Just to let everyone know. Belk has Embrace Me lipstick. I just ordered one. And they still have some stock. Not sure how many but, for all the peeps that missed out on it, here's your chance! It's not under Fashion Sets anymore. But, you'll find it mixed in with the permanent lipstick section. Go get it!

Thank you for this! I had skipper's remorse for this lippie and now I can finally get my hands on it. I just placed my order! Hopefully it'll ship. EDIT: it shipped!

That is the perfect description of it: Gateway purple.... It moved me to more hard core stuff like cyber and rebel... But once a week I need a hit and out I go w my purple lips sashaying down the street caring not about nothing. -Emma

I agree. I just got a b/u of heroine. UTA was my first purple lippie and I wear a purple lipple once a week.

Cyber was one of the first MAC lipsticks i ever got, some time back in the early to mid-90s, along with Lust and Grid, which are REALLY violet, one pale, one dark, and which many of us on Team Purple fervently wish MAC would make again.

Back in the late 60s or early 70s i got some makeup from the legendary Biba company (not at all what has that name today). One was Electric Grandma, which was adrk indigo with silver sparkles. Even Revlon made a frosted purple which i had, although i can't remember the name, something Grape. It came out along with Conga Lime, which i still have, a frosted yellow green. This was more than 20 years before Urban Decay came out with Acid Rain lipstick, which i got - i'm so sorry their lipsticks are now so tame. I still have both Cyber and Acid Rain, although i think Cyber may have just gone into the great beyond of rancidity. I gotta replace it! Wish i could replace my Acid Rain. it really looks light frosted lime-olive, unlike MAC's lipglasses, Spring Bean and Jealous, both of which i have, but are quite sheer.

I also wore pale periwinkle, pale mint, and dark frosted navy blue nail polishes in the mid-70s. Nice to see those colors back again, too, and now widely accepted.

I love whenever you talk about makeup from back in the day. It's so neat learning from you some of the makeup trends from the past few decades. Thank you for always sharing. :D I LOVE it!

@lilinah yeah these stories are awesome! My mom used to be very into makeup back in the 70's too and in the 80's she would let me put on makeupas a kid.. I grew obsessed with red lips cause she would always wear it.. -Emma

If you missed Heroine lipstick, Violetta is very very very close to the same color. The primary difference is in finish. The latest Heroine is Matte, whereas Violetta is Amplified Creme and seems to have a little iridescence. Matte Lip Mix is on the MAC website under PRO Products - a little over Violetta and you'll almost have Heroine. It won't be exactly the same, but really close. And no one will have to pay $60 for a tube of Heroine on Evilbay...
