109 Brush Shedding!

Does anyone else have a problem with their 109 brush shedding? I am not talking about a little hair here and there, but everytime I use it my entire face gets hair all over it! It looks like my dog got all over me! I thought it would eventually stop shedding, but it hasn't

It's been doing this since I started using it. Help!

I get maybe a hair or two that falls out every time I use it (I use it for powder foundation), but that's all. Nothing extreme like you!

wow, that's a lot of shedding.. maybe you are washing it and not letting it air dry cause it sounds like it's going bald!

are you suing it for powder or foundation? because i have heard that liquid foundation and the 109 = shedding on your face!

if not perhaps it's because it's new and it might settle down after a few washes.

Mine is shedding that this too. I tried to use it for creme blush (DISASTER!) hairs everywhere, also in the creme blush pan. You can't apply any pressure with this thing. I wish I wouldn't hadn't bought it. I can use it for highlighting.

I bought my 109 about a month ago and I get no shedding. I've used it to contour, but mostly for liquid foundation. I only had two hairs come off on my face and that's no big deal especially since I expected more b/c of what people had said. I've washed it a lot and I've experienced no shedding and it still has it's original shape.

Mine is shedding like that too. I tried to use it for cream foundation but the hairs on my face drove me nut. I'm using it for powder blush now but it still sheds. I regret buying it too.

Thanks for your replies everyone! Yep, I AM using it for SS Foundation... I think I figured it out... 109 + anything liquid = SHEDDING MESS LOL! Everyone who said their's was not shedding at all or barely was is using it for powder and everyone who's having my problem with bad shedding is using it for cream/liquid blush or foundations. I started using it with my liquid foundations after watching a youtube tutorial and her makeup turned out great. Mine did too, minus the shedding

I just wanted to figure out if I had a "bad brush" or if this was normal for the 109. Sounds like it was just meant for powders and contouring.

Hmm...I mostly use mine for liquids and creams, and I get no shedding. How odd...

I regularly use mine with MAC's satinfinish foundation. I actually got mine quite awhile after it came out, so maybe that has something to do with it.

I mainly use mine for liquid foundation and it has only shed a hair or two. And it only shed when it was new, not anymore.

This is strange.

That is strange! I read some reviews on Makeupalley about shedding too. So maybe there were some bad batches made or something?

I love the design and size of this brush--but i do get shedding every time i use this brush! I have only been using it to apply powder blush and i always see a couple of hairs left on my face. I really like the brush, but i hate the shedding.

Mine sheds w/ liquid foundation, too. I choose to use it with powders only, because of this.

I 'spot clean' it after use w/ MAC's brush cleaner (sprayed on and wiped on a microfiber towel).
I deep clean (with BE's brush cleaner) when I feel it needs it. Which, it's maybe a year old and I've maybe deep cleaned it 4-6 times.

Mine is shedding too. I use it most of the time for concealer or foundation. I really like the size and shape of this brush, but the shedding is crazy.

Erine, I use MAC brush cleaner (spray it on with a spray bottle). I have only deep cleaned it once or twice with baby shampoo and I let it dry for almost two days to be sure. I don't really use it much because if the shedding... I normally just use my 182 and 181 with StudioFix Powder for my every day foundation.

I know you're an MA... have there been any bad 109's? Do you think I got a defect or are they normally meant to be used with powder only? Thanks!
