And prices go up.smh. some people are so oblivious or they really don't care . this is how so many products get wasted and get sent to the makeup graveyard quickly.

Barneys.com has it... free shipping. I just bought it full price lol i hope it works for darker skinned ladies!I definetly should have bought the Hourglass Ambience palette. I got an email this am that it has been discontinued! So now if I can find a store that has it I may be buying it at full price
Is it more than likely they will simply come out with a different palette? If so, talk me down now before it is too late
Oh, a result of this sale the amount I need for Rouge has kept going down (They seemed to keep updating it even after I finished shopping) and I am now Rouge!
I almost always order my stuff from Sephora online in stead of getting it in store because I figure it's coming directly from the warehouse or whatever and it's therefore less likely it's been tampered with. Guess that's not always the case. I should have realized that when I ordered the original Naked palette and one of the shadows had a little smudge from a brush (or a finger?). I just wiped it and told myself it must have been a manufacturing issue, but maybe that wasn't the case!omgg... that's disgusting, such a disappointment too. I'd have thought Sephora would have better controls.

I completely agree.. when I buy something new I want it brand spanking new. Sometimes I will do things like shop in-store at Zara or wherever and then place an order for whatever I wanted online just so it comes new LOL.I almost always order my stuff from Sephora online in stead of getting it in store because I figure it's coming directly from the warehouse or whatever and it's therefore less likely it's been tampered with. On the rare occasion that I DO choose to buy something in store, I also open it to check it before purchasing. The last time I did this, though, I had a Sephora employee come running over to me and tell me I wasn't allowed to do that. I felt both embarrassed and a little offended. I get that she was probably just afraid I was going to test it or something, but I felt there were better ways to approach me about it than taking the product out of my hands. I calmly explained that as I was walking up to the register, I opened the one I had chosen and noticed it wasn't in perfect condition (looked like it had been messed with), so I wanted to find a better one. She started opening them for me, then tried to pass one off as fine when there was clearly a bit of color on the side of the pencil. Granted, that didn't necessarily mean it had been used, but it definitely meant it had been opened by someone else and carelessly closed. When I pay for something brand new, I want it exactly that: brand new. I'm that way with everything, but even more so with things that are sanitary issues, like makeup. I don't know if that makes me anal retentive or OCD or just a snot, but that's the way I am and I feel like if I'm paying the kinds of prices I'm paying for most of the things I get at Sephora, I should be allowed to check the condition of an item before I buy it so I (and the employee) don't have to go through the hassle of returning/exchanging it, possibly multiple times.
This is why every time I fill out a customer satisfaction survey with Sephora, I always use the part where they ask for suggestions to say that I wish the products weren't out for people to take themselves.
I agree, if I pay for a new thing, I was it new, so I check things too but honestly I mostly shop online and so far never had an issue *knocks on wood* I just had couple powders getting destroyed during shipment, and I suspect UPS guys are playing soccer with some packages <.<I completely agree.. when I buy something new I want it brand spanking new. It would be a pain in the ass for Sephora not to keep the products out though, and extremely expensive and inefficient for them/the buyers since they would need a lot more employees on hand. I just wish people weren't stupid and testing from the boxed items instead of USING THE TESTER THAT IS IN FRONT OF THEM!!like come on guys! that isn't helping Sephora OR the consumers.
I also wonder if they put products back out that have been returned but SLIGHTLY used, and if people are getting those items in their shipments. Anyone know how that works? I know they have shrinkage reserves but I doubt they would write off slightly used products. Do they send them back to get fixed like Nordstrom does with their shoes/clothing, or do they just resell them?
I have! It does feel good on the skin, but I prefer liquid primers over balms. My first Sephora box came today! It was just chance that I had stayed home to respond to rapid fire emails going back and forth over a grant application (Lunch, then into work for me). I don't even have to go pick it up, which is nice! Purchases: Clinique super rescue Too faced small priming powder (loose) Benefit Mr. Feel Good matte (Who has used this? Will have to google more info) Bonuses/samples: Urban decay 500 point bonus Clinique chubby stick Smashbox primer Korres Vitamin E primer Agave oil hair treatment
The Clinique Chubby Stick bonus was Mightiest MarachinoWas the Clinique Chubby Stick bonus Roomiest Rose? I'm wearing that today.
This would be great. Why can't they seal makeup the way they seal movies or CDs? Even just some shrink wrap would work. There are so many kinds of tamper-evident packaging, I don't see why it shouldn't be used to package makeup.Got my first order yesterday and it was missing a Dolce & Gabbana powder foundation. Sad and a little annoyed but I understand the warehouse must be going crazy with all the sale orders. Customer Service on the phone was super nice. Could hear other convos in the background. That place sounded like a madhouse!
As for testing items in the store, it would be nice if the items for purchase were sealed better so that we could see if they were tampered with and it might make it harder for people to help themselves to testing them.
Mightiest Maraschino. Definitely a red.Was the Clinique Chubby Stick bonus Roomiest Rose? I'm wearing that today.
I may have to check that out, thanks for the tip! Free shipping often does not apply to CanadaBarneys.com has it... free shipping. I just bought it full price lol i hope it works for darker skinned ladies!
This is exactly why I avoid going to the physical Sephora stores. I really don't like being hovered over or watched so carefully. I also feel pressured to buy if I ask someone a question and they show me a million things. I agree that the products shouldn't be out for a million people to open and swatch. Honestly, I really prefer to buy online, especially with Sephora's return policy. I've worked retail and I hate the pressure of the environment, either as a buyer or a seller. I would feel pressured to take one of the boxes the SA opened, even if it wasn't perfect, just because I know how annoying that job is.I almost always order my stuff from Sephora online in stead of getting it in store because I figure it's coming directly from the warehouse or whatever and it's therefore less likely it's been tampered with.
