ok im not sure if this is the correct spot, becuase this is my first post here..
but, i got the 217 last week and ive washed it once and a few hairs, not alot at all, have sort of frayed out and seperated on the sides, is this normal?
When you swish it while cleaning, make sure you do it in soft, circular motions to clean the top of the bristles and the center; and lift when you swish back and forth to clean the sides. The less you fray it while swishing, the more it will keep shape. Are you laying them flat to dry? That's important too.
Mine did the same thing, and I slid it into the plastic sleeve it came in for a bit after I cleaned it, and that seemed to help shape it, and pick up those flyaways so the brush looked like new again. HTH
Actually alot of my brushes do that after drying. And its usually if I just lay them on one side to let them dry the entire time. I've learned that half way through drying if I flip them over and let the other side air dry out it helps prevent the flyaways a bit.
I actually ordered it a couple of days ago and i cant wait coz some of my brushes have fly aways too. Im looking forward coz ive heard this stuff is great to restore your brushes into its form.
yeah, the way the brus is designed/built, you're bound to get some flyaways. But the tips others have posted should work. the just needs to be held together for a while.
Does anyone know if theres any product similiar to the brush guard's that can be bought at like Sally's? I just hate ordering things online and having to pay for shipping and what not.

Maybe give that a try?
This is a great idea; I saw a video about it on YouTube a while back and I ALWAYS do this if a brush has a lot of fly aways. You'd be amazed how good they look once they dry.

After washing my 217 (I use a gentle shampoo and conditioner on all of my brushes), I shape it into place and then wrap tissue papper as it dries so that the hairs stay together as much as possible.

I did this yesterday and it worked WONDERS!!! thanks
I'm gonna have to try the tp trick then. I just gotta make sure the kind I use doesn't leave any lint like those little balls and specks of paper.
I just asked about Sally's cause I have a $5 off coupon from there when I signed up for there membership thingy. I'm super cheap lol. Plus I rather avoid buying any cosmetic items through the mail cause if my dad finds it, he will have a fit! Lol the man hates my love for makeup.
I featured the toilet paper wrapping trick on my Youtube channel, honestly it works wonders, I wrap all my more fluffy eye brushes and it makes them turn back into their original shape. I'm also keen to try out the brush guard because that's a similar method.
