The one thing I pitty the Europeans for is the price on oil based products. Gas and oil for your vehicle is incredibly expensive because unlike the US they don't refine their own oil here. My car usually takes about $45 to fill up but when I have to fill up with local prices it's well over $120. If Europeans could fill up their cars for €33 (the equivalent of $45) they would be ecstatic! I on the other hand will be happy to not have to pay €99 for an oil change once I get back to the states.
Ha! This is so true. I used to live in Texas and everybody was complaining about gas prices. But I was a happy camper. Gas prices are about four times cheaper in the US than in Europe. Go figure.

Can't be bothered to read so many pages. I'll just look at the photos and say to who ever posted the pic of Idris Elba... Thank you very much, I love him to bits:bouquet:

After having seen these European prices I am happy to see $3.50 a gallon. My best friend was in California and complaining about just of 4 bucks a gallon. Right now the average price for gas in Germany is $8.21 per gallon. bleh!

For what it's worth, the public transport system in Germany is extensive and usually very reliable, despite minor delays. You can virtually get from A to B anywhere in Germany using public transport, even if "A" is somewhere in the neck of the woods. It makes up, at least a little bit, for the high gas prices (which really stink!).

That is absolutely true. Local transport isn't too expensive but take an ICE a few hours from home and it can get costly. We got a 3 day rail pass to take a trip to Berlin and it was 400€ for 2 adults. Although, I think if you use the train often you can get much better rates.

Ordered 6:13 am yesterday - just received my email from nordstorm that my Enchanted One lipstick was canceled - second collection release in a row this has happened - I'm so annoyed with them. This was definitely my last release I place my order with them. I should of went with macys because now I've missed Bloomingdales release too

Very true. Advanced booking saves you a ton. If I book the Thalys in advance, I can get a return ticket (Paris, France to Cologne, Germany) for less than 50 Euro.

This or, if you travel a lot within Germany only, you can get the BahnCard100.It seems to be expensive at first but it is not because you can use any train for any distance as often as you want for one year.It also includes the CityTicket for (free) local transport.

MAC in Germany is expensive to Americans who are used to American Dollars, but I think if you earn and live on Euros then it's not as bad.  You pay €19 with tax already added in, but I would be really paying $26.  But I think you are right.  The tax rate is around 19% here but the public programs benefit everyone in a good way. My car takes about $65 to fill up but I have a charger.

Same in London, we have the Oyster Card to travel in London and to towns that accept the Oyster Card. I pay £142 for the month to go on the buses to wherever for free and tube and trains within my travelcard zones

I think some people are just catching up on sleep! When I was traveling recently I didn't buy any makeup I could buy in the states because the euro is killing the dollar but I did get a few things exclusive to the area I was in. Yes where you live in the world is often contingent on what you want from the place you are living. USA does need to working on the health care system in regards to it's affordability. Gas is a dream here and if you live in Metro area with a public transportation that is usually the way to go. Where I live is expensive but I do like for the versatility.

Amy Leigh, really, I never have trouble with Nordstrom's during a launch they are my go behind MAC, Macy's usually takes longer to ship but it comes . sorry you missed Bloomies, I get my stuff very quickly because of my location but try calling Nordstrom and if that doesn't work try to call your local Mac store. Nordstrom is likely to restock certian items but it will be a waiting game just like MAC!

Thanks, I'll check it out. Usually when to travel it's outside of Germany, but we are getting ready to move back the the US. The rail pass actually did work out very well for us, even though it was a little expensive. Oh well the adventures we have had are priceless. :)

Sorry this happened to you, AmyLeigh. This happened to me with Nordies and Bloomies online. I don't trust them with MAC LE launches anymore. I hope you get your lippie somehow.

Both my Nordies orders shipped! I was worried Lorelei would be cancelled since I didn't buy during the initial rush, but MUCH later on in the afternoon when it happened to pop back up magically.

Now the waiting game

Edit: OH! And both orders shipped WITH their samples, instead of two extra boxes full of foil packets. MADNESS.
