MAC Snowball / Snow Ball collection (Holiday 2017)

Unfortunately stock is really low at Mac stores in Canada (at least in Vancouver). I was working when the collection launched yesterday and the one eyeshadow I wanted sold out immediately at both online retailers here. I work today as well, so I called two local stores. Apparently they received only 3 of each eye shadow and sold out immediately. It isn't looking good here
3 of each eyeshadow?? Are you kidding me?! For the holiday collection! What a load of crap. I called The Bay downtown to hold a lipstick for me but they wouldn't so I guess I'm not getting anything from this collection after all.

It's brutal! I got the same song and dance about holding an item and I even offered to pay for it if they would just put it aside for a few hours. Unfortunately, no go. The girl I spoke with was very nice and she was really trying to be helpful, but her hands were tied. She said stock for this collection was super limited and they were under strict orders. I mean, I get it, but it makes no sense to have such limited amounts. Sucks! I hope you can get your lipstick in a restock!

Funny story.
So when pre-order started, I called A Mac counter and a Mac store (I’m in NJ)
I mentioned earlier that the first Mac counter played reindeer games and made it seem like the face bag did not have Whisper of Gilt and that I should call day of (which would be today) to get it on hold.
That didn’t sit well with me. So I called a Mac store and was able to confirm that it was WOG and she put me in the pre-sell list. She told me how pre-sell goes is that they call you day of (today) to get you card information and then put it on hold for you to pick up.
Something told me I needed to physically go to the store. So I went to a different Mac counter (Macy’s) the next day since I was at the mall already and asked about pre-sell. Homegirl tells me that’s not how preorder goes. And precedes to correctly presell me a face bag. She basically put the order on their register and took my card information (my card usually puts a hold when that happens no biggie).
Never got got a call from the Mac store that put me on a “presell list” tho.
Mind you the store I physically went to confirmed I can pick up my items now.

It might still be available at the Bay online? But of course I'm not promising anything!
I also tried to pay for mine over the phone but also got the same song and dance about no holds or phone orders for this collection. Argh. I don't usually complain about MAC's launch fiascos but they really screwed this one up... They should have been prepared with A LOT of stock... almost every other brand does for their holiday releases. Very poorly executed on MAC's part.

I was up at 11:40pm and figured I might as well wait until 12 but then I went to sleep. Woke up and perused the sites. Found stuff on Nordies and read about Ulta and the 20%. Oh I found out I had one too but just couldn't think straight this morning. I did do a store search but was confused about whether the ones near me would have the WOG set. I decided to get everything else from Nordies and do store pick up and check Ulta this afternoon. I was able to pick up WOG from Ulta. I was surprised they had it. It wasn't exactly prominently displayed. In fact they didn't really have a display. You had to know what was in the bag already as there were no samples shown. I saw the big lipstick set and and eye set. I read on the back that it had a mineralize eyeshadow and a technakohl and something else. I did not use my 20% off card though. I was thinking of buying something else but didn't want to impulse purchase. Now that I'm home, I wish that I had used it. Anyhow, picked up my stuff from Nordies. I checked out the nude gloss set and liked it but don't know if I want to get it. I liked the vamplify shade and the glittery gloss. I forgot to look at the the rose gold eye palette.
I didn't use my 20% off. I just realized I had one. It was my first one and I just froze. I couldn't think straight. LOL! I know there were some things I wanted to order but couldn't think of them. I'm crazy tired. I may just reorder or get something else from my wishlist. 20% off is a good deal for Mac. Oh wait! Ultra is selling Nars now. Oh it is all coming back to me.

Lipsticks are available in store now. I think most things are. If you can, go back a page or two and there is an instagram link with release dates for all the items. The Whisper of Gilt gift set is supposed to be released with the second wave but Ulta had it online and in store today.

I don't know if anyone noticed but the Whisper of Gilt set and the Show Gold Set both have rose gold compacts and rose gold brush handles. The sequin bags look the same though. I didn't notice this in pics. I thought the compacts were the same as the color collection stuff which is gold. I'm just now looking at the stuff I picked up. Were there 3 pink eyeshadows in this collection? I'm reading the names and all say different names so I didn't get duplicates but they all look pink. I also got the white one because someone showed it as a duo chrome. I think gold flash. Like I don't have a million of those but I couldn't skip. I did manage to skip the charcoal. I'm proud of myself. I only got shimmer and spice lipstick. This morning I couldn't remember if I liked anything else. I though pics of all the frosty shades looked nice to me but Shimmer and Spice was the star. I did a quick IG search this morning but didn't see much swatch wise. I decided to just get Shimmer and Spice and swatch the rest in store. I swatted the other frosty shades and thought I could skip. I didn't even think to swatch Shimmer & Spice. Oops. I really liked that Vamplify shade in the nude set. I did wonder if it was something I already had though or one of the permanent shades. I bought a few shades similar but I thought they were more cool toned. I need to check shade names.
