I'd rather they eliminate this virtual waiting room and make more product!  I know it's hard to anticipate demand, but it's obvious LE lippies always sell out, so why would it hurt to have more stock of them on the front end?

I agree. They've become masters and driving up the hype and demand for their products. It's makeup crack and I've become a MAC junkie!

I loved that the neon light was off until it was time to purchase, then the light went on, and now that it's sold out the light is back off and only the heart is flickering. Random. I look for positives.

I actually think they should keep the virtual waiting room, after fixing some of the bugs of course. Here's my take on it. After seeing numerous collections where people complain about having to stalk and/or miss out on LE items because they sold out within hours, this method seems to be giving more people a chance to get what they want. This collection would've definitely sold out within the first hour of launch or faster. There would be a ton more people angry and upset about not getting anything at all. At least this way, more people have a chance to actually get the item. This is the biggest complaint that I often see and MAC has taken steps to address that. I poke fun at MAC sometimes, but it seems like they can't win no matter what they try. This is their first time using this method, so there are bound to be some bugs and glitches. Yeah, the long wait times are annoying, but I'm pretty sure more people got the lipstick than who would have gotten it otherwise in a regular launch.

It certainly seems that way. I just feel bad for anyone tied up at a job that didn't afford them the opportunity to stop and place an order and/or couldn't wait after placing it. I agree they had to start somewhere and I'm sure the glitches will be addressed.

I think it's about the hype and snagging the 'ungettable, get.' If you don't have the cool item you're not one of the cool people. If you don't make it to a concert no one is the wiser. But pull that shiny LE compact or lipstick from your purse and someone recognizes it-----and you're one of the cool people.

Seventeen and Cosmo are talking all about it too. Maybe I live under a rock but when I read Seventeen they weren't talking about MAC all the time. People really are going crazy with this lippie it looks like.

Wow I finally made it through this thread. I am so shocked to hear how long some of you had to wait in the "waiting room". My first order took 10 min to process and I went back and purchased 3 more as Mother's Day gifts and a gift for my daughter and those took just a few seconds. I got confirmation on all orders. I am not worried about my order being canceled because this was the same process for the Pink Friday release and I had no problem getting my purchase. So if you ordered more than one don't worry. I question if this waiting room process is fair. It is true that iphone transactions where the fastest so that let's me know that the waiting room process is questionable, but I understand the need for it also.

That's really cool that you got some for your mom and daughter. I'm thinking of buying a MAC lipstick for my sister's graduation next spring, perhaps a Viva Glam or a Ruby Woo.

Not to sound terribly ignorant since I am a sahm but I know my husband's work does not allow him to use the computer for personal stuff and his breaks are timed... failing to keep schedule is cause for being let go so how does the waiting room affect the ability to order? I mean if he were to order something he couldn't do it using their computer and he can't hop on his phone except for set times so, considering that most things sell out within an hour and you have no clue when it is going to be released how do you stalk and refresh and you know order in time. Today you had a check at X time and it took 3 hours to sell out. Seems like a greater window for your break to fall into but then, like I said, I don't know how this works for you working gals.

I guess I should say his work does not allow use of personal phones on clock as well which is why his ringer is on silent all day~~ he has to clock off to check texts and stuff which affects his keeping to schedule percentages. I know tons of peeps who don't do anything online or use phone for personal things at work regardless of type of job cus of work rules or personal I'm being paid so I'm doing what I'm supposed to {eek not trying to be rude just saying that is how most peeps I have talked to respond to this Q... even to point of socializing in a shop with a friend who comes in}

DH can use the internet for whatever except porn of course lol but wherever I worked the internet was turned off except to use it to access the companies webpage. Some people are just lucky!
