Ya know, my package hasn't arrived yet and I'm already thinking of returning a few shades after viewing online comparisons with shades I already have that don't get enough love... So far I've seen only slight differences which won't justify me keeping them all Men Love Mystery = Ri Ri Boy Antique Velvet = Film Noir Stone = Styled in Sepia I should have ordered D is for Danger but of course Temptalias swatches were wayyy off as usual... Matte Royal may be the only winner for me! Tuesday will tell all!
Sometimes I can't with her swatches...smh. On a side note if Stone looks close to Styled in Sepia that would be good for me since I missed it and wanted it so badly.

*~*I'm in the minority, but I love Whirl on me. It's the perfect neutral rose shade for me...if MAC changes the shade, that will be disappointing, because it's my favorite. As someone with a deeper skin tone, it's really difficult to find rose/mauve shades that look good on me (and not like I've just eaten a powdered doughnut), so when I find one I like, I stick with it.*~*

Whirl looks so good on you. I hear you, it's really tricky to find rosy brown shades for us darker girls so I'm happy Whirl is the way it is.

Honestly, when I was writing my comment about it on here I wanted to describe it as a mocha color!

When I was taking swatch pics yesterday, I HAD to pull out "Pander Me" and compare because that's what "Whirl" reminded me of - which is what made me think of "Persistence," since my first thoughts on that one were that it was a darker version of PM. I really wanted some mauve in the color, but I really don't see any of it on me, lol. I'm flexible about the colors I wear, yet I still feel disappointed.

I know. :( And the worst part is there is the slightest orange in it on me lolol. Pink > Orange for me all day, everyday.
Nooooooooooo! I don't want it to have even a tinge of orange in it

That looks pretty on u! I agree with ur statement because certain rosy/nude-browns do not flatter me although some may love them, for example Velvet Teddy looks horrid on me but it's a WOC staple for many...

Her lip swatches r off 75% of the time for me and I've actually skipped things and then gagged later when I see the testers in store, many times things have been sold out... She is very consistent which is why I continue to visit her blog for "ideas" of how a color may be haha

Wait wut!? Does it look like Spice??? I just do not like that kinda shade on me! That orange or pink undertone will make or break Miss Whirl for me...

I just picked up KVD Cathedral and it is a beautiful 90's inspired matte rosy brown... I'm wondering how it compares to Whirl... I swatched the coveted Lolita and its orangey tone wasn't very flattering against my skin... I'm hoping Whirl is WOC friendly because I just didn't see it for Lolita in lipstick form
*~*Lolita looked orange-ish on me as well, which is why I hated it. Lol Whirl is WOC friendly for sure!!*~*

*~*Same here...Brink turned into a peachy-pink on me, so I think Whirl will definitely work for you.*~* *~*Lolita looked orange-ish on me as well, which is why I hated it. Lol Whirl is WOC friendly for sure!!*~*
The orangey shades need to have enough brown in it for it to work for me... I liked Pander Me and Persistence but have many similar shades... I'm glad Whirl is WOC friendly

Do you have or ever tried Chanel's Base Teint in 10 Rosee? OMG I LOVE how it makes my skin look so soft flawless & glowy. I thought of you when I put it on this morning. I also adore  Chanels white illuminating base! I used that teint & then Mac's Golden Rinse up my cheekbones & then hipness blush blended in lightly on the apples of my cheeks. I used Mac's 127 brush - dark side for the bronzer & the lighter side of the brush for hipness. And I used Tom Ford's Rose Soleil ls :eyelove: Its the prettiest no makeup makeup look imho. I could wear this look everyday I love it so much. Everyone should own Tom Ford's Rose Soleil lipstick :eyelove:
Adding chanel base in rosee to my list right now! I have all of the other products you used. I am planning a les beiges haul soon, so I will pick up the base then. I have been working like a maniac lately - actually taking a quick break from working right now. So I am using visions of the striped powder and pink blush stick as a reward for getting everything done (hopefully this week)
