Why can't Mac simply send 20-30 of each LE item. What's the point of spending millions of dollars on advertising only to send two sellable products to a counter. Please!! What is the point????
MAC doesn't spend any money on advertising. They only spend money on promo images, but they never advertise in magazines, billboard, etc.

Yeah, I definitely know there are a lot of impulse buyers out there =), but there are also plenty of people who are just addicts and collectors who love having everything (like many people up here lol). There is no way that they are making as much money producing small quantities than they could be by making larger quantities. This would only be true if they made a few quantities and sold it at double or triple the cost of a regular lippie. Even if a regular person was walking in the store and saw the lipsticks, they would get sales off of them...probably more impulse buyers lol. They would not have a hard time selling out of the lipsticks, even with greater quantities. That's why I think the business model is poor, but I do understand what you're saying about the impulse buying.
Oh I'm definitely a collector lol and an addict. I have loads of mac but all I'm saying is they are operating with a strategy and is part of the reason they're so successful. If people were fed up with the way they operated with such low quantities, they wouldn't keep coming back time and time again to get their hands on the latest collection. It's not everyone's cup of tea for sure. But I don't mind it.

Good for you! Sounds like you seriously lucked out. Great to hear :)
Thanks! After the online fiasco I figured screw it! I'll never get there early enough or before a ton of people but I decided to just attempt it, I got there around 9:45 and was honestly shocked there was no one waiting outside the door except some older people whom I figured weren't there for Bao Bao haha. This has honestly been a rough couple of weeks so this felt kinda good! Finally a success! Haha.

Girl, they always trying to give somebody a recipe for somethin lol...I wanted some color one time and the girl was trying to give me a "recipe" for it and the finishes weren't even the same (matte, etc). Let us know if you try that out though!
Half the time not even close! Lmao!

Yeah, I remember (back when RiRi came out) John Demsey was bragging about not spending a single dollar on advertising. They just "unleash the power of social media".

No hun I wasn't interested since I do have Nyx Violet, Lavender and other similar ones... I'm trying not to buy dupes when I already rarely wear the ones I have in my collection... I knew u would be in a state of bliss however
Heck I have those NYX ones too (actually only Lavender, must have bought Violet for my sis, but I have purple from their Wicked line) and somehow I ended up wanting LJ. I have issues with purples. I just bought a matte from the cheapo brand Ruby Kisses for $2.99, my kinda price!

I can probably mix it with Lavender and get LJ, lmaoo. Oh no, I'm getting an NYX shipment today with new products, two of which are purple lippies (intense butter gloss and the high pigment lipsticks). I have issues. I wear them though!

I know it's not the same as having a premade lipstick in a gorgeous LE tube but..... DON'T FORGET ABOUT LIPMIX!!!!!

You can make ANY color that MAC can with just a few tubes of Lipmix, it's fun to experiment to try and match colors, and you can tweak every color to make it your best.

I just uploaded this to the Cinderella thread, but figured it's relevant here as well. Not dupes, but they're super close on the lips. I would think twice before buying both!

For the Riri Holiday launch, the doors opened and I was walking fast and everyone else RAN past me, I was like, "Oh, are we running?", totally clueless. Then others came running from the side entrance and intercepted. My first experience with that crap. Then after that is when I went to Montague and nearly got frost bite...ahhh, good times. Never did that ish again though.
At much as I love makeup, running for a lipstick is a no no... But then again, I did travel all over London just to grab the Lily White pigment from FoF. I'm willing to cue up, if I'm in the area. Otherwise, I'll order online, CP or hope and pray that what I want is still in stock.
All this talk about Cyber World makes me want to try it. That sounds like a nice combo too. (CW and Lavender Jade)
It'll be a hot combo. Definitely will deepen LJ.

I admit, I can be a bit of makeup hoarder and a collector. Depending on the ocassion, I happily choose a colour lipstick/eyeshadow/whatever it may be, and work with it. Or if I'm doing my stepmum's makeup, I'll let her choose what lipstick and what not and work with it. I try my hardest to try and use what I already have, but sometimes when it's that one of a kind item... I just want to look at it and not use it

So om Romantic Breakdown... This for me is a total sleeper hit in this collection. I'm totally utterly in love with this color o-m-g! It literally makes me lips GLOW. Only downside... it didn't smell right. Almost like it's already going bad. Maybe it's the formula or color I dunno. Should I have them send me a new one?
