Does anyone use the MAC 109 brush for mineral foundation? I've heard it's great for creams and liquids, but I'm curious to know if anyone has used it for mineral foundation and whether or not it works well for that purpose.
I've never tried something like BE with the 109 but I have tried using the MSFN with it with not so good results... It was really hard to try to get good coverage with powder without it taking 30 minutes to buff on AND not look like dipping my head in a vat of powder.. Hopefully this helps
Oh!!! and to add.. I was skeptical about really liquid foundations and the 109 but I recently went back to my tried-and-true Clinique Superbalanced and it's amazing!
IMO I think it would ruin the brush honestly. The hairs would weaken and break off since you need to really buff in the foundation. I don't think the 109 would stand up well to that kind of treatment. You'd be better off with a larger Kabuki or a flat top brush similar to the #180.
I use it sometimes. It's alright, it takes a bit more time with foundation because it's relatively small but other than that the results you get aren't any different than using the 182 or 181. I would prefer to use the kabuki brush though since you have to spend less time on application.
I like how it applies cream and liquid but I have two and they bleed SO MUCH BLUE and BLACK dye! It is freaking awful!! I just don't even want to use them anymore! It is sooooo badddddddd!

Good then it's not just me! I thought it was supposed to eventually stop bleeding
!
Anyways, no this brush is not really ideal for mineral foundation. I don't think the bristles are packed densely enough for that purpose. Instead, why not try the 181 or 182? They will give you better coverage.

Did you guys buy knock off brushes? none of my black brushes have ever bled
the 109 is a perfect brush for any liquid foundation, and I use it for my mineral foundation. 168 is a great brush too. It sheds less.

Hmmm... never had that problem. The only problem I've had is the amount of liquid/cream product that soaks into the natural bristles. For that reason, I'm thinking of trying the Sephora #55 synthetic airbrush finish brush. On the website it looks almost like a synthetic dupe of the 109. We shall see...
Oh yeah, just to add... it sheds like a mofo! It's almost the perfect brush except for these two problems...
I use my 109 to apply MAC's powder mineral foundation, and haven't had any issues! Sheds here and there, but that's all. The MUA at the store actually recommended that brush to me for that particular foundation.
