I'm on the same page with you. I went through a short period of wanting things just because they're rare or LE, but now realize I could have saved a ton of money if I had skipped them.
Same, since I ultimately end up using the same colors most days. But there are some gems I've grabbed that I've either never seen anywhere else or were never released again by MAC. Those I don't regret at all! Grey Friday, Firm Form and Ronnie Red come to mind immediately.

Hey, I'm fine, thanks :) I wanted to get the blush, but I decided to skip. I think it might be kinda close to Plum Foolery and I'm also more into matte blushes at the moment. I'm still looking forward to see swatches of it though.
I was hoping to get more swatches before the release, but I'm still looking forward to it.

This x1000. "Collecting" is a dangerous thing to do with anything really, even things that don't have a shelf life. You always feel pressured to get more to have things feel "complete", to keep up with new releases, to hunt down older parts of a set, etc. All of the highly coveted/hard to get/collectible cosmetics I've purchased over the years are now 90% either B2M or in the trash. They're not worth the plastic casing they're in anymore. Most people don't want to buy used, expired makeup so they have no re-sale value. Even if it hasn't been used a lot of people don't want it. I now only try to buy products I will love and use often. Often being the key word. I personally don't want to have collections of anything ever, I've seen what the end game of that can look like if you have a perfectionist personality type and it's not pretty. And yes, things are getting more expensive every year.. I can't chase that anymore either.
Completely agree! I was going thru my stash last night and found so many dupes for the collections coming up I had forgotten about. I haven't seen a truly unique color of anything in the new in ages.

From T's review: "I’ll never understand why MAC doesn’t promote a shade like Typographic, which isn’t quite as dark as Carbon, but it is more pigmented and easier to blend"

Preach!

Lol, I just read the review and after that sentence I went ''Amen!'' in my head.

T's swatches made me kinda not want the Riff Raff palette. Maybe I'll get it later if it doesn't sell out immediately. Kinda just want the Frank N Furter lipstick now.

sad we have no swatches from K, maybe early tomorrow morning before it goes live. I finally saw T's and yeah I'm not liking her swatches. That's why I said I'll just buy all four. I love reds anyway.

The lippies, both nail polish, and the blush. But I tell you, all these reds are starting to look the same to me.
They are all starting to blend together and I think after these, kinky and possibly sparks of romance from heirloom I'm not going to buy anymore reds for awhile.
