I finally caught up with this thread lol. It's been really fun reading everyone's shopping lists and ideas!! I didn't know what to buy this year so this thread really helped! :) After adding and deleting for the millionth time, I think i'll settle with:

cover fx natural finish oil free foundation m20
cover fx eye primer
tarte lip surgence set
buxom lipgloss set

I can't make up my mind on either getting Nars reflecting loose powder or Hour glass ambient powder in diffused. I've heard so much about these two products but I can't tell the difference when I swatched it in store lol.
Get the hourglass one. NARS Light Reflecting Loose Setting Powder's main ingredient is silica so it would give you white cast in flash photograhy.

Desperately needing the Sephora F&F code. It ends today :( feeling pretty sad. I wanted to make a large purchase and that 20% would help. Looks like I have to wait for VIB.

I picked up something I had not planned on at F&F this year: a PT job! I start next week and I am pretty excited. This is in addition to my "real" job (in the medical field) so I foresee some sleepless days ahead but I am still excited. Otherwise I got the Ambient compact and Ambient Powder in Etheral light, Hourglass Liquid Lipstick in Iconic, the DL Wicked n/p set, Michael Jacobs Showstopper set, Clinique Take off the Day Balm, Purity Made Simple and the Anastasia Lavish palette. Love it all. The Lavis Palette was such an awesome deal and such a great palette. And the MJ set has all full size products (except the fragrance) in it.
Congrats! Let me know how you like the Take Off the Day balm.

My Konjac sponge did not dry overnight despite it being incredibly dry in my house.

I also rubbed it on my lips to try to exfoliate and I didn't see a difference.

Is this thing not supposed to dry? That's weird to me that a sponge doesn't dry out overnight..:

I think it just takes longer to dry than one would expect. 24 hours is too long to me, but I'm going to experiment again to see if maybe my guy didn't accidentally get it wet or something. I moved it to my bedroom to dry after I used it this morning. I can't imagine keeping one of these around in the summer. It'd be swampy. I did see a black spot on it this morning and am concerned b/c my client said her black spot grew into mildew/mold.

I ordered a bunch of the Hourglass Powders, but I can't say enough good things about NARS Light Reflecting Loose powder. It softens/blurs the look of skin and it just melts in. No white cast on me with this powder, even in photography.

Most people reported they didn't have a white cast in the NARS powder. I did (in a photo) and someone else did, but everyone else said nope. I'm sure some of it had to do with my brown skin and how much powder I put on. I use it every day and haven't noticed a white cast in any photos since. Full disclosure: I don't take a lot of photos.

Ah I see, seems you are right. I went and watched http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JWaC1LWA0pc about silica/spf lol Guess the white cast is only when powder is sitting on top of dry skin or when using the old style non-digital cameras, good to know =)

Anyone who owns the Hourglass Ambient Light pallete have you bought the brush?  I was just looking at it online....
nope not me. But the pallette is amazing. The brush does look big and I do not know how it would fit using the smaller shades, since these are not full size.

I caved and ordered the brush. It'll probably come next week - I'll post some thoughts on it when it arrives and I've been able to try it out.

So mad right now the magenta nars holiday blush, I've been waiting so patient online for was in stock and I didn't know and ordered the cheek palette blush and exhibit A :getyou: . I'm either going to exchange the cheek palette or wait for the vib sale.
Nice haul. I need to use exhibit a more often.

I toyed with using the 10% off code I have from Sephora's spin-the-wheel promotion, but that barely makes a dent on any of the items in my cart. I'll just wait a week.

Ohhh! I saw Christine at Temptalia take a pic with the Nars setting powder and she looked really really nice with it. I had the same problem with Makeup Forever's setting powder. It was not cute looking at the pics lol. Maybe a big fluffy blush will help with the application and avoid the white cast?

I am also debating the hourglass palette vs. NARS light reflecting powder? Are the hourglass individual powders better than the palette? Which is better, loose or pressed NARS powder? I much rather prefer pressed. I will be taking graduation photos soon and I would like to do my own makeup and look good! Also on the lookout for a good foundation for photos. I have dryish skin around cheeks, chin and forehead with a somewhat normal-oily nose area. I tried a MUFE HD sample once and did not like the way it sat on my skin and seemed to accentuate the dryness. I am currently using Chanel Aqualumiere and it's more than enough coverage for me. Any thoughts? I am thinking Illamasqua Rich Liquid Foundation. Any other suggestions? I AM SO EXCITEDDD!!!
