Tom Ford Beauty Discussion

This is my suggestion. I have lots of experience with NM, my mama has shopped there for over 35 years. If they have your email address they will send you a copy of the receipt for your purchase. Let it rip on the 4 minute survey they ask on the bottom for you to click on. Even if it is for another line, you can get it clear it is about the bitch from TF. If you don't have that option. Call the store and ask for the VP of Operations, and let it rip. Then ask for the email of the cosmetic manager and VP of Operations if they are not able to take your call. Remember, if the upper management do not know what bitches they have, they can't correct it. The survey is a huge part in their job review. And I know for a fact if they get a bad reviews they get in serious trouble. These are read by the VP of Operations and the Cosmetic Manager.
I always do reviews when emailed to me because in my old job, they were very important. I didn't buy from the TF counter, so I don't have her name. I should have asked. I was just so mad and flustered I wanted out ASAP. I will be making some mean calls though! If it wasn't for my amazing usual SA, they would have permanently lost a customer. I will forever be calling ahead to make sure she's there-- and that's sad. I shouldn't have to do that! Boy, CS will get an earful from me!!

If you can describe her, the time you were there, they will know who she is. Do not keep quiet. If she has done this to you, she has done it to others. Chances are the other SA's will be thankful someone finally said something. If you keep quiet you are enabling this toxic behavior.

She has to be new, and hopefully she won't last long. I felt soooo uncomfortable in the entire store. I wanted to pick up some other stuff but just left.

That is so horrible! Unfortunately this happens a lot to me although I pretty much tell them to buzz off

& sometimes, like recently at a Chanel counter, it was soooo bad that my hubs stepped in between the SA & me so he couldn't just wipe product on me etc.

If its really bad, I always call & complain. I have no idea why some MU SA are like that.

I can describe her and wrote down the time. I will give them the full story. It shouldnt happen to anyone, let alone one of their credit card holders.

If I did that in my job, I would be fired on the spot. And rightfully so. So as my mama would say, chop-chop, make the call.

I have never been so upset that I've wanted to call and complain. I should call Neiman's, right? Not TF?
Oh Lauren that's terrible. I agree with everyone's suggestions and don't have much to add - just wanted to give you a cyber hug!

Your story reminds me why I'm so reluctant to pop into stores. I find it a rarity that I can just browse or swatch without being hounded or annoyed or offended. But your story is obviously over the top. Definitely report her and let us know how NM responds!

Unless the chic was a rep from TF and not working as an employee at NM, TF has nothing to do with it. Nor will they give a rat's ass. It is NM who handles this.

It kills a sale, seriously!! I like to swatch alone, unless the rare occasion when an SA is nice. My usual TF SA, Mara, is wonderful. I actually look forward to seeing her. Hopefully this is a 1 time experience.

I called! The lady was "unavailable," so I got her email and already sent my complaint. I will be calling back in an hour until I reach somebody!

I did! I will keep contacting until I get a hold of someone. I've sent emails now and am going to try calling back in about an hour. I am so disheartened by this experience!

Talk about ruining your whole experience! I would have been pissed!!! Makeup shopping and swatching is supposed to be fun and relaxing. I do it to get a break from work once in awhile, and I don't need some pushy SA ruining my time. But she was out of control!!!

Yes, she was SO out of control. I don't know how she thought this behavior was acceptable. She was ripping on all of the products I used, and said that TF is better-- always. She told me I used cheap mascara and that why my lashes didn't look good-- excuse me!?

I wasn't able to get ahold of the specific woman to speak to about her today, but I emailed her and will be trying yet again tomorrow. NM better not give me the run around when it comes to customer service.

That's insane! Make sure you mention absolutely everything to the CS, I think directly offending a customer would get her in a big trouble, which will spare the horrible experience to other people. Makeup shopping for me is a way to relax, I love to oocasionally spend a few hours in big department stores just looking at and swatching new collections and I absolutely hate it, when someone ruins it for me, although I haven't met someone so unprofessional.

It was shocking!! She asked me what kind of mascara I use, and I told her from Sephora. (It's one thing I don't spend serious $$$ on, I'm happy with the one I have.) and She goes, "oh, well. that's cheap and why your eyelashes look like the way they do. Tom Ford mascara will make them look good."

Meanwhile at that point in the day my makeup had been on for 10-ish hours. Of course I wasn't going to look pristine!

& yes, I absolutely told them everything in email, and will when I speak to them on the phone.

I did go and swiped all the gritty ones. Except for Summer Fling the grit went away. I found Summer Fling has the most glitter in it. Hence it would make sense for the grit. Remember Nude Dip is coming back as part of the permanent line. That was the best selling product except for Black Orchid in this line. Gee, wonder if Black Orchid will someday come back too???? I did use the new cream shadow as a base for the new Armani Runway, it worked well. Along with MAC Dipdown eyeliner. The hot pink in the Armani new lipstick and gloss to me looks very much like Incorrigible from last summer.

Update: the email I was given was to the head of PR of the Boca location. She CC'd the head manager of cosmetics and she'll be getting back to me Monday morning via phone. I'll be following up with her Tuesday, incase she doesn't call Monday. I'm impressed how fast she emailed me back. We'll see what happens.

Of course I know you know this, but it shouldn't matter whether you looked "pristine". Most of us don't...ever, let alone 10 hours into the day! I'm sure you looked lovely, regardless of what brand of mascara you were wearing!?!?! (ludicrous!) There's totally no excuse for what she said. It was nasty and demeaning and I wonder did she think that approach was going to get her sales?! I'm baffled by her behavior.

That is awesome! I'm so glad to hear you had a quick response. Any time I've ever emailed NM about anything, they've been extremely quick to respond. I hope they will respond compassionately to your situation. Keep us posted!

Aw, you are too sweet!! And I agree-- no matter HOW I looked, as a potential paying customer, I should have been treated with respect! On the bright side, I'm glad to hear NM CS is quick to respond and was nice so far. I don't know what to expect or what will come of this complaint. I truly have never called CS to complain about a cosmetics counter before, let alone at NM.

It's a shame that you have to, but it happens. I am sure they would never want someone like that representing NM or TF. So I think it's good for you and them that you alert them to the problem. Hopefully they'll be proactive!

They're also showing some other older colors that I guess are being brought back of the regular lipsticks - Pure Pink, Moroccan Rouge, Negligee, Twist of Fate and Smoke Red - with an expected ship date in April. Black Dahlia and First Time matte lipsticks will also be back in April!
Hmmmm. I got Sweet Spot last summer. I might need to consider Paradiso

Its the free GWP ;) I don't hate it, but I'm not in love with it either.I still really really love my Chanel Le Blanc brightening makeup base in that peachy bottle.

You're so right about Blush Nude. I'm really happy I bought that one. Do you have another TF lipstick that you love & would recommend? Besides the boys LOL!
Cocoa Mirage is a lovely palette! Very smooth & pigmented.
Reds for you Sis---- Crimson Noir, Velvet Cherry & Vampire Kiss!!
