For those interested in the pigments sets but not sure what to do with the glitters, try adding them to your manicure. I have a gold mac glitter and when my polish was wet I put the glitter on my cuticle with a brush and blew it down the nail. Sorta made on ombré glitter nail,

Thanks, Strong Woman! The funny thing is, I get a little picky when it comes to having to alter a lipstick with liner and gloss just to make it work. I'd rather just figure out the right blush and eye makeup to balance out the color on its own and if it's a color that is just wrong wrong wrong without liner/gloss, I usually skip it. What I love the most is when they take the technology to the next level and the finish gets smoother and smoother and more and more long lasting/original/offbeat/unusual/modern!! That's what made me get all crazy back into makeup after years of being completely out of the loop.
I get what you mean. You and Pixie give me ideas on how to balance out eyes and cheeks with lips so that it works color-wise. Thanks for the great reviews and color combination suggestions!
Well shit. I just discovered that my car's brakes need replacing, as well as a few other things. I might not be able to get anything at all. Only working 8 hours this week doesn't help either. I hate being an adult sometimes.
Aww... I'm with you. It sucks. MAC will come out with collections every two weeks and we will get more chances soon, ladyarwen.

The brow/lash comb is crap! You can easily skip it with no worries. The plastic comb doesn't separate lashes worth a damn, and that's EL's fault. Buy the SK one from Target.
Glad to hear this! I have the SK one but wanted to get the mac or Laura one
There is a lot to say about this collection!!! I'm still running around at home trying to do a bunch of things at once but first let me talk about something simple: Private Party lipstick (and gloss) and Exclusive Event Private Party is really nice, especially if you want a color that's a little different but not mega-in-your-face. I was trying it on along with this gal who had to be about NC40. On me, it looks pretty much exactly like the promo pic, especially with the gloss on top - perhaps a teeny touch deeper and redder/wine-ier, but barely. On the other woman, it looked totally different - it looked like a subtle smokey mid-tone purple, like a greyed out Riri Boy..the sort of purple for women who want purple but don't want something that blares HERE'S THE PURPLE LIP MONSTER. I WISH it looked as gorgeous on me as it did on her, but the look it had on me, while more "normal", was still very unique - I honestly don't have anything remotely similar. It wasn't brown, it wasn't wine, it wasn't purple, it wasn't plum, it wasn't red….but it was neat! The gloss on its own is great too - it's not like Narcissus or Color Saturation or Richly Revered or Looks Like Sin, but I'd say on me closest to Looks Like Sin, but with a touch more plum - maybe like a more wine/plum Rosy Romance? I'd like to call the combo of lipstick and gloss "mahogany plum", even though that's not very descriptive. Great color and great combo and great worn individually or together! Exclusive Event plus a little Stone lip pencil around the edges is a dead on dupe for Riri Nude on me. Nude has some extremely subtle pink undertones to it that EE doesn't have, and is a teeeeeeny bit darker than EE minus Stone, but you can basically stop worrying about a Nude BU and get EE and you will be fine. I love it and with Lavish Living blush and a little black eye liner, it's all I need to make this shade not only work but seriously WURK as a total look, with my coloring. It's what I wound up wearing all day and I felt very very stylish and not poo-mouthed in the slightest! :haha:   (I had EE + Stone on my upper lip and Nude without liner on my lower lip and couldn't tell the difference in any lighting, including bright sun outdoors)
This is how I used to feel when I first started wearing purple lipstick :haha: sometimes when A LOT of people are staring I double check my make up and am like I look fab lol Have I missed the blush swatches? Can someone link them? Everything looks so highlighter-ish but maybe I over looked them

Annnnd my ears just perked up. Looks like Looks Like Sin, you say? I'm intrigued... Even though it's not an exact dupe, something close to it is better than nothing, which is what I'm close to having of my last tube of Looks Like Sin!

Just curious (sorry if this was said earlier in the thread) - I know that this collection is supposed to launch online Monday, the 14th, but is there a specific time? Like, is there a point in me staying up later or waking up early?

Now that I've checked everything out, I just want to say that Beautyzine's swatches, especially for the lipsticks and the fluidlines, are very very accurate. Thank you for the attention to detail!!!

This one shows the colors quite well too, especially the red lipstick Prepare For Pleasure and the pale pink nude Flair For Finery.

I wasn't prepared for Prepare For Pleasure. The gloss is really nice for a red gloss, especially since it's rare we get a true red csg, but it's still a very basic straightforward red. Nice an opaque for a csg too! I'm going to skip it, though, since I really don't wear the red glosses I already have. If I am going red, I want RED and that means lipstick 9 times out of 10. Which brings us to PFP lipstick. Now that is a gorgeous red. It's got the exact same moist brilliant color and finish like you get with Just A Bite, but while JAB is a bit brown and definitely a sporty sort of red, PFP is BRIGHT and classic. At least it's incredibly bright on my skin tone - and my coloring is such that a lot of reds do not look as bright on me as they do on darker skin tones. It's not a light or dark red, just super intense. It doesn't look magenta red like the description on me at all, most of just a true classic red - and that's the type of red I can't always pull off. I tried it on and instantly had to get a tube. I don't really want to BU any more reds, but I am thinking maybe I should BU this one after all, because like I was saying, I usually don't look good in classic style reds - I usually need something overtly blue or orange or darker or lighter than the norm. If PP is any indication, PFP is going to be another one that is going to look really different on different people, so maybe on someone else it will look bluer or more magenta.

Flair For Finery was not for me at all. It's very light and much pinker than Feed the Senses. FtS looks great on me, but this one was no bueno. I suppose if FtS looked all dead and corpse-like on you, FFF might be tons better, but it will always be really light. It's not the sort of lustre finish that blends well with my pigmented lips, but it does have good coverage for a lustre. It was the only lippie that was seriously a loser for me, but it ought to be a winner for pale NWs.

I will have to digress and say I don't think this collection is really well balanced for NWs - almost all the products lean a bit warm - not orange warm, but definitely yellow warm or brownish warm. If you are a pale NW, it's very possible that almost every item in this collection is going to be a little iffy. So many of the shadows have warm golden bits and though some of the MSFs and MBs are very sheer and even pale, they are going to show up on an NW15 in ways I know they weren't showing up on me, between NC15 and NC20. I am beginning to think my true NC15 days might be over, due to age or hormones or the health stuff, I dunno - in any case, this collection is AMAZING if you are the sallow type who normally can't wear gold eyeshadows, pink eyeshadows, taupe eyeshadows, etc. I'll talk more about this later when I get to Center of Attention, which is seriously quite unique, but perhaps not perfect except for certain specific skin types.

Just to finish up the lipsticks here, someone was asking if You've Got It will make them look like a 60's go go dancer. When I tried it on its own, I would have had to say yes. It's not the moist new-fangled frost like Warm Companion or By Design. It looked very flat and dry and more whitish creamish frosty than golden. I was going to skip it. Then my MA decided to try it on top of PFP and PP and let me just say Oh Lord! Then, you could see the glorious gold coming out really well and it lightened the deeper colors in this really attractive way, rather than in some bolt-on frankenstein style. I decided to get it, but I don't see myself wearing it alone, but either as a topper for other lipsticks or as a base for glosses - it should look really beautiful that way.

Am I the only one who keeps wanting to call this collection Knight Divine, like the e/s? When I type it I keep having to correct myself; reverse the words and it's Night. No K.

Also, EE and and PFP for me. That's about it. Saving my money for Sephora VIB sale.

I have a question regarding Prepare for Pleasure Liba; since you compared it to JAB I would like to know if it takes several swipes to get it to look as opaque as in the previous picture. Thank you
