that highlight...looks like I am going to skip this collection though since I want items from Baking Beauties.

Definitely Defined is my favorite EDSF and that includes last years EDSFs as well. Last year I was wishing they had made a EDSF that was lighter than WOG and Superb and with Def Def they did that!

I have seen someone on youtube who wears MUFE HD 173 buy the lavender hourglass ambient powder and looks pretty on her. It is out of stock online though.
