Tom Ford Beauty Discussion

Hi, I'm a newbie (although I've stalked this site for a while)! I just wanted to share information about the TF holiday sets since I see a lot of people wondering. I spoke to a very informed TF person (and not a SAs, they are typically are the last ones to know anything unfortunately) about the new holiday stuff. Although there will not be a full collection, i.e. Summer or Fall, I've been told that there will be:

1. New quad (Ice Queen, not new news to you guys)
2. Additional releases that are part of the Jasmine Rouge collection:
a. 2 new lipsticks: Vampire Kiss and Rouge Fatale
b. 2 new nail polishes: Trophy Wife and Shameless (one is a glitter, but I can't remember which one)
3. Holiday Gift Sets:
a. Lipstick set (on NM now)
b. Top 5 (Best Sellers) Fragrance gift set in lieu of the brush set (available in the UK) in the States
4.Lastly, 3 new Oud fragrances. I was able to smell one and it is the signature TF smokey/sexy scent that he is known for.

I don't have the exact dates for releases, but was told everything should be out before Dec. Hopefully this is helpful information

Ravish blush came today as promised in a gigantic box (blush was in a small NM silver box accessorized with a silver bow ) with some sample products and a tote bag. Can't wait to get my birthday glam look in effect for Monday! Definitely want more Tom Ford blushes but Ravish will have to suffice for now. I messaged her a thank you and a gentle reminder about information for the holiday collection.

Unfortunately that is our trait! We can't help ourselves . I could have sworn i had told her Savage but I don't mind TBH as those were the two I planned on getting initially. I can wear Ravish daily to work as it is much more subtle. Being a Libra can be very expensive, lol. BTW when is your birthday, Purple Popcorn?

The two lipsticks are reds. Think the 4 l/s that were released last holiday with Jasmin Rouge, same concept this year. Not sure if they will be perm (forgot to ask). Sometime colors come out, they will test out how they sells and bring it back later as a perm item. Either way, they won't be as dark as Black Orchid. BO is replaced by BP. I was told that the BO is being dc'd because when you put that color on fair skin tones it tends to turn almost black. While it is a good color, it doesn't translate universally. BP is in the same family (almost the same) but it can be translated across skin tones. So now everyone can get the TF "vampy" lip!!! But as you can tell from swatches the variation between the two is very settle.

Oh really? So can they discontinue all the shades that doesnt translate well on darker skin tones?? Probably not so i dont see them discontinuing bo because of this reason fair. Kinda pissed about that actually. So many lipsticks out there that work on light skinned and not dark skinned ladies sooo whats the issue?

I would agree, because lot of the paler colors in his line I don't think look good on me (I'm Toffee/Parline in TF Foundations) but I guess that it was a business decision. I'm not saying it is fair, just sharing what I was told. When I tried both on my lips at the same time you can barely tell the difference, so I didn' t buy BP. I'm waiting for BO to get to one of my local CCOs so I can stock up because I agree, it is a great color and shouldn't have been d/c.

Ironically, I think a lot of this depends on skin undertones, not just whether you're fair vs. dark. I gripe all the time about the lack of deep, intense colours, because despite my fair skin, they work far better on me than the shades pale girls are "supposed" to wear. BO always looked fine on me and didn't seem black-ish. If you want a nice substitute, Armani 609 is very close.

I gripe all the time about the lack of deep, intense colours, because despite my fair skin, they work far better on me than the shades pale girls are "supposed" to wear. BO always looked fine on me and didn't seem black-ish. If you want a nice substitute, Armani 609 is very close.

Exactly. There are so many nude/pale shades and none of them look half as good on me as something deep and intense. It's also odd, because whenever MAC does a black or gray shade, it gets popular or sells out. There's definitely a market for these shades, especially for a luxury brand.

Maybe counters do carry it here tor it is only perm in the US/in Canada.

i got one and i dont think ill want to stock up. it is pretty but im more into mattes now that i feel like some other dark color will come along and steal my heart. lol
also i dont understand how they came up with conclusion because i know some pale ladies who love really dark lips so Tom Ford is def tripping

yea also the color of your lips. i know people my skin tone and some of the nudes look gorgeous on them but on me it looks a disaster, either lighter or just washes me out completely because I have dark lips as opposed to when they have lighter lip colors.

i dont even know if im getting glammed up for my bday because idk if im even doing anything. My bf's gift to me is a trip to the bahamas and im leaving the 20th but on the actual day of my bday idk whats going on lol
