Plus, they're too expensive! I remember when I'd get change back from $2 for a pack! Just image how much makeup you could buy instead of cigarettes!
I have to agree with this. I'm trying to quit now and when I get the urge, outside of social drinking, I have begun to assess why I want a cigarette. It ranges from being bored, tired, hungry, angry, anxiety, and needing something to do with my hands as well. Even in social settings I smoked b/c I was bored, or tired of talking to ppl or ran out of conversation. Some of it is the addiction though. Because even as I type this, thinking about holding that cigarette makes me want one. But after this last sinus infection lasted 6+ weeks, I said eff it, I'm done. Prior to that, I'd go to the store, even now at 230 in the am for a pack....

I decided to get a backup of cranberry from nordies that way I only have to get one in store. I'm play catch-up but no one has had issues yet with the back orders right?

Same lol I'm really nocturnal I hate mornings and feel like death when I have to be up early! Staying up all night I can do

Yah I hear ya, I started smoking when I was 12 and haven't really quit yet for 21 years.  I started smoking to deal with stress from really bad trauma that continued on throughout my life, but happily my situation changed a few years ago and I'm now starting to really adjust and move past it so I'm hopeful that I can quit soon!! :flower:   And yes!! About it being a waste of money!
My brother started at 12 too. And he is in his 30s and still hasn't quit. I wish he would but he likes it he says.

God bless you I'm surrounded by smokers my mom my sister and my father
Being surrounded by smokers makes it hard at first. But once you quit, the smell is so offensive, you end up wondering why you smoked in the first place. That and having a parent die due to contributing factors from smoking kinda knocks some sense into ya. If you really wanna do it, you can do it.
congrats on being smoke free my dear friend! My sister has been smoke free for 2 years now! She was a social smoker and when she was bored like you needed something to do with her hands when she wasn't working. But she quit for my mom because she cares for her along with me and it is a hazard to our mother's health! That and due to caring for our mom, her friends dropped her because she couldn't hang out like she used too.
Thanks Dolly! Congrats to your sister! It's amazing the toll it takes on your health. Now that i sit here and think about it, none of my friends smoke. All my friends in high school did, and all my coworkers at my job before i quit did too. But after i quit none of my friends or coworkers from that point forward smoke(d). It's just a weird random thing that i never put any thought into until just now. Hmmm. :hmm:

Omg not to just jump all up in the convo but... My guy has been smoking.... Other stuff.... Since he was like in 6th grade. So whatever it's normal here anyway this IS Cali lol. But what I didn't know when we were together was that he was a serious cigarette smoker. I don't even know how much because he kept it at work then hit the bong at home. I'm okay with social smokers but I couldn't stand the thought if being with a hardcore smoker. Long story short, I had no idea how to tackle addiction. So I was just mean about it, but he actually quit cold turkey. Him and everyone from family to friends to work associates are so proud. He's so happy he quit (still has his other stuff though lol) I just feel now maybe I went about it the wrong way..luckily it turned out good

That's so true. It was really hard for him working at a dealer but now he gets so grossed out by the smell he's told his sales men not to smoke so much because they stink so bad it might offend customers! New car smoke and cigarette...they all probably hate me lol

Smoking during a sinus infection was the WORST! Just keep that mindset about no more and you can do it!

Well, pot is pot! It all natural and has major medicinal value. It cures cancer, increases appetite for those who have none due to chemo, and other positive things that are too numerous to count. No one has ever died from smoking pot, and the government just needs to make it legal everywhere, with limitations of course. Meanwhile, alcohol is completely legal, and people dying from that every day.

Yeh well I pulled the, me or cigarettes. Which is really fucked up and I don't think should be done to a person but at the time I didn't know how else to get him to stop. Plus he was like you weren't very clear about quitting. Soooo I made it crystal clear

So very true! Your life is better and healthier after quitting. I told my sister you are already a big woman that's one point against you in the life score. Now she eats better and has quit smoking and she is happier.
