I'm sorry so many ladies have had such terrible delivery experiences. I've been really fortunate, but I know from working in a shipping department that it is a pain is the ass when things don't get to where they need to go or when someone wasn't careful enough to check product before it's to be sent out.
You look gorgeous and so well put together! Don't you love finding steals like that at Target?!! :)

I would try this myself but I dont have the l/l.
I'd have to agree it's a bit challenging to put on straight from the tube. I wouldn't want to cover my entire lip with any lip pencil first either, because that'd be really hard to get a perfectly even layer of.

What works best for me is to pat a layer of TTT on from the tube, dabbing instead of swiping, then use my finger to warm it and pat it more into the skin - this gets it nice and even and gets the basic shape going. Then I do a second layer from the tube a little more heavily in a bit more of a swipe - but this color you really do have to apply in an even layer and people tend to put a little extra in the center of the lip - avoid doing that. After this, I either go back and define the edges with a brush - I use a flat edged sable hair water color brush instead of a makeup brush - gives the sharpest thinest line because fine art brushes of that level are made with extreme precision and sable is the most resilient for tight details. OR take your liner and now put it on along the edges, right on top of the lipstick! That is a good trick. Blend everything in a bit around the edges with a brush but not on the lip as a whole, because again, it makes it patchy. I think lip primer would be a help too, but I'm not sure if it would lessen the heavy matte finish - I don't own any lip primers personally.

I've actually been wearing TTT all day today, as a matter of fact; with Lavish Living on the cheeks and Stormy Pink p/p on the eyes - very good, simple combo!

Thanks liba! I now have more knowledge about l/ls. Why is applying lipstick so complicated? Lol. You cant just slap it on and be happy with the results. I guess this makeup thing is going to take a lot of patience and practice, but it is fun! Thanks for the tips as well. Now to go find a sable hair paint brush....

I would try this myself but I dont have the l/l.
I have the liner and I don't fill in the whole lip. I use PP lip, Feed the Senses or a similar light lippie, then TTT dabbed and then I line the edges. This is my favorite way to wear it. I have also worn it with PP lip only then filled the edges. I have darkened the edges with Nightmoth too after I got it. It is way darker on me than TTT liner. I LOVE TTT. No application issues for me.

Thanks for info! But just so I get the full benefit of what you're saying, what is PP lip? Is that still available?

Oh another thing I do when I put TTT or the other retro mattes on: I make sure to get a good coat on the underside of my upper lip, so that it doesn't make the lower lip patchy when they press together. That works really well to keep it looking even over time.

I love the lip Prep and Prime. It changed how well I wear so many lipsticks. =)
I haven't tried it yet. Would you say it changes the texture of the lipstick any? Like make the retro mattes look less flat and matte? Or does it just smooth out the 'ole kisser and get out of the way?

I am not MaitaiFluff, but my experience is that when I use a thicker coat of p&pl and apply the l/s fairly quickly after that, you get a similar result as when you wear a light coat of lipbalm. If you use a normal coat (1 swipe per lip) and wait for it to become tacky then it won't affect the formula and keep the l/s on longer.

My experience is that it smooths out and covers imperfections. It does extend wear time and does not change the look of any of my lippies.
It's just dark lipsticks need a nice clean edge to look their best and then you add in the extreme matte texture of retro matte and TTT is fussy. Once I get it on, though, it wears like iron and doesn't get patchy, even after some coffee or little snacks. Some other dark lips are less work, like the ones from Nudes & Metallics - they still need a touch up here and there, though. You know what vampy lip is easy to apply and wears really well? Love Peck Kissable Lip Colour. I wish they'd bring that formula back so bad, with some nice new colors! I love p+p lip! I use it for retro mattes and the bold, bright or red shades that tend to bleed or feather. I use jack black to hydrate, let it set while I do the rest of my face. Then, apply p+p and wait for it to feel tacky on the lips. Then apply lip liner to the edges and fill in the lips. P+p creates an awesome foundation for liners so when i apply the lipstick, it sets really well. Most of the time throughout the day, all i need with most shades and even a retro matte is a slight dab for a touch up and a little more jack black to hydrate my lips again.
