I called the VIBR Concierge line and the CS rep said she's pretty positive it's just a verbiage problem and that it's clearly not actually tortoise shell, since that's not legal. So she's passing my comment along to whoever can look further into it and get that clarified. I might have used words like "disturbing," "gross," and "distressing" in our conversation.

I looked it up and couldn't find much information but it seems like only certain species are protected nationwide and the rules for selling and trading can vary by state. Still very disappointed. I hope it isn't real shell. Edit: Glad you called. I'm curious to see what they say. I'm pretty sure it is illegal.

Yeah I think it's highly likely the description is poorly worded or something!! Hoping it isn't real shells!! I am curious to know the outcome of your call as well!!

I cannot imagine them using real tortoiseshell in any capacity, and then using "faux leather" as a pouch for the mirror. That would be rather hypocritical on a whole new level. I really hope the fix the wording on the site. I'm going to feel unsettled until they do.

I went to Sephora today and got a Formula X polish called Alchemy II. I'm not crazy about that brand anymore, but the color looks sooo nice. It's a shimmery multicolored shade. Also, I got a sample of the Cover FX drops and the illuminating primer. I want to try it before I bother getting it for the sale. I got the new Bite Beauty perk, too. :D

Ohh! I've loved it since I watched tarababyz review on it it's so sleek and beautiful, if it's still around when they send those gift cards out in December I may grab it! Speaking of UD, look what I found while going through my things at home!!
