I'm still learning the ways of contour. I'm slowly but surely getting there.
http://youtu.be/QKz_2ScmjUs This video is amazing!!! for contouring up to 7:20. After 7:20 i have to say i highly disagree with what she says about contouring placement, sooo take it as you will. And if you use an actual contour powder as opposed to a bronzer :eek:hboy:, your contour results will be amazing!!!

So I went to the counter to check out this collection in person and fell in love with Superb. The other skinfinishes were pretty but I wasn't wowed over them like Superb. I liked the lipsticks too my favorite was SS but to me it kind of looked like my BGRR I don't know maybe my eyes were playing tricks on me lol . But then I was about to have a heart attack cause I asked the girl if they had Exclusive Event and she said let me check she came back telling me she had one in stock. I snatched that sucker quick from her hands I've been searching everywhere for that damn lipstick and everyone was sold out. I'm in love with that color such a pretty nude grey color now I regret not getting Steel Kiss too to pair with it Ha!

Erine I'm still learning to contour also! Do you think this brush will work with liquid? I bought the nars radiant creamy concealer in a darker color to contour.

What's a good highlighter and contour powder for it? I used some concealer palette and it looks too bright for highlight and white in photos and the dark color looked muddy.

See this is what I've been wondering. It seems like most people use a bronzer to contour, but shouldn't a contour color be more grey toned? I don't think the bronzer looks bad but I can't imagine such a warm look in the fall or winter. Do you use the sculpting powders, Erine? And would Shadowy be good for NC42? Thanks for any help. I never contour, but I wanna start and don't wanna look crazy lol.

Yea I have no idea how to contour either :( . I hear a lot of people use a darker matte color blush and I do hear some use a bronzer as well like Hula from Benefit

I just got my Magnetic Nude goodies. I got FP, MA and 2x Close Contact. I've finally found a nude that doesn't wash me out! CC is a couple shades darker than Creme d'Nude and that one didn't look good on me because it was too light. Other 'nudes' I do like are more brown and I really wanted a true nude so I'm very happy and excited! I didn't look like Viva Glam Gaga 2 on me. I didn't take that with me but from memory it's more yellow and brown. CC had the right amount of pink in it to compliment my skin very well.

Only powders. This brush is sooo fine, liquids will weigh it down. I'd suggest mac's 163, but again, i wouldn't suggest a concealer to contour with, as the colour doesn't give the right effects needed for a proper contour.

I'd say either shadester or shadowy. I'm leaning more toward shadester with a heavy hand or shadowy with a lighter hand, depending on the brush and desired result.

You wanna use something grey-toned in colour for contouring. The problem with foundations and concealers is that they are skin-tone in colour, and bronzers are warm, creating the illusion of a sunkissed glow (warm) on the high plains of the face in the E3 shape and are used instead of contouring/highlighting. Contouring creates shadows (grey) in the hollows of the face. I'm not a fan of using foundations/concealers for anything other than what they are-foundations and concealers. There's a reason contour and highlighting products exist-to be used  MAC has contour and highlight powders, as does Anastasia and i believe BH Cosmetics. I'm sure other brands do too. You can use matte highlights or shimmer, but a contour colour must always be matte! Any form of shimmer and you lose any bit of depth you were trying to create.

Marry me cuz of the bolded! :bouquet: Thank you!!! You never want a warm colour for a contour. Does it look bad? No. Does it look off? Definitely! Here's one way to look at it. Why do we use a warm colour to bronze on the high points of the face (E3-forehead, cheekbones, jawline-different placement than contouring btw)? Now, why would we wanna use that same colour to create depth? And yes, i use sculpt when i contour, which is very rarely! I prefer to highlight personally. For you I think Shadowy may be too dark, so id check out that I'd check out that and shadester as well. It all depends on the brush you use and how intense you want it.

And i cringe every time!

I don't know what's wrong with me but I'm just not happy with Superb. I love Autoerotique although it looks a bit more orange on me than on others but Superb won't become one of my favourites. I tried it on my cheekbones as a simple highlighter today and it's nice but not worth 28€. I don't know if I should keep it since I haven't got one single highlighter or if I should try and swap it for At Dusk. I could bite my a$$ for not getting At Dusk when I had the chance!

It is a very in your face highlighter and it can be overdone easily. I would return or sell if you do not like it.

It's not even that it's too much for me, I just expected a bit more and it does nothing for me.

I'll try and swap it for At Dusk in another forum or, if no one's interested, I'll sell it.
