I definitely want to try on Adriano. Maybe I'll pop by the counter after work tomorrow and give him a go.

I completely forgot that the post-Christmas release was for 8 weeks and had resigned myself to missing out on this collection. (Which is fine since I own so many other lipsticks).

I picked up Cooper, Matthew, and Michael- and a lovely case for them.

Shockingly enough, I'm quite satisfied with just the three. I have no idea what is going on with me!

I have Slander

I think it is funny. And I admire her gumption as an indie to make some noise. Why not? It's not hurting anyone, least of all Tom Ford.
An indie brand standing up to a commercial giant is one thing. An indie brand claiming that because a commercial brand brought out a supposedly similar product idea within 6 months of its supposedly original idea is hard to swallow. If you think of what goes into actually creating a line as wide as the Lips and Boys for an international release, I find it hard to think that Tom Ford (the company) just thought it up in 6 months. To me, her bellowing in the wind makes me less interested in her brand. She should do what any sensible business person would do, write a legal letter to the company, alert them of any copyright infringement/patent breaches and go from there. Once the case is settled and a court awards in your favour, then you will be compensated. The repeated posting on instagram will not help her brand. Business doesn't work like that.

I think this is how she is trying to get attention,
they also released a lipstick color called "Tom Ford Blows"
lol, I can't imagine that these two brands are the first to give
boy names to lipsticks. There must be even more of them.

I bet she'll actually lose a lot of business over this.

I agree. I've never heard of this indie brand before, but that's very low. I'm not really familiar with these laws, but his name is trademarked, so he can sue her, right? And it's definitely stated that it's named after him so she can't get away with lying. Not that I think they will sue the brand but if someone has to be blamed for theft, it's the indie brand.

Yes, Tom Ford is a registered trademark. Even his logo with the black font and caps will be trademarked! I'm sure they won't go after her because it's likely she wouldn't be able to afford to pay a settlement. But they can darn well bring a cease and desist motion against her or get some other form of injunction requiring her to stop. If she goes further and starts to make any false claims against the brand or its owners, she could be looking at a defamation or libel suit. She should just simmer down and do her leg work like a sensible business person if her claims are true.

If Estee Lauder has good sense, which I am sure it does, it will do nothing. First because as someone stated there's no money in it for them. Second, because it would make them look foolish to go after a small fry, who is having no effect on their business. Outside of a certain milieu, no one is aware this is even happening. And I am sure that Estee Lauder prefers it that way. But to me, that brand is like a yippy puppy to be nipping at the heels of such a large company. In the nail polish world, I go for indies 100% but not so much in other cosmetics. Tom Ford could be more in danger of being sued by some of the men whose names he used, because in some cases, it might be considered "outing them." But for the very same reason that he will not bring publicity to the lipstick they formulated with his name, anyone disgruntled at being included in the list of Tom Ford's friends and lovers will also keep their mouths shut. Of course, beauty product lines copy each other all the time, and no one says, you stole my Springtime Eye Palette> LOL.

I just want to clarify that I didn't mean that Tom Ford (or Estee Lauder) should sue this brand, if anyone misunderstood me. I'm just wondering how you can blame someone for something and then do a similar thing..
