I've had New Moon, Fatal and Initiation look like sad little hockey pucks. Initiation came directly from Chanel.com and the other two came from Nordstrom in Downtown Seattle, they both told me that this can happen and it doesn't effect the product other than being ugly. If you press it down, it will squish out to look more like it's supposed to. I'm sorry that yours arrived like that too

Whuttt. None of my other Chanel eyeshadows look like this though. :-/ Totally freaked me out coz my Mirage was perfect.

Could it be because this was released last year and this one might have been sitting in storage/warehouse for all this time (maybe even sideways) that made it migrate/deform? I think I've seen other older ones also look like they "shrinked".

The sent you a hockey puck----I'd return it. Mine didn't arrive that way, I've had it for a very long time and it still didn't shrink like that.

If you look closely, the edges seem dried out too. Which would explain it shrinking like that. They do at times arrive like hockey pucks. The product is fine. They will fall out too. But stay intact. I have had DHL for stuff from Selfridges. I get it within 48 hours of ordering. If you have a return, then it does suck. I just used USPS since it MUCH cheaper then DHL for the return. They should also be stored upside down.

Yep, at least 50% of my IdOs have arrived looking like this. Doesn't matter where you order from. I once went back and forth with Chanel because I wanted to give one as a gift and all 3 they sent me looked like that. It was a newly released shade and I ordered direct from Chanel.com. The IdOs are prone to this. I now just keep them if they come that way because it seems like the choice comes down to accept them this way or don't order them.

Even though I ordered from Nordies, I emailed Chanel to check and the Chanel rep who replied and said that my picture shows "a damaged product".

Yes, that's what I was told....all 3 times. It became clear to me that the Chanel CS folks do not buy the IdOs.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's pitiful that they come this way, but it's par for the course in my experience. I get excited when I get one that's not a hockey puck. Maybe you'll get lucky and get a good one if they send a replacement, I just wouldn't count on it.

I don't understand - is this Nordstrom stock? or did you buy from a 3rd party via Nordstrom? I wouldn't accept this - it looks awful.

I've never received an IdO in this condition, and the only time I've seen this in person was when after 2 years or so of owning Emerveille, it had shrunk.

So I saw everything today and skipped. I will say that Infiniment has such a gorgeous sheen, but the pink shade had some fluoro look about it which I didn't like.


With regards to the new Poudre Universelle Beige Lumiere which is released today in the UK:

I compared it to the 22 Rose Clair and 20 Clair. It is similar to 20 Clair, no lighter or darker, but with a slightly pinker tone. 20 Clair is yellow compared to Beige Lumiere. 22 Rose Clair is pink compared to Beige Lumiere. So in terms of underlying colour, Beige Lumiere falls between Rose Clair and Clair. I wanted to take pictures comparing, but all the other powder samples were in the drawers and I had to ask her to bring them out for me to compare and after a moment it was just getting awkward. Maybe next time.


Also, the new RA/RAV lipsticks are to be released 9th October here.
