Your balls don't look as bronze as Temptalia's. How's that working for you?
I've not yet tried them but I expect my result will differ from T's. Her balls were a powdery mess, and I have to assume that contributed to her bronzy outcome.

Aren't they just delicious looking? There are more rosy balls on the bottom. I was thinking that was perhaps no coincidence and does factor into the the color pay-off and distribution when applied.

Beautiful! See, those I like. Not that bronzy hot mess tin Christine had.

So, I posted this question earlier but I'm still curious - does anyone know whether the different color balls impart a different finish for day vs night? Because in the description for the holiday balls on Bloomies, they say they are designed to enhance the complexion at night under lights. I haven't seen any of the other balls specify day/night or different lighting situations. Just curious whether there was any rationale behind that statement or whether this was just marketing speak.

I'm gonna step out on a limb here and say it's probably the same principle as the sunlight illuminating the high planes of the face. Does that make sense?

I dont believe thats the case and I guess the rationale is just marketing speak to go with the theme. While the shades may vary slightly from one another, the finish is almost the same with all the loose pearl versions I have tried and since it doesnt say a night/day version and works just fine in the daylight this should too without a problem!

I tend to agree. I do think that probably the differences in effect on the skin are so subtle that none of us would be able to detect a difference, other than perhaps one being warmer or one being whiter.

Interesting though -

I pulled this info off of a Sephora Q&A. Someone contacted Guerlain about what the different colored balls did and here was the response:
Pink - healthy glow
green - corrects redness and red patches
mauve - attracts light
white - lightens and refreshes
gold and mother of pearls - adds radiance and highlights

So perhaps there is something more to it. I just think the holiday one with a predominance of rose pink and copper shades is heavy on the "adding radiance, highlights and glow" whereas some of the others may be more light-attracting? I don't know - my best guess!

Yeah, I guess I was just under the assumption that the point of all of the variations of balls was to illuminate the face/blur imperfections. I could see how, for example, one with more yellow or green balls may theoretically hide redness better but I'm not clear what about this holiday set would specifically illuminate best at night in dim light.

As a newbie, I was wondering if it was a combination of marketing (makeup for a glamorous night out at the opera) and what the effect is supposed to be.

Neither Ommorphia or Christine mentioned anything specifically about it being geared towards a night look, did they? I'd like to hear your thoughts when you get them

So jealous of everyone who got their balls today! My shipment was delayed so I am sitting at home ball-less. I went to my local Chanel counter to pick up the holiday highlighter... and after making me fall in love with it, the SA told me they didn't even get the shipment in!! They only had the display one. Booooooooo. So I guess I'll be getting that next week. She's going to hold one for me.

I'm so antsy for my balls to come in the mail-- I just wanna play with them already.

Sorry about your delay! The Chanel highlighter would have tied you over until tomorrow but it seems you have a lot to look forward to.
