First post in Specktra!

Ok this has been bugging me for some time, I've got two 239 Brushes (one SE) but i've no idea if it can be used to blend 2 shadows together!i love the way this brush applies hard-to-see colours but it's so hard to blend..

do i need to get another blending brush? what are the angled shader brushes (ie 272) for? and also the 213SE always comes along with palettes, what's its main usage?

It's great for packing on color. If you need to blend with it, just use it head on. It won't be as simple as using a 224 or 217, but you can definitely do it.

Agreed^^^ You can definitely use it to blend. I have an easier time with the 224 but have used the 239 on many occasions when I've been too lazy to switch brushes. As MiCHiE said, just make sure you're using it perpendicular to the lid.

Flat brushes like the 239, 242, 252 are best used on the browbone or lid... I usually use the 217 or sometimes the 224 on my crease to blend.

The 239 can definitely blend colors together when they are on the lid but it doesn't blend the crease very well...

This is true, it's tough to blend the crease with the 239. I find that the 217 works awesome for this....

I love 217 so much when blending the crease! I really recommend it. 239 isn't enough for blending (at least to me).

I think you just need to work at it if you want to blend your colors together. I've done complete looks with my 239 only.

Totally doable. ^^

I like 217 and 224 so much for blending. I think that 217 is much better for blending to crease.

As many have said the 217 and 224 are perfect blenders. I highly recommend getting one or both for your brush collection. However I've used 239 on multiple customers to blend. Just tilt your brush so the tips of the bristles are on the area where you are blending and with moderate pressure work in small circles. It is going to take a little longer, but not much. The angle and motion are going to be what will determine how well it blends. And as always when it comes to makeup the more you do it, the better at it you will become.

the 222 and 224 are very similar.. i find that the 222 is slightly softer.. i prefer the 224 cos it gives a better blend

in regards to the 239, i use it to pack on colour, as its a flat brush i find it doesnt blend out perfectly like i find the 224 does. you can also use the 224 to press colour on to the lid if you wanted to go for just one brush

The 222 is longer and more densely packed than the 224. The 222 is better for a more precise placement of color, while the 224 is better for a wash of color. The 222 fits my small eyes better, and I reserve the 224 for blending only. I love them both.

I only use the 239 for packing on color. I like the 224 and 217 for blending the crease. 224 I use for more precise color application.

Now I'm torn between the 217 and 224,lol!! You guys make them both sound indispensible and I need to stop procrastinating and commit to one or the other...oh the turmoil going on in my brain!!

If you've got to get one first, go with the 217. It's so much more versatile!
