If I was to buy 8 pigment samples from ebay, which colors should I get?
Lovely Lily, Melon, Blue Storm, Blue Glitter, Tan, White Gold, Jam Session, Turquoise Glitter, Blue, Rose, Rich Purple, Gold Glitter.

Well, the glitter isn't eyesafe so if you are actually wanting eyeshadows, I wouldn't get the glitters. I love lovely lily, tan, and white gold. Blue storm and blue are also nice if you like blues. Melon is a great neutral colour and looks nice with tan. I'd definitely get those first and then work on the glitters.
