So, these are both buffer brushes - is it necessary to have both? And how would you use each of them?

Thanks in advance!

Hi, They are both buffer brushes but the similarity ends there.
The 180 is a white strong bristle, whereas the 182 is soft like kabuki.

The 180 is great for blending foundations. The 182 is great for buffing up pearled/satin face products. Like MSF, Pearlizers etc.
The pic below shows just how different these two beauties are.

its a very small handle so that you have more control but a super fluffy bristle end so that you can achieve the buffing effect that blitz is talking about

In my mind, because they are so extremely different bristles, they both have their place. The 180 (which is the white bristled brush) is great for buffing in foundation (Studio Tech and Full Coverage) but is more stiff. And the 182 brush, which truly completes my life, is super soft and is great for bronzer, MSF's, loose powder, pressed powder and just about anything that's powder. In addition I must add that the new 182 brush (which is perm) feels heavier and more dense than the 182 that came out with Catherine Deneuve. It's $45.00 but I swear it is soooo well worth it and you will use it more than you think. It's alot to spend at once but in the long run, it makes more sense.

The 180 reminds me of the brush you might see a barber using to apply shaving cream. With that said, how well would it work with liquid/cream products?

I use it exclusively for my studio fix fluid... and yeah, I feel like a barber when I'm putting it on!! I actually use it to directly apply the product (use very little) and then go round and round and round...

I use my 182 for buffing in stick foundation too, and it works. I think the 180 is a bit scratchy on the face, I wouldn't recommend it.

Thank you all for your input!
I have the 180 and wasn't sure if i should buy the 182 or not, especially as i don't use the 180 that much - i find it too scratchy!
it's obvious that they are both really different - that's my justification for buying the 182!

Thanks again!
