What really pi$$es me off about this whole "waiting for corporate" BS is the email that clearly states "Pro Discount Available." Maybe corporate should have put a halt on the auto-generated email, so they would at least have a leg to stand on. At this point, we have communication from MAC stating it is available and the reps don't even have confirmation from corporate? Can we all say A$$ BACKWARDS?!?!

Yes, I was told a credit would be issued as well, but only AFTER they received corporate approval that these items were Pro Discount eligible. It also took some serious "workarounds" because I placed two orders. My second order I placed without logging in, so that I would at least get free shipping. The rep had the NERVE to tell me she couldn't credit that one. After a few choice words, and a few conversations she had to have "with her supervisor" I am assuming they figured it out, but I won't know for sure until I actually get a credit.

Yes this whole thing pisses me off as well. I better get it a discount as well when they get there ish together or whatever they're doing who knows. I'm just glad that this isn't a collection that I want to purchase a lot of stuff from or else I really would've been furious. They should at least have the decency to give pros free shipping with this ish.

I think the big problem is MAC is unwilling to enlarge production, in order to avoid a lot of leftover products at the end of the season (which definitely used to happen back in the day) but they are also trying to figure out ways to counteract the Evil Bayers too. So far, none of their ideas are working very well, because there are so many ways to get around the roadblocks. The only way to solve this somewhat is to increase production, which there are corporate reasons not to.

Probably what's happened is MAC's market research has indicated people with PRO discounts were the main abusers of the system, the way things had been set up and since last year, MAC has been trying step by step to deter these people. Remember how they were getting tougher on shutting down people's pro accounts if it could be proved they were reselling? Production quantities are determined far in advance, so it makes sense they were going to try stronger and stronger ways to shut out the abusers, and if that doesn't solve anything, the final result is to increase production going forward. I think that's already starting to happen a bit - look at how Runway Hit was restocked. It makes sense the restocks are happening more for the stores than online, since the stores have lots of operation expenses, so they need to be making sales.

Is there a way to get PRO account info on file at an individual store so that people could call in an order and get the discount like that? Not having to rely on a faceless website would be an improvement. I also think MAC better get some better website management, to cut down on the glitches, but in all likelihood, they've got people working on it that were hired on before online MAC shopping got so nuts and they're not equipped to handle all the changes. To fire them and get all new, better people is a tricky thing that can't always legally be done, depending on contracts etc. All these corporate decisions, from workforce to production, take a long time to change, since we're talking huge corporations with intricate structures.

We'll see a restock online, eventually, and by then there will be many more pictures and swatches online and personal reviews too, so it'll be easier to make a decision about what to buy. Nothing else is even sold out other than PP lipstick, so that's better than what we usually see anyways. I think it'll be harder to not get what you want and the discount you want than to get everything with this collection. We'll have to see what craziness happens for Punk Couture, though….

Looks like an alphabet code of some sort was formed while I was away this weekend. Is it code for anything I need to be aware of? Or is ignorance bliss?

And I would just like to add that I am so glad I decided I didn't need anything from this collection. I would be too through if I was dealing with all the ridiculousness of threatening to cancel early orders and mixed messages regarding the Pro discount. Not cute, MAC

I heard back from MAC Pro that they are not giving the discount and I told them they should be sending out emails to correct the mistake of saying it was discounted.

Pros don't have time for this kind of rot, and to cut them all off b/c they were allowing some people to abuse the system is silly and cutting off their foundational people. I hope they figure it out before it is too late. I didn't bother to look at this stuff- w/o discount forget it. Not interested.

Maybe, Liba. They have no way of knowing who the evil bayers are now, though. They could mark discounted pro priced products to find out. They haven't though. Honestly, it feels more like they are overwhelmed. They must be under some serious deadlines with these frequent releases and the structure isn't holding up under the strain. I don't really know. It's getting sad at this point though that so many 2013 releases are just terribly, terribly messed up. I don't care if Riri Holiday comes with actual diamonds. Too much drama.

I too was confused about the alphabet code when I got on here.

I feel bad for the PRO members that are not getting the discount on this collection and for people that are getting cancelled orders. Nordstrom should launch the collection online Thursday as well as the store release. I really want to see the collection in person.

EDIT://
Nvm. Just saw the collection up on Nordies.

I just think in general there are way too many "releases" but since women (and men) are spending less on things like makeup as the economy contracts, MAC needs to find a way to get people to spend money on cosmetics. The way they do that is to keep coming out with these "must have!!" LE collections and limit production so folks know if they want something they had better impulse buy ASSOONASTHECOLLECTIONISRELEASED otherwise they'll miss out. But as far as I'm concerned, the only thing this does for me is make me feel like MAC doesn't know how to treat their customers and with so many other choices these days, many things are dupable or passable altogether.

I wanted to get Private Party l/g but the lack of swatches has made me wary. I may try it in the store along with the MBs and MSFs because I also skipped those due to uncertainty. I really hope I like You've Got It l/g and Private Party l/s.

Okay, I guess I missed this alphabet code thing too- do I need to know about this? If not, that is fine. If anyone can PM me w/ details if it can't be discussed on the board, that is fine.
