Well, now I'm really in trouble. I had originally only wanted the white lion. I talked myself out of it, then I started to waver. Now I've read Sabrina's review and I want BOTH. How did I go from refusal to buy any to *needing* both

Well, I did it. I chatted with the Chanel rep to see if the highlighters are available in the Chanel boutique in my city, but unfortunately they weren't. She was very kind and gave me an overnight shipping code though!

I ended up buying Rouge Allure No 1 from the Christmas look today. The red case makes these lipsticks IRRESISTIBLE!!!

That said, No 1 is a very true red. The one that comes closest is Passion, but No1 is slightly less blue and a bit more on the sheer side.

Just a small update: I have more than 50 reds in my lipstick collection - all loved and worn regularly. Rouge Allure No 1 goes straight to the top of the list! It's the most pure, true red, I have ever owned. It looks sheer, but it's very well pigmented on the lips. If I could pick only one red lipstick, this would be it. I do hope they make it permanent!

I have to say, as someone who once thought one red lipstick was enough (I know, right?) and who has since then acquired nearly a dozen, it was taking everything I had to not buy more of the Numéros Rouges reds

I agree! I love looking at my red casings all in a row too. The formulas on all of them are amazing.

Well, this post was the straw that broke the camel’s back. I went to Nordstrom to get some jeans hemmed on my lunch break today and made a stop at the Chanel counter on my way out. All the reds were beautiful, especially in that case! I ended up buying #1 . I wish it were permanent too. I may have to get a backup...
