4 Lipsticks

I am going to depot my eyeshadows this weekend and do B2M on the pots. I have enough for 4 lipsticks... so I'm wondering what your recommendations would be?

I have Viva Glam Gaga, that is my only Mac l/s atm. I do have some others that I use but if I see a dupe listed, which there probably won't be as all of my others are drugstore, I'll probably still consider it.

For reference, I am NC20-25, medium brown hair (I actually have the bottom dyed purple), brown/green eyes.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'd love to have an idea before I go in there. The only thing I'm not interested in is a red, as I have Chaos from NYX (my perfect red)

I think everyone should have Viva Glam V. It is the perfect every day l/s and suits almost everyone. I don't know if you can B2M for Viva Glam though, here you can't.

You can B2M for any lipstick except Viva Glam because 100% proceeds go for AIDS research. You should check out the Spring Colour Forecast lipsticks. I have Fresh Salmon, Colour me Coral, and Bronzilla and they are sooooo pretty! Also, Raddichio is another nice one from that collection may go nice with your purple hair! Once you get to MAC and start palying around and swatching lipsticks, you may just change your mind about it all but go and have fun! Yeah for free lipsticks!

^ Agree - you can't B2M for the Viva Glam lipsticks since the proceeds go to charity.

Get a good red, a berry, a nude and a peachy/coral or a pink.

Go to the site and check out the PERM colours and also any LE collection colours that are at your counter. You'll get an idea of what you like and can swatch to your hearts content once you see them in person. Check out all the different textures too - you might like a colour, but the texture won't be your fave. I dislike frosts myself, but LOVE the cremesheens!

You can't B2M for a Viva Glam l/s. The l/s from Spring Colour Forecast are really pretty! Show Orchid from Riveting collection is my favourites too...

Coral is always a great color for spring/summer season. I'd say swatch a few of those when you get there.

You should get a MLBB (My lips but better) lipstick. It's perfect for everyday wear.

If I were you, I'd get;
A red maybe one like Dubonet, Russian Red or MAC Red (Dubonet is my personal fav)
A Bright colour, like Girl About Town, that's such a great colour and it looks good on most skin tones I think.
A MLBB lipstick is also a great buy
and then one that just brightens up your face, just for days when you cant be bothered, a lipstick that just makes you feel good.
but in short, if you don't like those colours, since you can get 4, you should get 1 red, 2 which are fun and an everyday colour, I think that's a good variety

I agree with getting one lipstick from each category like Dollygirl says.

Nude - I personally like Blankety but make sure u try it on, I have cooler undertones than u
Red - I love Ruby Woo
Coral or Peach - Def get Fresh Salmon
Pink - either Show Orchid, Girl About Town or Pink Nouveau

Oh wow! I am loving Fresh Salmon. I don't have anything like that!

I think I will go for a nude as I don't have a good one... I have a cheapie drug store one that nudes out my lips a little but it's quite shimmery. I've heard that some of Mac's nudes are c-c-c-craaazy so I will have to try them on (lucky I'm working at Macy's tonight

)

and Viva Glam V is the end-all-be-all from what I've heard... can't do that either!

I think I will check out Girl About Town and Show Orchid, a MUA put GAT on me one time and it was when I wasn't daring enough to wear it. Plus, I have a pretty NYX gloss that would go over top well.

What about a good gold/orangey color to wear with warm colors on the eyes? I have the Nice Mix Up lipglass and have been looking for a lipstick since I got it.

well i think that hue is an amazing nude colour. it's a glaze finish so feels nice on the lips too

for a red ruby woo is perfect! it's bright and matte finish so a very classic red. for coral i'd say crosswires - easy to wear because it has pinky tones in it

oh and for a pink i love creme cup! it's a light pink and feels lovely on the lips

I am not a huge lipstick person and I only have a few, but the lipstick which has been in my purse since I bought it (which was like 1 week or two ago) that is the Viva Glam - Cyndi Lauper lipstick
IT is super versitile you can have a sheer pinky red lip, or a deep red lip EDIT: sorry, I didn't realize that VG -Cyndi wasn't an option! For a nude I'd say blankety.
But I'm more a red lip person so i can't really give you to much advice on nudes or pinks!
