Guerlain Holiday 2014- A Night at the Opera

Yes, I'm surprised it isn't talked about at all. It's an Asia and France boutique exclusive. It's part of their blanc de perle line that we don't get here, so you can imagine it's all about the glow. I'll try to take some pictures when I get home, but my balls are all white in tone with just barely a whisper of pink, blue, and white gold.. I wouldn't even consider them pastel shades, just shades of white and opal, I guess. I have tried several of the balls, and I have to say the 00 balls are quite different from the other ones. It leaves a pearly white sheen that can get too intense if I'm not careful, but I definitely notice that angelic glow.

Here are a few online reviews. I'd say mine show a bit more color variation, as I can see the slight blue balls, but you get the idea.

Edit: I forgot to mention, I call them my snow balls because they look like glistening snow. My husband gets a kick every time I talk about Meteorites because we just refer to them as the balls.
Oh I love the white balls. They are just lovely----I immediately thought of Chanel's Delice & the holiday highlighter Platine. Thanks so much for sharing!!!

That's right! They are similar, but they have more of a sheen with shimmer than just the shimmer from Delice. I can actually wear the Meteorites on my whole face.

I went to the store but found out they can't put the collection out yet (I gather they get their fingers rapped if they pull the trigger before the Guerlain flagship store releases them). I tried Medium and liked them so much that I ended up bringing them home; they're lovely and even cheaper.

I concur with everyone that they impart a glow but it's hard to put your finger on it. I've always been put off by the glitter in the pearls but even this glitterphobe has to admit that it doesn't transfer to the face. They're lovely.

I probably won't bother with the holiday pearls now; if I happen to love them when they release they can be a Christmas gift from my husband.

The best part is that they don't have that vile violet fragrance most of my bronzers do; they're scented but it's much subtler. More talc like.

Thanks Meddy! I'll scratch that off my list! What brush would you suggest?
I like a fluffy brush, and I swipe it lightly across the balls and then lightly over my face. Since the balls are luxurious I like using a brush that feels equally luxurious, so I reach for my
Tom Ford Bronzer brush, Chanel Powder Brush or MAC 134 Lg Powder brush. If i'm going for the décolleté I reach for my Louise Young Super Fan brush. It's big & dense and glides nicely across the top of the girls.

I would say, get to know your balls first and play around w/brushes in your stash that can pick up the product to your satisfaction and deliver it as you would prefer it. I just like big and fluffy when it comes to applying and distributing powder products to my face & décolleté.

*It took me ages to read that because every time I read the word "balls" I started giggling.*

I used my MAC 134 for mine. I'd thought I might splurge on the Hakuhodu J104, but there's no reason to.

Thanks @Audrey C and @Medgal07 for the brush recommendations! Anyone ever try the Mac 138 or the Makeup Forever #128? Temptalia mentioned in an old post she sometimes uses the 138 for the balls. If I'm going to dish out money on a brush, I like that that one is tapered and could multi-task. Not sure whether it's dense enough though.

And I was just looking at the MUFE #128 on Sephora the other day and thought it was a unique powder brush.

EDIT: Here's a pic of the Mac 138, MUFE 128 and TF Bronzer Brush side by side http://dates-r-us.info/wp-content/plugins/wp-o-matic/cache/92e0eb6f39_brushmusthaves-powder001.jpg
