Just got belightful shimmer powder, any ideas of how to make it show up???

Hi all, I need a step-by-step on how to use the water-based mixing medium... I keep reading to mix with shadow, but how?? Do I use a few drops and mix it into the shadow container?? Please help, would love to learn
