WOW! The effect of the smoothing primer on her nose is incredible. I really hope those are not photoshopped, like she claims. I think I might try that one too! Thank you so much for this link.
I have the same thoughts as you. #2 looked like there some "blur" magic going on.

Mine does that sometimes. Apparently the smoothing one is mattifying as well so get that sample too. Check out this review http://musicalhouses.blogspot.com/2015/03/mufe-step-1-skin-equalizer-primer.html. I also want to try the Nourishing and Hydrating but idk which one to get. It seems like they both do the same things.
Thanks for linking to my blogpost! It's been a few years since my last spectra post, but it absolutely feels great to be back! I thought maybe I'd respond to some of the comments on this thread since there were some questions about the product and the photos! I've never tried the nourishing or hydrating primer, so I'm going to be pretty useless on this, but from what I can tell, the Nourishing one is richer than the Hydrating one. When I tried looking up the ingredients for both, it seems like the nourishing one has more emollient ingredients (like shea butter, capric triglycerides etc) whereas the hydrating one doesn't have as many as these but seems to have lighter/less thicker emollients and more humectants instead (it has water, isododecane, butylene glycol, dimethicone).

The photos aren't photoshopped for sure! I only adjusted the lighting because the photo was a bit dark and blue-tinted initially. It does look really good in photos, especially. I was surprised when I was looking through the photos for the product, because I wasn't expecting such a drastic effect on camera either - I thought it might look nice in person, and somewhat show up on the camera, but instead this turned out to have the best effect when taking photos. I think it has this light-scattering effect because of the silica inside, which really lends itself to photography.
Whoa. That smoothing primer looks magical.
It is! It's now my "save for photography" primer. Like in my response above, my theory is that it looks good particularly in photos because of the silica and other silicones etc that have light scattering properties.
I have the same thoughts as you. #2 looked like there some "blur" magic going on. :eek:hboy:
There's no photoshopping of the photos - in any case I don't even have Photoshop on my laptop! I'm not surprised that people are asking, I had another comment on another blurring primer review (not the MUFE one) asking how I took my photos for the MUFE and the other primer, and did I change my camera setting etc etc. (Basically they didn't dispute that I didn't edit my pictures, but they wanted to know if I was using different camera settings or other camera trickery to deliberately blur the "after" photo.) They went into more technical detail about cameras than I know myself! I did adjust the lighting because the original photos were a bit dark and blue-tinted, because I was taking the photos on a cloudy day, but definitely no blurring involved! I edit my photos with GIMP (not gonna shell out the $$$$ for Photoshop lol), and I use it to colour correct my photos (eg original photos turn out too blue, too yellow, too dark, etc), to crop the photos if there is a need to, and to place my watermark. I hope this helps to answer all the questions! :) sorry for the super long post!

Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts with the product. Your reviews are very helpful. I'm sold!!! :pompom:
You're welcome! I'm always happy to answer questions and clarify. I can definitely understand the suspicion since there are definitely shady bloggers and YTers who have over-edited photos or videos, so any questions I can help to clear up, I'm always happy to do!

Kat Von D Lolita is back in stock.. if anyone really still wants it. ;)

I got to try the hourglass bronzers last night.. They both looked very orange and glittery when swatched on my arm. I was NOT impressed, at all. I am erasing them from my shopping cart.. :-(

When I saw the swatches on Temptalia, .... they just looked so orange.
I'm around her same complexion, maybe a little warmer so it wouldn't have looked too different from her. Not impressed :/

I'll still swatch in store and see whats up :/

Yes, they even look orange on her. The most shocking thing to me - is the noticeable glitter in it. Most hourglass products have varying degrees of sheen/luminosity.. but these had noticeable chunks of glitter..granted - it might not transfer to the face..sometimes things can show on your arm/hands, but somehow not show on the face.. and also, it might have just been Sephora's bright lights.

There is not much difference between the two shades.. the lighter shade seemed to have more glitter.. and the darker shade is just a hair darker.

I did NOT like them.. Wish I would have taken a picture in store so I could post it, but I did not even think about it until now.

I had the darker one in my loves and after watching Heather's video I took it right back out. I have hell with bronzers. Most end up making me look muddy.

Thanks so much for the detailed review. I was curious about the smoothing one and I am SOLD on that now.
Yes, this worked well for me, and I hope you like it too! Fingers crossed it works out for you! I feel like primers and foundations can be pretty finicky things - different skin types react differently, and sometimes if you layer the wrong products together they ball up and peel off and things like that, which is why I advocated getting a sample to try if possible before buying in the review (so as to avoid things like the primer not layering well with the foundation you want to use it with). But it is a good product and it did work very nicely on me :)
First- love your blog. Second- thanks for popping up here to clarify (I totally want to try that primer now). Third- you should come play here more often! :party2:
Thanks so much! I don't know why I stopped dropping by - I think it just dropped off my radar when I got busy and I never picked it back up probably! But def looking forward to hanging around a little more!

I wear sheer glow with nars primer and love it. it's the best combo.
I don't have NARS primer anymore because it didn't work with my other foundations or my oily skin. I have never tried it with the Sheer Glow though. Either way I'm trying the newest foundation this time.

Thank you for you help! I'll be trying the nourishing primer instead of the hydrating one then. I really love how you broke it down and made it easy for everyday people to understand :)

It might be that sheer glow didn't work for you since your skin is oily? I am normal to dry and I like it. Sometimes it even enhance my dryness that's why I love it with the primer. I use the radiant one not the matte (primer)

Thank you, I don't consider myself an expert by any means, but I do like looking up ingredients and stuff, so that's one of the first things I check out when I'm considering a product (esp skincare)! I'm glad I could help!

It's really impressive the amount of hype ABH has created on instagram. It's like Mac now. Still, I haven't found anything by them to get excited about outside of the brow wiz and that potted brow gel, whatever it's called. I'm cross with Sephora because I ordered that Nails Inc polish last Saturday & it's scheduled to arrive Monday. Way too damn long. It sold out for a bit on Sephora when I decided I needed a backup & so I went to beauty.com and got another one Tuesday and it arrived this morning. WTH, Sephora? And no I didn't bother finding out where they ship from and the distance between me and them or anything, but that standard shipping from Sephora is for the birds.
